  1. Yeah. He's not from Smyrna like us good folks but he is from Mableton. And the REAL Mableton, not the Vinings Mableton.
  2. A week or so ago on The Tonight Show they showed a sign for the same promotion in a jewelry store as at D Geller & Son only it wasn't even in Georgia. I can't remember the state but seems like it was out west somewhere. I found the picture on the Tonight Show website but there is no audio with it, just the photo. I was SURE it was D Geller but it wasn't.
  3. You can bet your bottom dollar they were EXPECTED to vote a certain way. Much like the groups that provide transportation to the polls. Say it ain't so!!
  4. Going to run by the funeral home on my way out of Dallas in about an hour. Can't stay for the funeral but I just HAVE to pay my respects to a dear friend. I am so going to miss JJ.
  5. My daughter LOVES her tablet. It is an android (don't ask me to explain because I don't understand it). She checks e-mail, surfs the web, does Facebook, everything a young person does these days. With little ones 4 and 2, she doesn't have a lot of time to be on. She said this is the perfect solution for her. She got it at, of all places, Maxway in Austell. If they have these, I'm sure places like Target, Walmart and Kmart would have them as well. I think hers was right around $100. You might check the office supply superstores as well as Best Buy. I originally planned to get a ne
  6. With me it's usually one or the other--both are in or both are out. Just about ALWAYS have right knee under the cover.
  7. The same thing a lot of other people can't understand. How a SMALLER THAN EXPECTED INCREASE is a DECREASE. Here is the definition of "increase: Notice that "decrease" is an antonym. addition, growthSynonyms:access, accession, accretion, accrual, accumulation, aggrandizement, augmentation, boost, breakthrough, burgeoning, cumulation, development, elaboration, enlargement, escalation, exaggeration, expansion, extension, gain, hike, incorporation, increment, inflation, intensification, maximization, merger, multiplication, optimization, raise, rise, spread, step-up, surge, swe
  8. OK, I'm really confused now. You said that "using historic events as an indicator of the future the increase would have occured with or without Obamacare" but yet the topic title is "Obamacare decreased my healthcare cost". And your premiums ONLY went up 2.2%. So, are you now saying your healthcare costs DID increase but not as much as you had expected them to, based on historic data?
  9. And I'm positive that the ice cream will only increase my behind by 2.2% and therefore it will be a decrease. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
  10. I did raise one of them recently by 25%. If I had only raised their fee by 12.5% it still would have been a fee increase and not a decrease. They all KNOW that I am likely going to raise my fee from time to time. But none of them are idiots and believe that just because I *ONLY* raised it 12.5% instead of 25% that I decreased my fee.

I so wish I could have seen him one last time. Heather, I WILL see you later. And you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to you!
  12. I see your logic. I don't see a smaller than expected increase being a decrease. A DECREASE is when something goes down. A better than expected increase is NOT and never will be a decrease. If that's the case, maybe I should increase all of my client's fees by 2.2% and see if they agree that I've lower my fee.
  13. But a smaller than expected increase is not a decrease. Let's say groceries go up 1% instead of an expected 1.5%. Is that a decrease in the cost of groceries? Not even close!
  14. Maybe he is waiting on someone in particular to visit. My father in law hung on for a day and a half and passed just minutes after his sister arrived. We swear the man was waiting for her to get there.
  15. Yes, but corporations are part of the public. I don't have cable so I have no idea about Fox News.
  16. But did your coverage and co-pays remain the same? Or go down? Your daughter must have been the member and not paying through an employer.
  17. A man accepts responsibility for his actions and takes responsibility for the consequences of his actions. READ WHAT I WROTE, not what you think I wrote.
  18. Well, a man accepts responsibility for his actions.
  19. Quite honestly, I wonder why the government funds PBS anyway. It is called PUBLIC Broadcasting for a reason. It would seem to me that if the government funded it, it would be "government" media. You may want your employer out of your health care but I think it would be more prudent for the government to get out of the media. Talk about a conflict of interest!
  20. Hubby is on Medicare. His prescription plan increased about 30%. We haven't gotten anything about the Medicare premium yet but since there was an increase in Social Security, I'm sure the increase in the Medicare premium will be about the same amount. Maybe. Increase in premium might be MORE than the SS raise. Some years it is.
