Ruger SR9C or something similar. Since that is a popular model, maybe somewhere has one I can try out. Looks like when I get the chance I'll be going up to Canton Road! That looks promising.

My husband always carried his .38 when we went to Atlanta. One night we pulled in the garage and he opened the door to get out of the car. When he did, the .38 fell out of his lap and hit the floor, discharging into the ceiling. He wasn't drunk and neither was I. It was just a freak thing. Drunks also should not play with knives. To this day, more than 30 years later, you can still see the outline of the knife that a friend threw into our wall. It was mere INCHES from my head. And no, I don't believe the friend was ever allowed to return if he was drinking. He soon became an ex-fri

Do they generally have a rental available for most firearms?
-
Do most firearms dealers let you test a firearm prior to purchase? I have big hands for a women but I also have arthritis in my shooting hand and in the fingers on that hand. I don't need a small pistol because of the size of my hands but I also don't need one that takes a lot of strength to fire.

looking to replace mattress, what do you recommend?
Mama Carol replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I expected no less from you. It is a chore to change sheets on the one we have now. Can't raise up the corners of the mattress so we actually have to use sheets that are slightly deeper than the mattress. That means they bunch up. I hate that! And we can't move the bed because of the weight of the mattress. It would be great to have something we could move around if we wanted to. Or would not take a football team to move when and if we finally get another house! -
I knew you would know, especially where Florida and Georgia are concerned. Thank you!! No problem having it shipped if I find something I want.

Pensacola.

The background check isn't a problem. It might come back "person unknown" but it will come back clear. I thought the agreements were just for carrying. Anyway, we can't look at houses or my husband fish the entire time we're in Florida, so we will visit some gun shows, gun stores and pawnshops.
-
Not sure how up-to-date the information is but I found an Internet entry on gun laws and it says that you do NOT need a state license to purchase a handgun in Florida. Not sure if that means you have to be a resident. Sure wouldn't hurt to go to a gun store and ask I guess. Hi there!!
-
I know they do for carry purposes. But for purchase as well? Hmmmm. Might find something in Mobile or Montgomery.

Thought while we're in Florida in the coming months that I might look at gun shows, pawnshops and gun stores for a firearm. Not sure if my Georgia carry permit would be honored there. I know Florida and Georgia have reciprocity and that the permit is honored as a carry permit. What I'm wondering is would it be honored for purchase like it is here in Georgia? Or will I have to go through the whole background check if I find something I want? It really doesn't matter to me, either way, but it would be nice for it to be honored there as it is here.

You might try Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna. ALL of their prices seemed to be better than Academy Sports. http://www.adventureoutdoors.us/

FYI, 38s don't leave a big hole in your ceiling either. Hunting knives leave nasty holes in your walls, though.

Looks like it's Sleep Number by a wide margin. Will definitely have to check them out....after Christmas. The one I had that was a POS was a Stearns and Foster. NEVER again. It wore out in less than 2 years. It was HORRIBLE. It's the one we replaced with the Tempur-Pedic, in 2007. -

I hate to get rid of the bed we have but I've decided that in order to get a mattress I can sleep on, the bed has to go as well. I was just looking at the Sleep Number beds. I LOVE the bedframe! And I hadn't thought about the ease of moving them. That is DEFINITELY a plus! -

I loved our waterbed. Absolutely loved it. I haven't liked a mattress since. I'll have to check with my husband. We had one, that we both loved, but got rid of it when he started having back problems. Thought the bed might not be helping. But I'll ask him! -

I had never slept on anything but a Simmons Beautyrest until I got married. NOTHING ELSE because my dad worked at Simmons. I miss my Beautyrest. Had a Sealy or a Serta (can't remember which) that was a POS. I think it was a Serta pillowtop. We had it less than 2 years. -
The problem with it is this: crude oil is up already this week and Christmas (heavy travel) is coming up. I don't expect this price reduction to last. I just hope it lasts until I have to buy gas again.

looking to replace mattress, what do you recommend?

I am really leaning toward that. I like a softer bed than does my hubby. Which I think is part of the problem with our Tempur-Pedic. We got an extra firm which was too firm for me in the beginning. He liked it because it supported his back. But now his back is worse than mine and my knees are worse than they ever have been and the bed is TOO firm for either of us. Besides, I don't like having my foot up in the air and my knee bent when I'm on my side. My leg looks like a number 7. -

Did it take a lot of trying to find your "number"? -
We're looking to replace our mattress. We both have back problems and I have knee and shoulder arthritis. Before anyone suggests a memory foam or Tempur-Pedic mattress, let me say THAT is what we're wanting to replace. Have finally decided that the mattress has to go. Have used a pillow top in the past and will never EVER again have one in our home. No way. Worse than the Tempur-Pedic. Looking to replace at least the mattress and possibly the frame. Our frame keeps separating. Not sure if it's the weight of the mattress and box springs (along with our weight) or what but we simply

The biggest jars I have are quart and don't have a lot of them. Mostly pint/pint and a half. Anyone who wants jars, let me know by PM. I'll bring them to the Pcom office for you to pick up. Won't be before Friday, though.
-
Don't know about the ones in Paulding, but the Food Depot on Bankhead Highway in Lithia Springs/Austell had them on Sunday. The jars that is. Not sure if they had the small ones. If you don't need them until Friday, I have some you can have. What size? I have pretty much all sizes--the little squatty jelly jars, the taller jelly jars, pint and a half, pint, quart. PM me if you want them and can pick them up at Pcom.

nope, no Christmas spirit here.
