  1. That's how memorable forgettable I am in person! I have enjoyed meeting every Pcommer I have met, even though who don't know they have met me. I mean, it's not like I go around with a name tag.
  2. RhondaW scared the crap out of me when I met her (which she does not remember). I think it was the red hair. I'm married to a redhead. I think that's why she scared me. Pubby, I can't go off and leave you for any length of time without you getting into all kinds of trouble, can I??? You better be getting well!! Don't make me come up there! I don't think they make drugs that powerful. I guess the Pubster being currently indisposed explains a lot of why I've felt ignored lately.
  3. I've missed my bewbie hugs from you, LPPT. Hope to get one soon, though!
  4. It was another server who posted the receipt and got fired. Not the server who waited on the pastor and her party.
  5. Experience drinking it doesn't count. BTW, no brag, just fact.
  6. Of all of those descriptions, I think you got one right. NC-17 is a mess!
  7. Look up Peter Coors sometime. Or Bill Coors. Bill was very nice when I met him. Peter was skiing, I think, at the time and wasn't there. The party was at the Evergreen Inn in Beaverton, OR. We never got to Golden for the private tour. But that's OK, we spent enough of their money, we didn't need the tour. I think I probably know things about Coors you will NEVER know. Around our house, we call them "our proud sponsor". And when we forget, we just look at the garbage can that says "Coors" or look at the Christmas tree with the ornaments from them. We have a lot of reminders of t
  8. Actually, my boss valued me enough to pay me quite handsomely, come to my house to pick me up when I had foot surgery and couldn't drive, drive me to Barnesville to pick up my daughter at college when I couldn't drive due to a blood clot in my leg and match my contribution to the SEP-IRA. We used to joke that I would continue to contribute even if it was going down in value as long as I wasn't losing MY money. As long as it was losing HIS money, I was fine with contributing. But it rebounded nicely before I left that job and I have since cashed it in. I had a pension plan in another j
  9. No, I'm just wondering if most 401Ks are invested in the stock market.
  10. Oh my!! Aren't most 401Ks invested in the now booming stock market?
  11. If you treat the servers with respect you will generally get good service. If you treat them with respect AND leave big tips, they will remember and give you even better service next time. When my daughter reported to work for her first day at Huddle House, the other server told her tips were lousy. Three days later the other server asked her how she made that much in tips. Turned out if you treat the customer with respect and give them good service, they will remember that as well as a server remembers those who tip well. I really wish our daughter had stayed with HH because she would b
  12. The server pays income taxes on their earnings, wages AND tips. That is what Big Cat is saying. Not that the server pays the tax collected on the sale of food. Geez, read what a person says for once! Larger restaurants have what is called "allocated tips". It may be something that a server has not actually received but because of IRS regulations, they are required to report. It's on the W2. It IS based on sales. The business pays unemployment and withholding taxes to the IRS, sales tax to the Department of Revenue (or whatever the department is called in that particular state)
  13. The housing market is going gangbusters. If you want to buy a foreclosure that needs more put into it than you paid for it. This is a true story. We looked at a house in the Florida panhandle roughly 3 weeks ago. The house was destroyed. Every single wall in the house needed to be taken down and new drywall installed; there was a hole in the hall ceiling you could drive a VW through; wires had been yanked out of the walls; there was no inside or outside A/C or heat unit nor was there a water heater; light bulbs had been broken off at the base still in the fixture; windows were broken;
  14. Surely you jest. Handle something quickly and quietly and with dignity and respect between JUST the parties involved without posting it online? A tip is only a suggestion, even if it is an "automatic" tip due to how many people are in the party.
  15. It has been their culture for thousands of years, long before the US and other countries started buying oil from that region of the world.
  16. It's not just Islamic laws. And it's not just in the Middle East. Some states have the age requirement for the *victim* as 6, others at 12 and even others at various ages. And yes, that means that it is not considered murder unless the victim is at least that age.
  17. It's an ugly culture, too. So different from what we think of as being acceptable. The additional sad thing is the mom will likely be killed now, too. And nobody will ever know it.
  18. Only to sane people. I'm sure the man had his reasons and they made sense to him. I am so glad to know this is over and the boy is safe! I came back from the store to read this. Best news I've had all day!
  19. http://news.yahoo.com/alabama-town-gathers-bury-bus-driver-slain-hostage-011349756.html Authorities killed a gunman holding a 5-year-old boy hostage in an underground bunker in rural Alabama on Monday and plucked the child to safety without injury, a local law enforcement official said. "It's all over," said the official, who asked not to be identified by name because he had not been authorized to discuss the operation that led to the successful rescue of the child. "The boy is OK," he said.
