Call your insurance company. Your insurance company will give you some names of contractors. CALL THEM. Also call Benchmark Restoration in Douglasville. (770) 949-4042 That's who we used and were VERY happy with the price and the work.

I just don't understand how an item can be legal certain hours of the day and certain days of the week and be illegal other times. That just makes NO sense. Is it OK to speed on Wednesday between noon and 5 pm but at other times of the day or days of the week? No. Is it OK to buy cigarettes if you're of legal age to buy them on Saturday between 1 and 9 pm but not on Sunday? No. Why should alcohol be any different? If you don't want to buy it, you can NOT buy it on Sunday, too. Understand this: just because it's legal does not mean you have to go out and buy it. By the same

I know people say the cold, freezing weather keeps down the bugs. But the state bird of Alaska is the mosquito, so I don't buy into that theory. I hate cold weather. I'm happy to see the cranes flying north. They sure didn't stay long down south.

But there are convenience stores and grocery stores that would be impacted.

You've done a great job raising him! If I had my way, there would be no violent video games. I think they are worse than any gun owner, even the mentally ill ones.

I told my husband when we saw the last flock go south that they might have to turn around and go back. Sounds like they did!
-
Maybe I should have asked which actress you feel is most beautiful or "hot".
-
Were they flying south or north? We saw a number of flocks flying south from about Thanksgiving until almost New Year's Day.

I, too, have a personal relationship with God. However, I don't believe that gives me license to push my faith and values on others. I don't require that my friends have the same faith or values that I do and I don't tend to stay friends with people very long who try to push their values on me. I've been hurt very badly by "Christians" in the name of the church or religion. Much worse than those who profess no religion.

I just don't get how something can be legal certain hours of the day and certain days of the week and illegal other hours of the day or days of the week. That's stupid! It's legal or it's not. Plain and simple. I do believe the legal age to buy should be changed back to 18. If a person is old enough to die for our country, they are old enough to buy liquor, IMO

They sure as heck don't acknowledge each other when they do.

What? You don't like Amber Rayne?

My mom wouldn't allow alcohol in the house so they never made that trip. My dad, on the very rare occasions he would have a drink, kept his Pabst out in the shed. He bought it on his way home from work. At the little store just across the river on Chattahoochee Blvd. I did have an uncle who drank quite a bit. That's how I know about the bootleggers. You could buy it from them on Sunday, after he would have run out of what he bought on his way home from work during the week.

She was a beautiful woman. I think someone mentioned Sophia Loren. She, too, is drop dead gorgeous. I saw someone mentioned Susan Hayward. Yes!!! She was really good. My mom talked to her a number of times and was very impressed by how "real" and down to earth she was. She's buried in Carrollton. She was one of several cast and crew members of the movie "The Conqueror" who died of cancer and cancer related illnesses. In fact, there were 90 members of the 220 member cast and crew who died of cancer or cancer related illnesses.

All very good actresses. I always like Katherine Hepburn. She reminded me of one of my aunts. Hattie McDaniel was awesome in GWTW.

As soon as I read Jenilyn's response I realized I had to add Meryl Streep, too. She's probably the closest to Maureen O'Hara of any "modern day" actress. So, you have more than one favorite. That's OK.
-
We had a lot of responses to the thread about who was the greatest movie cowboy, so let's change it up a bit. Who is your favorite actress? Mine--without a doubt Maureen O'Hara. I can't think of a single, solitary current actress who measures up to her. And she's still alive!!! She's 93.

I love the warmth (and it is warmer than electric heat) but it is so costly. If we had known in 2003 what we knew in 2005, we would not have gotten a gas central heating system for our rental. It would have become total electric.

Try some of the property management companies around. COGS (on Nebo or Dallas Nebo, I forget which) Magnolia One (in Douglasville) PMR (on Clay Rd in Austell) There are a number of them listed if you Google "property management companies in Dallas, GA" Be aware of one thing: a lot of HOAs don't allow rentals so you might not get in a nice swim/tennis community.

You shouldn't have any problem finding something under $800. But a word of advice: don't get a house with gas heat. Our former tenants found they could either pay the rent or the gas bill but not both.

Depends on where you want it to be.

You better get busy! Just to refresh everyone's memory on this, the OP said this was a TAX SALE not a foreclosure where the mortgage has not been paid and the bank is about to take over. Two different things. Quite often under a tax sale the homeowner will come up with the money and get back the property, or even pay them when it goes to auction. But the questions would be: would you want to deal with someone who has not given you lease and would you want to deal with someone who seems to have no problem with creating problems for YOU.

You're absolutely correct. That is where one bunch of bootleggers were located. JUST across the county line in also dry Paulding County. I'm sure they made a slop-jar full of money off Cobb Countians.

I've been getting ready to move for three years, so 90 days to ME is quickly. And 90 days is quickly when you have limited options about finding a suitable place to live. If I were the OP, I'd start NOW finding a place. She might love the place but it's not hers and when they are told to move, the deadline might be at an inconvenient time. Much better to schedule it around THEM and not someone else's deadline. Believe me, you don't want to be trying to move during Christmas.

I grew up in Cobb County. It was dry at that time. You had a couple of choices in our area (Smyrna) if you wanted a drink. You could go down to the river and go into Fulton County and buy anything you wanted--beer, wine, whiskey, bourbon, whatever. You could go to the VFW, especially if it was Sunday and you wanted a drink. Or you could go a bit west to the Cobb/Paulding line and buy from the bootleggers any day of the week. I've been to the VFW when 9 out of 10 cars from from either Cobb or Paulding. And the VFW I'm talking about is off Fulton Industrial Blvd! It used to really c
