  1. I agree. Stradial is a hoot. Plus, like me, he might need a Mayberry or two in stock....just in case.
  2. Could I please have one?? It's full moon, I'm under a lot of stress and I just might need a Mayberry in stock.
  3. A few late filers perhaps. But the majority of returns are filed in January and February, which is the reason this is now going public. Returns are bouncing because there were already returns filed early. One of the best ways to stop tax fraud is to file electronically early.
  4. It's common practice for tax/accounting firms to have print and digital copies of everything.
  5. Check the IRS "where's my refund" and the state "where's my refund". They have up-to-the-minute information. Block does not.
  6. If she was bipolar, she would not have qualified to buy a gun legally. Hard to take something you have no way of knowing about. The parents probably trusted her. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
  7. You can't force someone to take meds, so what you gonna do?
  8. Be wary of computer repair people, too. They could find your passwords and use them. I know two people who had problems with passwords having been changed after having their computer repaired.
  9. Considering my mother in law, the grandmother of six kids, nothing surprises me.
  10. Why them? Is that his bank? If a fraudulent tax return was filed, the refund was not deposited into anyone else's account UNLESS the person filing the return used THEIR account number. They only go to the account number on the return, regardless of name. So, as a friend of mine has found out this past week, you must be careful when entering that information. I hope everything works out well. I don't know the people at C&C very well, but have heard of them for years and have talked to one of them several times. Probably every accounting office in Paulding is saying, there but for
  11. We never had any information compromised and several of our clients found out fraudulent tax returns had been filed on them when we went to file them. It happens. My point is if the information is secure, C&C did what they should have done in order to keep it secure. What happens if someone steals computers and overrides security is a totally different matter. Obviously, it can be done. BUT tax prep firms MUST secure that information as best they can. Maybe Pubby needs to check his source again.
  12. Your daughter must be from the same planet my husband is. I've often thought he was from Vulcan. Grammar mistakes are like nails on a chalkboard to me. So are misspellings. Then again, I'm a word person not a numbers person (sorry Pubby).
  13. That is because they believe everything they hear. Eat low fat and you'll lose weight. WRONG! Eat low carb and you will lose weight. WRONG! Eat high protein and you will lose weight. WRONG! Leave off this or that and you will lose weight. WRONG AGAIN! And my personal favorite, order a diet drink with that Big Mac and fries.
  14. My husband would. He could do it in his head AND know there was wrong information in there.
  15. And we wonder why kids don't seem to be learning. Could it be because some of the teachers don't know WTF they are doing?
  16. At least I don't get a headache from eating sugar. Give me a diet drink with aspartame and I have a headache within 15 minutes.
  17. Sugar is actually part of the problem in heart disease, too. It causes the cholesterol to be processed by the body differently.
  18. Most likely the teacher didn't write the problem.
  19. Pubby said his "source" did not confirm fraudulent tax returns were filed". Since this is late February, I'd venture to say 50% or better or their returns had already been filed. Most people who know they are getting a refund file early. Hence, the "second look" ads for H&R Block now as opposed to "let us do your return" ads they had been running. By the end of February, those types of tax prep firms are dead. The main group of people who have not filed yet are the small business owners or those who know they will have to pay. Like me.
  20. Not many of them are willing to pay hefty fines or lose their ability to file tax returns.
  21. That's usually how it works. It will eventually come.
  22. Daughter and son in law filed 1/30 and got check in the mail last Friday. I filed for them, online, requesting a check.
