I had had cortisone shots before the one in my heel and I have had cortisone shots after that but that mother hurt like none other. I felt like the doctor was trying to ram that needle up into my chest (and felt like he got it there). I have a very high tolerance for pain but I thought I was going to pass out. Seriously. They had to help me off the table. Keep in mind, I kept on working one time through 10 mg of Demerol so for me to have to have help getting off the exam table shows how painful that injection was. But a half hour later, the pain from the injection went away and a few day

It was quoted prior to her withdrawing it. If she wants to request it, I would imagine Pubby could close the topic or even edit out the comments that were copied. I know I had requested that in the past and it was done (I guess by Pubby but I don't know). As I told a friend of mine who is facing a surgery that could quite possibly end her life (or extend it with a whole new life), there is nothing anyone else can do for you at this point. It's all up to you. I meant that with love to her and to you as well. It's just that there is only so much others can do for us. 99.9% of

The difference between medicine as a racket and a service

I generally cuss in Spanish. Sometimes Italian. Rarely in English. I'd need to save more than just enough to buy the condo. There's also the matter of insurance. For us, 30 miles from the beach in a 1500 sq ft house, it's right at 2 grand a year and that's with a huge deductible. I can't imagine what it would be for a condo at the beach. No thanks. Not sure how the Affordable (HA!) Health Care Act will impact denying payment for procedures that are to repair problems caused by non-covered procedures. I know the current way it works, an insurance company CAN deny paymen -
It's VERY scary.

I'm sure that time in the hospital and rehab is a fun time. And who the heck wants to be away from home IN EUROPE for as long as it takes for surgery and recovery from hip replacement. My own home is the best place for me to rehab. Heck, I don't even want to be down in Gulf Breeze, which is a 20 minute drive from here. I want to be HOME. We saved enough to pay for a condo at the beach for a month by my husband getting off pain meds for a year. So, your point? Your insurance company could, and likely would, deny coverage for any follow up surgery or medications. Unless they -

Yep, if you hear or see the ad with the happy, smiling, healthy person and then 2 out of every 3 of your friends is on the medication, you ....in the words of a departed friend of mine....gotta get in on that! -
Liver--too much iron and I have to avoid that. Raw oysters because they could kill me. Don't really care for any organ meat mostly because of the texture. Don't think I'd care for snails or haggis. Pretty much anything else that doesn't bite me first. Had fresh crab last night. It tried to escape. I was able to corral it with my kitchen tongs and get it back in the pot. Hubby would have brought home the shark he caught if he had known how to clean it and had some idea how to cook it. LOVE venison but haven't had any in a long time. Haven't tried gator but

My sister rode her bike all over Smyrna. Up to Dickson's Shopping Center, up to Belmont Hills, anywhere she wanted to go until she started driving. I used to get out and walk, too. Usually with a cousin or my dad but I generally went to the neighbor's houses by myself. When I say "neighbor" I am not talking right next door. One neighbor was really out of sight unless you went on the front porch and leaned over to look. I'd go to my grandmother's house, actually on another road and to my cousins house, also on that other road. My now 20 year old granddaughter was riding MARTA to sch

As long as the public believes what it is told about any issue, there will be problems and wastefulness. How many people in the US who are on prescriptions really don't need them and wouldn't be on them if they lived in another country? -
I did a little research. Seems you can actually break up heel spurs. If it's just fasciitis, there isn't much you can do to break that up. It has to have progressed to actual bone spurs. And it's not always a good idea to do so. I still believe that the OPs husband had a cortisone injection. Here are several sites that explain how to get rid of them: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Heel-Spurs http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/bone-spur-topic-overview?page=2

I've had them and worked for years in doctor's office where they were treated. I've never heard of "breaking them up". It's an inflammation. Is it possible the doctor gave a cortisone injection? I had one of those in my heel when my plantar fasiciitis got really bad. Hurt like &U*(&(!! But once the pain from the injection went away, so did the pain in general. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

It's primarily because every Tom, Dick and Harry sees the ad on TV for the boner pills or the cholesterol meds or the arthritis meds and EVERYONE else is taking these, so Tom, Dick and Harry should as well. That means a trip a month to the doctor, plus lab work and tests and then the prescriptions every single month. Seems like half the people I know are in pain management, too. That's a visit to the pain specialist once a month, plus labs and prescriptions (my husband was on four prescriptions which apparently is a small number). Then there are the cardiac specialists and their la -
I need to get 100 subscribers to my youtube channel
Mama Carol replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, why are you here??? After all, this place reminds you when trick or treating takes place every year. C'mon Pubster!! Let's get 100 subscribers for the channel. I want to see live stream again. Although, it won't be as interesting as the courthouse view. I guess you could set it up and watch people going in and out of the convenience store. -
It's not always the fault of the parent or their parenting. My oldest stepdaughter is just like her paternal grandmother in that she is greedy, sneaky, mean-spirited and spiteful. That is NOT how we raised her but that is certainly how she is. She is totally unlike her two sisters who are loving, caring, giving and forgiving. That IS how we raised them all. Why the one is so different we have no clue. I guess different people just come through childhood and their teen years differently, even with the same parents because they experience and react to things in their own way. Even identic

If you don't want to subscribe or watch, then don't. I appreciate Pubby posting this. I subscribed to his Youtube channel and I hope he gets enough subscribers to do live streaming video. I loved it when he had the live stream overlooking Courthouse Square. -
Something tells me they weren't going after the typical west Cobb/Paulding resident. Maybe the Bentwater, Brookstone type of customer but not the typical customer from the area.
-
Glad to know it's not just me who thinks that.

Yeah, I hear you. My dad took me out back of the house and taught me how to shoot. Back then the only thing behind the house was woods and pretty far beyond that was my cousin's, aunt and grandmother's houses. Oh, and the old sewer plant. I couldn't have hit any of them had I tried. Funny how things have changed over there. I understand gunshots are quite common now. Not so much target practice like you and I used to do.
-
I predict by this time next year. I, too, hope I'm wrong but unfortunately, I know Paulding and West Cobb residents too well to have much hope that it won't happen.

Make sure they do move-ins and move-outs. Or else you'll likely get just a basic cleaning.

LOL. Probably not part of the job description but certainly what they do. Just be aware that the person who takes your application at the Social Security office is NOT the person who makes the decision. The decision is actually made by an outside agency. Obviously one that has it's head in the sand and has no friggin' clue about what some jobs involve.

Appeal. Get an attorney if necessary. They get paid when you get paid. What about SSI?

Yeah, Emilio seems to be the most stable of the entire bunch. Charlie is just plain friggin' nuts. And before anyone jumps on me for that comment, I want to say that the ONLY TV show I watch with any kind of regularity is "Two and a Half Men". It's rare that I miss it. I can quote dialogue.
