Here where we live, we don't have problems with them but if we go down to the bay, the flies are awful. Yep, you get in the water and they might light on you but they don't tend to bite you if you're in the water. Hubby was in the water up to his waist yesterday and had some land on him but they didn't bite. He got out of the water and they covered him up.

We have lots of those but our biggest problem is biting flies. None of the bug repellents work against them. NONE. And they bite the crap out of you. I had three biting in the same place the other day. Hubby went out fishing yesterday and came home after about an hour due to the flies. They were the only thing biting yesterday.

No More Nepotism At The Douglas Co. DA's Office

I could give you a huge hug for that post!!! You are absolutely correct--just because someone is fragile, elderly or sick does NOT give them a pass and the people they damaged are under no obligation to care for them. I constantly hear from my sister in law "I have to take care of Mom all by myself with NO help from anyone". Well, maybe if Mom had been a loving, caring mother and grandmother, my sister in law wouldn't be stuck doing all the care. We feel NO obligation to help someone who never protected my husband, his siblings, our children, her other grandchildren or anyone but hers

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but business names for non-commerce members are not allowed in topic titles. When I saw it I thought to myself "that's going to get edited". I would imagine he was unhappy about service or something. I've heard of others who were not happy with that dealership about service.

Can't say I blame the kids if she treated them that way. It almost seems like being a lying two-faced patsy to say nothing but good things about a horrible person. Shame they didn't do the obit before she died and gave her a copy of it. And double shame on the newspaper for pulling it.

In case anyone is interested, the AG has apologized. -
Execution delayed so politician can attend fundraiser

The COURT, i.e., the state, had asked for delays twice so what's the big deal for a politician who wants to be present (and may be required to be present) to ask for a delay? It would seem to be inappropriate for the delay not to be granted in view of the fact that the state had asked for delays in the past. -
This may be controversial, but here it is anyway.

They're OK. I don't go out of my way to watch them but I don't go out of it to avoid them either. I do like slapstick, physical comedy though. Always liked Laurel and Hardy and Abbott and Costello better. -

What's a few more days when justice has been delayed for 25 years. Seriously. So he's executed October 1 instead of September 10. His execution won't bring either victim back. He should have been executed YEARS ago but since he wasn't and the court has asked for stays in the past, what's the big deal about the AG asking for a delay? -
You won't find that either. It's not true. Part-time, full-time, temp none of those matter except for a very few exceptions involving young people, full time students working at their school and the disabled. Minimum wage paid in Georgia MUST meet federal minimum wage, as the federal is higher. Again: Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the federal minimum wage for covered nonexempt employees is $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. Many states also have minimum wage laws. Where an employee is subject to both the state and federal minimum wage laws, the employee is entitl

It MUST pay the federal minimum wage regardless. Whichever gives the employee the best protection is the labor law that is followed. BTW, I've done payroll since 1974. How long have you done it? I have several certificates in payroll. How many do you have? I've taken a number of courses in payroll. How many have you taken? I've done payroll in several states. How many states have you done payroll in? And again, you're incorrect about it being the lowest one. Several states have no state mandated minimum wage but ALL states must pay AT LEAST the federal minimum wage. If a state

It's because it doesn't exist. Nope, it's $7.25 an hour. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the federal minimum wage for covered nonexempt employees is $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. Many states also have minimum wage laws. Where an employee is subject to both the state and federal minimum wage laws, the employee is entitled to the higher minimum wage rate. BTW, that came from the US Department of Labor so if you disagree, contact them about it. I'm sure you can set them straight about what a lousy place Georgia is.

May I recommend the book "All The Devils Are Here". It's a real eye opener. Jimmy personally didn't create predatory lending but it came into vogue during his administration because of the administration's view that home ownership was the American dream and EVERYONE should be able to buy one whether or not they could afford on. The administration's policies created predatory lending. Sorry to say that about a Democrat. Sometimes I wish I had moved to Mexico when Carter was elected. I threatened to. Do your research TP. If Wall Street goes down, so does everything else. Remembe

YOUR GOVERNMENT PROTECTING YOU FROM YOURSELF, AGAIN

I stood up to a good Baptist when I was about 20 or 21. They never knew what hit them. They were wrong, dead wrong, and were proven to be wrong.
