Dr. Neal Berman at Berman Chiropractic & Rehab PM for contact info. www.bermanfamilychiropractic.com I have been to MANY chiropractors in my life. Starting when I was just a teen, and I am now in my late 40's. There are good ones and bad ones. Dr. Berman is the best one I have ever been to. I have had some serious issues, nerve pain, dizziness, weakness in my arm and shoulder. Neorologist and orthos just wanted to give me drugs and shots in my neck. After a few weeks with Dr. B I was much, much better. He helped me when the "real" drs were ready to give up. He will work wit

Is Illegal College Student Receiving Special Treatment?
Squiggle replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I do feel for her, because she was only 10 when she was brought into the country illegally-10 years olds do what their parents tell them for the most part. I am sure they didn't give her a choice. BUT-she and her family and anyone else in the country illegally should ALL be deported. If a US student was in in Mexico illegally, there wouldn't even be a question. We have laws for a reason, and as someone whose daughter is a student at KSU, I do not think the school should have involved themselves in this situation. It makes them look like they are supportive of people being here illegally. I fee -
My Father NEVER talks on the phone when he is driving. He is one of the most careful drivers I have ever seen. If it could happne to him, it can happen to anyone. It may be different now, but when he had his accident he was at the crossing and a truck coming the other way blinded him, so he stopped-next thing he knew there was a bright light and and a train hitting his car. He never heard a horn and HAD looked both ways. The train must have been right at the curve when he looked, then the few seconds he waited for the truck to get over the tracks was enough time for the train to hit him. And w

I commend them for doing something, but obviously, it was not enough. I ownder how much flashing lights would cost? With all of the lawsuits against the RR now, it could have been paid for instead of legal fees to fight the lawsuits.

It is a horrible crossing. When the train is coming from Powder Springs towards Dallas you can't hear the horn until it is very close to the intersection and the way it curves you don't see the light until it is around the bend. Since my father's accident in 2007 there have been 3 other cars/trucks hit there. If they aren't able to put up crossing arms, they could of at least put up warning lights that go off when a train is coming. And maybe a sign warning that several accidents have happened there! How many people are going to have to die there before something is done?

Has anyone heard what is going on at the train crossing behind the theater in Hiram? My daughter just got home from driving that way and saw cars, police, fire rescue and an ambulance. It really freaked her out, because my dad was hit there a few years ago. I would really appreciate it if anyone can let me know what is going on. I just hope and pray no one was hurt-or worse. I saw a car "beat" the train there the other night and it scared me to death!

January took pictures of my college age kids yesterday and they are AWESOME! It is my Mother's Day present. The pictures are so much more "them" than any they have ever had taken. Getting my son to loosen up in front of a camera is no easy feat, but the pictures look so natural. Thanks 200 Images!

Does it have to be a Paulding business? My sister has a hair salon in Powder Springs. She might be interested in doing this. -

I have to work, so I can't be there. Can you call and book an appt for half price? or is the offer only for people in attendance? This is a GREAT idea for Mother's Day! (hint, hint to my kids. lol) -
When my son gratuated in 2003 we had a party and paid for him to go on his senior trip with his classmates to the Bahamas. He really enjoyed it, but says he would have had a better time with family because most of the other kids went out drinking at the clubs at night and he wanted to go to the beach and explore during the day. Most nights he was in his room by 9, calling me. lol. He wasn't much of a partier at 18. My daughter graduated in 2007. I got together with a bunch of chorus parents and we had a big graduation party for them. Each kid had a table with their "stuff" on it. I made a fi

Call WeCare MD in Hiram and tell them your situation. They can tell you over the phone how much it will be. Also, Dr. Berman, (678) 567-0566 (the BEST chiro in the world IMO) on the East/West Conn. is wonderful and will work with you if you tell him your situation. He may not be able to give you a shot, but has great therapies that help me as much or more than a shot would. I know how you feel. At one point I was planning trips to the bathroom because it hurt so much to get up and down and walk. I hope you feel better soon.

I have grown to accept Paulding's southernisms. lol. I do have 1 pet peeve about the good old english language. I hate it when people say FER instead of FOR. Listen, you will be amazed at how many people do. Maybe, like me, you will catch yourself doing it.

Get an attorney. I, unfortunately, have experience in this. I thought if you ar ehonest, and don't try to take advantage, you will get what is right. WRONG! I waited until the last minute-when my 2 year time limit was almost up. Frustrated, I called and met with several attorneys. Most were nice, but no help in the long run. Lee Bodner was so much help. He talked to me over the phone, gave me honest legal advice, didn't try to pressure me and actually made a phone call that got me more money than I could have ever gotten on my own. And when the ins co. realized I had an attorney they were alo

I grew up going to Cobb County schools, a looong time ago. Moved to Hiram when my kids (who are grown now) were 1 and 4 and they went to school in Paulding County until my youngest started high school. So I have experienced both school systems. My kids got a great education and had a wonderful experience in elem school. Except for the fact that district lines kept changing and I finally decided to school choice my son (and later my daughter) to Hiram Elem to keep them in one place. My son did great in middle school, he is gifted and schoolwork came easily to him. Although I can't say anythi

Dinner / Supper ... call it what you want?!?!

We had grilled porterhouse t-bones from FL, a salad and squash casserole. it was VERY good, even better since my son cooked the steaks and I didn't have to. lol -
I have been to MacFarlane's many times, and love the karaoke nights. My kids are grown, so the over 21 thing doesn't bother me -BUT, I probably won't be going back there because I hate cigarette smoke. I don't think those type businesses fair well in the Hiram area either. Buffalo's has probably done ok because they also have the restaurant side, but Capalbo's closed a little while after they changed over. I hope they don't wind up regretting the change. I hate to see local businesses folding.(even if I don't want to go there, cough, cough, lol)

Good for you! DirectV called me last week and thanked me for being a loyal customer. Then offered me 5 months of EVERY channel they offer, (except PPV's) and lowered my bill by $2.00 a month permanently. I hear people gripe about comcast all the time, I tell them to switch to directv. They have been good to us, and like you, we never lost our service during the flood, except for a few minutes when the rain was really heavy.

Chili's is closed until the boil water thing is over, I think. My daughter works there and as of today they are still closed.

I live here in the old historic section and my house is fine, but 3 of my relative have flooded basements and leaky roofs. The old apartments flooded, as well as the Powder Springs museum and the entire area at the park. My husband has been trying to get to my Dad's house since yesterday to put some tarps on the roof and can't get there no matter which way he tries. He just left to try again. I am keeping my fingers crossed. -

Here is another recipe. The easiest, most foolproof I have ever made: Foolproof Chocolate Fudge 3 cups (18 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 (14-ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk) Dash salt 1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract Instructions In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk and salt. Remove from heat; stir in nuts (otpional) and vanilla. Spread evenly into wax paper lined 8-or 9-inch square pan. Chill 2 hours or until firm. Turn fudge onto cutting board

Does anyone know what nights of the week does McFarlane's have karaoke? Thanks!

I totally understand your point. I don't even like taking an advil unless I am in serious pain. But after a bad car accident whick broke both bones in my right leg and caused me to walk with a slight limp, I have to be as close to the ground as possible. I can't even wear a small heel anymore. And if my child had some other issue that would make his life harder, I would check into options and do anything I could to help. For instance, if I had twins who were conjoined...surgery would be a huge risk, but their quality of life would benefit so much by being separated. Sometimes you have to w
