  1. I am almost positive that the lady in the minivan was killed at the "Poole" and Rosedale crossing. Closing the other crossing had to do more with politics and negotiations concerning the East Hiram Parkway than anything else.
  2. Someone explain to me why the 2000 census matters. Maybe I wasn't as acutely aware of the crooks running the country then, or maybe I was making so much money that I didn't care, or maybe I trusted George Bush more than I trust Obama (stupid on my part but maybe I did). The pint is, what the heck does the 2000 census and my attitude toward it have to do with my opinion of the census today?
  3. You so mean. And if I may borrow one of statements, you don't even know me.....
  4. I thought there was a question on the tax forms about the dependent living with you. If not, wouldn't that be cheaper than the money spent for this silly census? Ooops, forgot. This is a government operation, no need to worry about the cost.
  5. Yeah, I would go $50k but not $70. I read an article that said this truck was derived from a Baja 1000 scout truck. Not exactly a race truck, but not that far removed. And you're right, no flash here. This is all power and suspension. I'm thinking I could write it off as a farm vehicle.
  6. Not a good place to be on this topic. Watcha back. And what's the problem with everyone fending for themselves? Do you feel you have a right to part of what is mine?
  7. Ohhh, now I get it. You're one of those all or nothing types. How about just enough government to GOVERN. I am actually okay with the idea of privatizing all fire and medical on a pay as you go basis. Why should I pay to furnish fire and rescue for someone else. A private company would be far more efficient.
  8. I do work for the owner of one of the teams and I have NEVER felt inclined to give some of it back.
  9. Usually either someone is a dependent or they will be filing a return. Enlighten me.
  10. My civic responsibility is telling them how many people live in my house. That way they can determine how many representatives we have in Washington. Even this I find to be ridiculous since (like so many other have said SO many times) they already have that info. They should ask the IRS.
  11. It's funny how this seems to be split down party lines. The democrats don't have a problem with it and the ones that do have a problem with it are republicans or at least conservatives. Whether the census information is over the top or not, I find it interesting that the two sides can see the same government so differently. I am Vietnam era, anti-establishment type. Didn't like government then and don't like it a bit more now. I don't really care what anyone thinks of that, I have seen how much this country loves me when they shipped 58,000 of my fellow Americans to Southeast Asia t
  12. It's all George Bush's fault.......oh wait, he's not around anymore. Must be because Barack Obama hates country music.
  13. Is that an old Packard - Nash in the background? R/T was my favorite muscle car.
  14. That reminds me of the Buffett song THE WEATHER IS HERE, I WISH YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL. No smell of bubbling crude? Media hype?
  15. It might not be that bad of an investment. Have you ever watched the Barrett-Jackson Auction? I think I'll stick to my old Dodge for now. Almost as much horsepower and way more torque. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  16. I don't know if I just got my ass chewed out or a pat on the back. If I bought one it would be for my own personal enjoyment (and I do enjoy horsepower), so I wouldn't really care how it made everyone else feel. Sorry, that's just how I roll.
  17. I saw one on 285 last week. I would pay the price of the Platinum 150 for it, but I refuse to pay more than "sticker" price for anything.
  18. This is an SVT vehicle. Ford is only building 5,000 of them so only certain dealers are getting any and most of them will only get one a year. This ain't your daddy's pick up. It comes with 400 horsepower, 400 foot pounds of torque......translated, this truck will make your ears touch behind your head. It also has an off road suspension that is the real deal. Personally, I love the horsepower and torque but I'm not taking a truck like this off road. The short answer: It's a big boy toy. Sometimes we just need a new toy. I am way too tight to pay that much for a toy
  19. Actually that is standard operating procedure.
  20. Haven't looked at the Mustang. I am used to driving pick ups and SUVs. I drove my nephews new Camaro and realized that I was a little uncomfortable in a car, but I might still look at one. This Raptor is a bad boy with 400 hp and 400 ft lbs of torque.
  21. I am starting to look for a new vehicle. Probably another pick up but possibly a Tahoe or even a car. Then I saw one of these the other day. Everything I read about them said the price started at $38k. I guess they REALLY mean start at $38k because the dealer I talked to was talking about $70k. Who in their right mind would pay $70k for a flippin pick up? Good looking truck, I just can't see $70,000.
