Look Ithy, Jerry smeared himself. As soon as he lost his adviser and financier he was going in circles in the bottom of the toilet. When he got caught lying about the email, the undecided voters in the county finally saw that what mean ol' Whitey, Suepip and Feelip had been screaming was the gospel. Back anyone you like little guy, but lay off my ass when it comes to pointing out that someone was part of a former regime. Those people damn near destroyed the county. Can't see that it makes any difference actually. It will be interesting to see if she can beat the Shearin kiss of death AND defeat someone that played a large role in defeating Shearin. Yep, that will be interesting to see.

A big green egg has once again made it to the top of my "gotta have one" list. They are pricey but I have never heard one complain about the price once they have one. I'm just not sure if it is because they feel foolish for spending that much or if they like it that much. Are they worth the money? What size do you have? What size would you buy if you could trade yours in for a new one?

I am 5 minutes from the orange place and 20 minutes from Douglasville Ace. Except for electrical (only because HD has Ms. Rakestraw who knows more about electrical things than anyone I know), I go to ACE for just about everything. They also are the only place around that carries parts for my mower.

The only tarnish that sticks is of the self-inflicted variety. Can't blame anyone else for that. Todd Pownell has shown his ability to make the roaches scurry and Paulding County has been needing someone with this ability for many years now. JMO too.

Oh I see. You are trying to make this look like she only knew about it when Todd Pownall brought it up at the BOC meeting? Clever but most of us are way smarter than that. I'm thinking I would have been in Shearin's office a day or two before saying "I am not going to be a part of this. Either come clean or count me out." We all make (and pay for) mistakes.

Sounds to me like she should have been thinking "Do I want this job or do I want a future in politics?" I want to elect people that are painfully honest. That means honesty being at the top of the list even if it hurts me or you. And by the way, that not going public crap only works when you have been sworn to secrecy because of the nature of your job, such as CIA agents. Being a county manager and not exposing an action that has the smell of corruption does not qualify.

Todd was able to FORCE Shearin to engage in an argument instead of the usual rolling his eyes and smirking at the other commissioners like the lowly citizen that was speaking was far less intelligent. And once Shearin engaged, it didn't take long to see why Shearin didn't debate with any of the citizens in the past (or why he didn't go to law school). I loved it. My take? Anyone that was associated with the Shearin regime or the School Bond double jeopardy act will NEVER get my vote and I will work against them tooth and nail to keep them out of office.

We could have done without the school bond and a few of the new school buildings. We definitely could have done without the courthouse / county government buildings. All the people in charge four years ago could see was feeding the housing market because that's where they were all making their money. I plan to try my best to keep any of those people from ever holding public office again.

I agree. The more conservative (and obviously more intelligent) voters voted down the school bond. It wasn't passed until the BOE called in favors from Jerry Shearin and his "yes men" that were on the Board of Commissioners at that time, and they called in all the vendors that were in their pockets. The school bond WAS forced on the tax payers by the self-serving politicians that were running this county.
