  1. That's not how it is done. boring details
  2. Never been to Charleston but thinking about going soon.
  3. I hear the Varsity is having a special on FOs today.
  4. Your account of the movie is about as accurate as some of the other crap you are spewing.
  5. Brilliant! So why let the media know about it.
  6. Made me think of this quote from our last real president: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours. And recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his. Just insert Obama for Jimmy Carter and the quote will be just as true today as it was then.
  7. The reason Obama appeals to so many young people is that he demonstrates the "borrowing yourself out of debt theory" that most young people want so bad to be real. And as usual, the people that know how to manage their money and aren't addicted to instant gratification will be punished for them behaving like spoiled brats. The word "earn" means nothing to most young people these days because their parents were in a contest with other parents to see who could give their brat the most "stuff". And the scary part is that generation is now old enough to vote. Just don't tell them they can v
  8. You seem to have it all figured out Scootie. How about posting the rest of us a map to your utopia. I still say our only hope is an all out revolution.
  9. The historic president's aunt is an illegal alien from Kenya. She was granted amnesty yesterday. What a bunch of horse sh*t. Look for Obama to buy himself 22 million votes by granting amnesty to all the Mexicans. If this happens we will have lost our country. It is time for a revolt.
  10. My point was that this area of Georgia was a battlefield. A lot of the people living here now had ancestors that lived here during the war. Stories have been handed down through generations. There was an absolute hate of anyone from the north back then and it hasn't completely faded away. Not unlike the WTC and people's attitude toward muslims. And then you have the rednecks that have a completely different reason for hating yankees. Now there's some screwed up folks.
  11. I have a friend who is in his mid-70s, his mother died when she was in her 90s, her mother in her 90s as well. Their family has lived on Hiram Lithia and Hill roads since before the civil war. I wasn't exactly accurate about first hand, but it's not that far removed. Regardless, this is why there is still some of the attitude. Like I said before, welcome south brother, just don't bother telling me how y'all did sh*t back home.
  12. Andersonville isn't in a northern state. Whining? I was trying to explain the attitude that some people here still have. I couldn't care less.
  13. I have liked Handel since she was on the Atlanta City Council. I'm just not sure that someone that has no college degree should be running the state. Not that I think she is incapable, I see it as more of an image she is projecting. But then again, we have had too many crooked lawyers running the state. The best thing about the election is that Sonny Perdue is not a candidate.
  14. I agree. I was providing an explanation of why some people still feel the way they feel. Of course those are the same people that would say "I just can't drive in Atlanta", which has never made any sense to me. Some folks just need to get out every now and then. Live on the edge.
  15. Before all you folks from the north get your feelings all hurt I think you need to realize a couple of things. The war ended 145 years ago. That means that there are people living in this area that were told first hand from their ancestors about the atrocities that happened during the war. Some right here in Paulding County. The union soldiers were known to rape women that were left alone because their husbands were fighting the war. There was a lady that lived on Hiram - Lithia Road that kept a pot of water boiling 24 hours a day to throw on someone that might try to rape her.
  16. Yeah, because when I think BEAUTY the first thing that pops into my mind is DETROIT.
  17. Can someone tell me why the black "leaders" are jumping to this girl's defense? Are they just without a cause now that the historical president has been elected? I heard a black journalist on the GA Gang this morning say the Cobb County Sherrif was this week's biggest loser. WTS?
  18. So why the hell do we have a Nigerian working for the UNITED STATES postal service to start with?

  20. Seems like I read somewhere that crossing arms cost in excess of $100,000. Don't look for anyone to be forking out that kind of money if they don't have to. I do think the county and Mr. Paris (the guy developing the surrounding property) did a good job improving that crossing.
  21. Rosedale is used as a bypass to miss the traffic on 278 and those people FLY. Trying to judge the speed of the cars coming from two directions, watch for left turning traffic from Metromont and making sure you don't get nailed by a train. It can get intense at times. I think a 4-way stop would be a good thing here. The rumor is that these RR tracks are going to be 4 tracks wide in the future. The bridge for the East Hiram Parkway id designed to span the tracks. This is likely the reason they are not spending the money for crossing arms at this time. It wouldn't surprise me to see thi
