  1. I'll find out and let you know. It was not lead based, as this was only 3 years ago when I had it painted. But the guy is a genius!!! He knows all about this stuff. I can tell you one thing- this paint was XXXXpensive!~! But it's only for the trim. The base paint on the siding is not a problem because it's not thick enough for bees to use (and they know this....WOW!). I know he used Duron on the siding. Carpenter bees will only burrow into something that is a certain thickness, and most siding does not come close to that. 2x4's are their favorite homes.
  2. Well, that left me blank!!! There's something magical about Schubert & Ginger Ale that I can't quite explain....but it's one thing I like as much as a fine Scotch on the rocks!....ok...well, close.
  3. "Jesus loves me, this I know, from the smiles you fellow's show"....... See there....THAT JUST AINT RIGHT!!! I'm old school, and I think church should be a Holy thing.
  4. Sealants were not my first choice, but I have used certain paints on my trim when I lived in Marietta that the bees would not touch...although they would fly around and check it out. Also had my trim painted here at my home in PC, and same thing...NO carpenter bees. I'll have to ask my painter what kind he used, but he said that the bees would not get through it....and he was right.
  5. A BUSY person is a HAPPY person!!!
  6. This reminds me of a "Gospel Harvester" church thing I went to one time...chicks in leotards, dancing around.....crazy stuff.(for a church thing) It was like going on a deep sea fishing trip with the guys in PC, FL the night just before...when we all went to those gentleman's clubs. Sorry....just not the kind of idea I have and hold dear about what church should be. Church should be a Holy Place. The exact opposite of a ti....nudey bar. I gave up on regular church when all the new wave crap came along and tried to bring in new members by using secular tactics. That's called "selling ou
  7. For one thing, the time change just sucks. About 2 months ago, I was feeling sore from working, but no problem, then the time change!! Ughh!! I'm getting used to it now, but it took so long, then you add the misery of allergies..I dang near thought I was gonna die before I could get into the swing. Trick is- MAKE yourself get up, and MAKE yourself get busy!!! It will get better, trust me. It's so tempting to want to lazy out, sleep late, etc. but all of those things just make it worse. You have to FORCE yourself up, and get busy!! Good luck!! btw, it took almost 2 months for me to get through
  8. Okay folks....MOST of these insects are completely benign. You don't have to wage a war on them, like the US does on anything it doesn't like (or can secretly make LOTS of money from) .... Just know a few things...most wasps are meat eaters, so they will show up when you're grilling meat or something. They have no interest in you, or harming you. However, if you SQUISH one (especially yeller jackets) the blood (or bee juice, whatever) that squirts out of their bodies when smashed, gives off a chemical smell that will make the rest of the tribe VERY aggressive!!! Spattering a wasp is just a
  9. Please do!! Thanks! If you could PM me the info on what it is, and your address and number, that would expedite things greatly.
  10. Exactly...that's why we never got stung by one. Yellow Jackets (Vespula Wasps) are probably the most agreesive, right up there with Hornets. But I still think Yellow Jackets are worse.
  11. If you have any broken down mowers that you want hauled away, give me a call at 678-315-8794. All I need is a little info to see if it's worth picking them up to use for spare parts or to rebuild. Thanks!! Glenn
  12. Dirt Daubers as I call them. I have an old style camper shell on my truck. There are literally hundreds of them in the lining around the windows. I bombed the back of the truck 2 days ago, and they're already back. Luckily, they are very passive, and will almost never sting you or bite you unless you just make it unbearable for them.
  13. Today's gasoline contains up to 10% ethanol (alcohol) which can wreak havoc on small engines. To keep your mowers and other outdoor equipment running in TOP SHAPE, please make sure that you have FRESH gas in your gas can. Plastic containers are much better than metal ones. And most importantly, use a stabilizer in your outdoor equipment gasoline!!! I use a product called STA-BIL. A $12 bottle of this will last you for a few years, because it only takes 2 oz's to treat 5 gallons of gasoline. I would recommend getting TWO containers. Most department stores have a deal on getting a 5 gallon tank
  14. Yep! Simply Southern is playing at Birdies Wings this Saturday night!!!
  15. Glad you made it in one piece!! Now....STAY in touch with us!....ya hear??
  16. Having just purchased 1,000 bizz cards, I would agree. The main point is contact info, phone, addy, (and email address)...I forgot that one, since I had just created a website right about the same time I ordered my cards. You use your website for all the nice pics. I guess it's what someone really wise once told me about them- they are SMALL, and most people over 40 need reading glasses to read them, so you wanna focus on the written info more than anything else. JMO....but my opinion is not so much mine as it is good friends who run their own bizz...most are older than me, so I just list
  17. Actually, they sell VERY FAST on craigslist. I just like to offer them to my local folks before I go that route. I also reduce the price for pcommers before I post them on craigslist. And yep...they're all very nice. I put quite a bit of time in every one to make sure you're not buying junk. They're all very reliable, plus craigslist doesn't give you a 30 day warranty. I just like to keep bizz within my part of town as much as possible.
  18. As some of the mowers have sold, and new ones have been rebuilt, have a look at my sales page on my website, and see what you'd like to have. All mowers are fully reconditioned, and should give you great service for a long time if properly maintained. All mowers for sale can be viewed on MY WEBSITE, or you can go directly to the sales page by clicking HERE. Just call me, Glenn at 678-315-8794, anytime from noon and later. These are some really good deals folks. All of my resales are fully reconditioned to give you trouble free service, only for a fraction of the cost you'd pay for a new on
  19. No can do...I am an Outlook Diehard!!! I like to have all my correspondence saved in my own hard drive. I know a lot of people don't usually mess with Outlook, but from a business perspective, it's a MUST. Instant notification's, prepped up signatures, etc. Once you get the hang of using Outlook you'll be hooked for life. Apparently their pop servers must be under repair or something. I know my programs are fine, but the way Outlook retrieves mail (from Comcast, in my case) the pop servers do all the sending and receiving. It's just super convenient. My mechanic never used it either, but after
  20. Honestly, it just a vacuum cleaner. I bought a cheap Hoover upright many years ago for about $50. When it died many years later, I went out and bought ANOTHER cheap Hoover upright for $50 again. It works about as good as anything you'll find anywhere, but the trick it this -SERVICE IT!!! I take mine down into the shop about every 3 months and clear out all the crap on the brush, then use the air compresser to clear the junk out, clean the filters, etc. Always keep the bags changed when they're about 3/4 full. Most any 12 amp motor upright will last years and do a GREAT job as long as you keep
  21. Nobody? No one's having trouble with Comcast mail retrieval (via Outlook) but me tonight? I'm going crazy over here!!
  22. Very fine machine!! Toro 6.5 HP engine, custom built. Terrific engine mounted onto another frame that was in great condition. Runs great, front wheel self propelled transmission has been rebuilt, and I included a grease fitting so this trans will last for YEARS as long as you grease it once a year. Brand new Toro Atomic Blade. When completed it will also feature a new drive belt and new front wheels for getting a good grip on the yard when you engage the drive unit. Also has the original Toro bagging unit. Can be used as a mulcher, or side discharge, or with the bag. This is a $500 lawn mower
