  1. There are a number of ways, some more complex than others. Try C.C.'s link and see how that works for you.
  2. If you've never met the man, you're missing something good in life. He gave me some computer equipment that I used to make my main computer sit up and dance!!! Thank you, sir....everything plugged right in, and my comp is a screamin' demon now!! I certainly appreciate it. I was up until about 2 a.m. getting everything in place, updating drivers, etc. but it made my machine more than TWICE what it was.....and it was already pretty dang nice. Now I've got more than enough HD space to start loading Hi-Def music flicks from my HD FlipCam, and barely even make a dent in the space I have now. I also
  3. You've always been an upbeat, and very nice guy ever since I've known you. And you sing GREAT too!!
  4. Sounds like your power supply/fan is acting up. I just had mine replaced because it would shut down just like that. That's a system (MB) problem though. It shouldn't affect your hard drive.
  5. You know I think the world of you- you certainly have a positive disposition, but frankly, one of the reasons I stopped watching the news is because what I heard fell into sharp contrast with what I continue to see. If this makes you a happy camper, then by all means....keep on truckin'!! Heck...it's hard enough to find anything that would be considered good news these days. But in all honesty, the REAL DEAL is that I am still watching foreclosures continue without wavering a bit, just in my 1 mile radius. The banks own almost half the homes within my area now....and there's no signs
  6. You nailed it, bro!!! In all fairness though...I completely understand people who have no one else to talk to, and rely on forums such as this. I don't agree that that's a good thing to do, but I have had my share of lonely nights and this was the only place I could get some feed back...or at the least, a little encouragement.
  7. I may get some "heat" for saying this....but things like Facebook can create problems for kids that folks my age never had around. I have 2 teen girls, and they are pretty good kids. I also have many of their friends on my page too....you can see the disturbing effects of this very easily. Since iphones, and other multi-media gadgets have fallen into the hands of our kids, their lives will in no way resemble those of us who are older and are parents to these kids. This new technology not only increases the ebb and flow of gossip, back-stabbings, and other verbal abuse, but it takes on its
  8. Not a bad idea....I was raised on coffee since I was 3 yrs. old.
  9. I've been here for about 7 years, and I've ran into a "few", but most were either the standard license checks, and a couple of times they were on the look out for someone in particular (like a manhunt). Never had a problem with the guys though. I did get a warning for not having my seat belt on while driving my truck, because the law had just been passed and most people didn't know it had been passed yet. (seat belts in trucks). A lot of this depends on your schedule...on weekend nights I am leaving the clubs at about 1:30-2:30 a.m. You can usually expect to run into something, but since i
  10. It can also be as simple as an undercover officer offering you drugs, rather than him/her waiting on you to offer to them. I know my share of narcs. They can even partake, but they cannot offer you...they can make an offer though.
  11. Nitro is correct- refusing a search is clearly within your rights, barring the obvious....reefer stench, empty beer cans, etc.
  12. This is a fact...solution? DON'T SMOKE POT WHILE YOU'RE IN YOUR CAR!!! Being drunk is not advisable either. Having said that, and there are no "aroma's" in the car.....stand your ground.
  13. Money Get away You get a good job with good pay and you're okay Money It's a gas Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash New car, caviar, four star daydream Think I'll buy me a football team Money Well, get back I'm all right Jack Keep your hands off of my stack Money It's a hit Don't give me that do goody good bullcheeze I'm in the high-fidelity first class travelling set I think I need a Lear jet Money It's a crime Share it fairly But don't take a slice of my pie Money So they say Is the root of all evil today Sorry for the C & P, but they say it
  14. Best of luck to you!!! It's gonna be TOUGH after this many years, so give it yer all, and hang in there!! You might could say I am re-entering the work force too...only it will be playing for a Lynryd Skynyrd cover band, featuring the one and only Bob Burns. (Drummer for the first two albums before Artimus Pyle took the drums) Audition for some other guys I have in mind will be on the 20th!!
  15. Dang!!! My head is hurting...I'm glad I know how to fix my own comps! System support??? Don't need it, if you know your comps. Extended warranties are for suckers. Last time I checked DELL is simply another plant processing MB's for a huge conglomerate. It's really no different than auto's...What you think is a Pontiac Vibe is also a Toyota Matrix, and so forth. When it comes down to brass tacks...INTEL is the place to go for support on most systems....The guru who came up with it all...the processor to begin with. ??????
  16. I often have, and still do. Lately, I've been pulling 16 hour days, so it's not as easy as it used to be....and what sucks is that I LOVE to cook!!! I'm good at it too! I've got two daughters and they're pretty darn good at cooking too....we've got mom's back!! But we all know one thing...NO ONE can cook like my wife! She's the guru of grub!!
  17. Hence the Pandora's box I mentioned. My own personal belief, (and this strays away from kids) but when you look at the over-abundance of anti-depressants and those who take them, I have also researched this quite a bit. And while I would not DARE insinuate that that people who take them fit this profile, but the stat's are pretty overwhelming- The vast number of people who take them were less than truthful with their doctors about their past, which included some illicit drug use...including alcohol. After so many years of anti-depressants on the market, some new facts are coming to li
  18. All in all, that was a great summary of the how it works....plus you can always throw in plenty of "fear" from the media...we already know this works wonders in getting society to toss out their rights in favor of "safety". Yep....and that's about all it's good for, besides cleaning wounds and degreasing engines.
  19. I have had what they call ADD all my life. I never even knew they had meds for it until I was almost 40. Discipline was TOUGH in my days as a kid growing up. As a result of having ADD, there were two sides, one positive and one negative, though the positive FAR outweighed the negative. Negative: I brought home my share of "deficiency slips" as they were called back in my day, but all of them were for talking too much, couldn't sit still, fidgety, etc. Result? I got a few paddlings, but mostly things like I spent my entire 3rd grade year with my desk being moved right beside the teacher's d
  20. Pretty much the same for me every night- I have NO idea. I just wait for my wife to holler, "come and git it!!" But since she found out she broke her foot yesterday, I'll probably be scrounging around the kitchen this evening.
  21. I would re-phrase that part, since we all know this is lining someones' pockets with money. As long as money takes the place of public servitude and serving the public trust, then we have no prayer of enduring much longer.
  22. Nothing like the government to raise the price of the poison they mix with our gasoline, eh?
  23. That intersection has a history of fatal accidents. I don't know why exactly, but accidents happen right there a lot, and many of them are really bad.
  24. Good idea! I grew up in Smyrna too (it wasn't me, btw!)
