  1. I'm still taking orders for this service. Also spent a little more money improving the process, so give me a call or PM if you need some old memories copied to last a lifetime!
  2. I keep older computers around that still have floppy drives in them, just for those purposes. Call me if you need any help. 678-315-8794. Glenn
  3. Try opening the CD (view folders & contents), then make a new folder. Set your folder options to show hidden files, then drag and drop the content from the CD into this new folder. After transferring the data to your computer (the new folder), look for a file that has ".exe" as its extension. Click on that file and see what happens. If it begins setup, then you may be good to go...no promises, but that would be the first thing I would try.
  4. I'm running a 15% off tune up special on mowers all next week, so give me a call if you want to take advantage of the special, and have your mower ready to go to work in a few more weeks! Most tune ups can be done at your residence, as long as you have a garage with a solid floor and a power outlet. Call for a free estimate today! Also, please check out my website for additional information, right HERE Glenn 678-315-8794
  5. Although rare, such viruses do exist. But as long as you have a REALLY GOOD AV program, you should be safe as long as you're not physically downloading or opening things that are suspect. If the disc can't be formatted then it is probably toast. I always keep a copy of 95 and 98 to format with sometimes, as well as a bootable floppy disc (with a floppy player I plug into the MB. If it still won't format, then the HD is most likely dead. Just be careful...I repair computers as a side business, and I have repaired MANY computers that some shops had told the customer that the HD was fried, or the
  6. I am still having to work in Carroll Co. for now, but as soon as business gets booming again, I am ready to set up operations in my home county of Paulding. Repairs on mowers, weed eaters, blowers, gas golf carts, ATV's, and more. Welding and steel work also available. Pick up and delivery options available. Please visit my website for information, contact forms, FAQ's, and rates. MY WEBSITE All of you good folks out there, drop me a line, and let's get you up and running for spring time!! The quicker I can get business moving, the sooner I can open up my prospective shop in Hiram. Ca
  7. Why always, "let's pass another law" keep popping up? If normal people would just laugh them to scorn, maybe we could at least quell the problem somewhat. Throw out your political correctness crap, and just tell em straight up- "dude, you look like a frikkin looney tune" (making sure you're laughing as hard as possible! Screw making another law, especially a fashion law (cept maybe not running around nekkid in public).
  8. Sorry, I guess I missed that. I just noticed that a lot of the white bags are everywhere because it's that time of year when they do the roadside cleanups. Luckily, I don't see many of the ones you're talking about in my area....but I do see my share of fast food bags along the roads, and it just pisses me off that people would do that.
  9. That's sort of a trick question, simply because I think it's totally different for girls and guys. Regarding guys, when I was growing up, my dad used a terrific strategy...he started charging me rent as soon as I graduated and got a job. The rent he charged was about what it would have cost me to find a room mate, so voila!! I found a room mate in short order! Now that I am a father to two GIRLS, things have a different tone. I have done all I can to raise my girls to be self-supportive and not have to rely on a man for anything, or as little as possible. However, they ARE girls. As long as th
  10. Hell, I'm just glad I don't even understand the whole rating thing. All I've ever paid attention to was getting "atta-boys" or whatever they're called. So far, I seem to be in good standing with the people who carry any clout.....that's good enough for me. I'm not interested in any popularity contests, that's for sure.
  11. In the past couple of weeks I have been offering tape-to-CD conversions for people who have older cassette tapes they want in digital format (and burned to CD). This is a MUST if you have tapes of valuable memories/songs that you want to keep for a lifetime. Analog tape degrades over time, so the sooner you have them digitized and burned to CD's the better. They will not age any longer!! I have digitized a lot of my older tapes from the 80's a year or two back. I have just now completed an excellent workstation to take care of this for you, including state of the art recording programs, and a
  12. If you need to get those broken down mowers hauled away, give me a call. I'm going to be making rounds and picking up everything from mowers to weed eaters, blowers, tillers, whatever you want taken away (outdoor equipment only, please). All I ask is that the riding mowers have tires that can at least be inflated long enough to get on my trailer. Call me, Glenn, at 678-315-8794. If I can't get to the phone in time, please leave a message with a call back number and I'll call you as soon as possible!! Thanks folks! p.s. I may be getting called back in to do some civil engineering work
  13. For those who don't know it, the probationers do this EVERY YEAR about the same time. They fill the bags with trash, then leave them for the proper trucks to come by and pick them up. This takes a week or two, always has. No dead bodies, no anthrax, etc. It's just business as usual in the county. No need to freak out. I have passed them picking up trash in several locales all over the county the past couple of days. I figured most people have, as well.
  14. I went with Audacity again...for a free program, its really does do a great job!
  15. Yep, and I also used to use Audiograbber but it's been a while.
  16. That pretty much tells the story, right there. I've tried more than a few, but I thought it would be a great idea to LISTEN to what other comp folk would recommend. I'm fixing to undergo a large project of converting a bunch of tapes into CD format for someone. I have been using Audacity for a while, but it's almost overkill, considering I only want a simple audio recorder (some audio features are good, and some filters) but that's about it. I need simplicity, yet good sound quality. Thanks for any ideas.
  17. I'm speechless! That was so inspiring, I'm C&P ing this to my pals and gals. (I rarely do that, but this was really good stuff!)
  18. The wind's whooping (or at least it was) but I aint seen no sno' yit! I love that idea!! I'm on it right now!
  19. Sorry, I mis-read this. I've always considered "L.A." to mean "Lower Austell"....in which case I could have said there's pretty much NOTHING to do! 'cept maybe watch a train go by and count the cars on it.
  20. Being 100% broke, I certainly agree with you! I did call my trash company, explained my plight, and they were kind enough to let me make a half payment to keep service going. I like to think that's a "pay it forward" kind of thing because I have two cans and seldom need the spare. So, if one of my neighbors is behind and needs to use one of my cans for a short while, I always let them. I should add that me and my neighbors share a close bond with each other; a rare thing from what I read on pcom. Having good neighbors means more to me than the value of my house, or any other thing regard
