  1. I have found through experience than a LOT of people who say that, have not been in those shoes. What does NOT amaze me is that when those people actually go through the situation, they break the doors down to get their kids out. It's easy to talk like a hard-ass until the shoe winds up on your foot. Having said that, if my kid did it a SECOND time, I would be SLOWER about getting them out. Still doesn't mean I wouldn't do it in the end. I told my daughter that a DUI carries a 48 hour stay in jail, so if she ever got one....I might wait until the time is up, else she would have to go right ba
  2. I was doing this for a short while, but honestly, bizz (mowers) have taken over my time. If you still have the H8 camcorder, then it should be a cake walk. You can buy a DVD burner for $50 at Wally World. It's all in real time, not to your computer, but it's easy to use and finalizes your copies to format them to work in any standard player.
  3. Things are picking up! Give us a call!
  4. I opted for a 6 pack of XX's!! Glad I did too!! Really hit the spot after my hellish weekend.
  5. I wanted some wine tonight, but the only place selling wine charges WAY too much for it, so it looks like a 6 pack of beer for me tonight. I've pretty much stopped drinking beer in favor of wine. Maybe I'm just getting old, or my tastes have changed.
  6. I got offers from a couple of good friends, but my GF is preferring the one at the end of Ridge, because she'll be using it quite a bit and that's so close to me. Thanks guys!
  7. That's their whole strategy....to cloud matters, numb minds and get votes for, often times, underhanded deals in the wings.
  8. Key word here is PROPOSED. I highly doubt that the GA House will vote in a measure that stymies small business while giving larger ones an uneven break. Just my projected thoughts. We'll have to see. I do see your point though...I mean who wouldn't?
  9. If you have a GOOD CPA who sets up a Corp, S-Corp, LLC, whatever, then you're doing well as long as you're making good profits. Having a good CPA is a major key in making money for small businesses. Sure, you pay a lot in taxes, but just the money you can save by dealing directly with the manufacturers makes it more than worth it. Most repair shops actually make as much from sales as they do from repairs. Of course, this also translates into the repair side too, since replacement parts cost a fraction as much as retail. As long as you have a demand for the services, then the work is there. The
  10. I'm thinking at least 10x12, but if the price was right I would really prefer a 10x16.
  11. I'd call Cedarcrest. They are commerce members here, and the guy made me a sweet deal on my shop computer. If you just need a HD to use for a while, I have SATA's and 1 or 2 IDE's you're welcome to use until you get set up. I tend to slave 2 or 3 HD's on my computers so I have a few lying around. Not large, but probably more than adequate. Also have the SATA cable if you need that. PM if interested or call me. 678-315-8794. Glenn
  12. For convenience purposes, I like the location of the one on Hwy 92 by Ridge Road. But I also have a customer who owns some units, so I'm hoping he'll see this and chime in. Another reason I ask is because of security- when my x-wife and I first moved out here from Marietta, we were using a storage place and it got ransacked and they took everything we had. (turns out it was the #$%&'d manager's BF who already had a record for theft.) So, I can appreciate the value of a very secure place, but also would like a place close to home. I hope it's okay to post this here....you mods can move
  13. Things are certainly picking up the past week, so keep us in mind if you need a good tune up or repairs on your outdoor equipment. Most items we repair on the spot, although some items may require a haul into the shop. Either way, people seem to like the convenience of not having to bother with any hauling equipment. Please visit my website for policy, work hours and rates, as well as lots of information to help you keep your equipment running a LONG time. WEBSITE Please call us at 678-315-8794. I highly recommend viewing the website because it will answer a lot of your questions befo
  14. That's not her then...her name starts with a "T".
  15. Yeah, she certainly was. I still talk to her a bit on FB. She's still a hoot too!
  16. As long as it's owned by someone, then the buck has to stop somewhere.
  17. I'm incapable of destroying anything...intentionally, anyway. Have a good night~
  18. While this is true, don't the moderators still play an important part in making this a welcoming place to come to? As the 40th member of this site, I have seen many years of cycles. It really does concern me when I sit down and click the RECENT TOPICS button and notice a major drop off in participators. Surely, you would be concerned as well, right? BTW- I'm working on my schedule this week to find time to come back up there and finish up....but you still owe me a dance!
  19. Indeed she is! Her hubby is a nice feller too. Good people!
  20. You are certainly right that a thick skin is required to take some replies, but I still remember a time when people who were only here just to be mean as hell, were warned and sometimes banned for a period of time. I don't see much of that anymore. Having said that, I still tip my hat to some of the good moderators who were there to save my reputation when a mindless moron would try to tear me a new one for no reason at all.
  21. I understand your point completely. And while it's true that an open board tries to stay away from censorship, better moderating can always take care of the "nasty" ones, or at least inappropriate comments. We have freedom of speech in this country, HOWEVER, this is a privately owned and operated website, so those rules do not necessarily apply. I admit that I DO love dissenting opinions, as we all learn from such things. But when it comes down to downright @$$hole remarks, I have no problem with bullets or deletion entirely. Granted, Gleemp, the often reckless and even childish remarks (fully
  22. Things are picking up, finally! I just wanted to thank those of you who have called and trusted us with your equipment. I hope to see many more of you in the coming weeks!
  23. Well, that's a GOOD reason! I'm just gonna keep this one on my truck for landscaping jobs. It's more valuable for that than to sell it.
  24. Yeah.....and Subby can't figure out why no one would buy a very good chainsaw for only $50!!!! I guess I'll just keep the derned thang!
  25. I am still based in Carrollton for the time being, but I am available for mobile calls, pick ups and deliveries in Hiram and Dallas, and north Douglasville. If you're looking for a highly experienced small engine technician, please give me a call. We repair lawn mowers and outdoor equipment, but also ATV's, golf carts (gasoline powered), generators, and basically anything with a 20 HP engine or smaller. Since the season is about to get rolling, drop me a line if you want to get that mower tuned up, new or sharpened blades, and just a good "once over" to make sure you'll have no problems this y
