  1. Sounds good! Don't forget me....I've talked to a lot of friends who think what we talked about would be a great idea. (Piano on the patio). Glenn
  2. I, too, am tired of the thread. Punishment? YES!! Felony....absurd. To stamp young teens with that is counterproductive...you ruin their chance at being a fruitful citizen. But I am all too familiar with people who would just as soon lynch them without a trial, not understanding the impact of what a felony charge will do to destroy a young life. God help us all and save our kids from draconian (and IMO, emotionally detached) people who simply do not understand the err of their thinking.
  3. You guys should get like a piano player to sit out on the sidewalk and jam!!! Just a thought!
  4. I see your point, but I just don't see people boycotting stores like that, hence the word convenience.
  5. TAKE away all cell phones, car keys, and permission to have friends over. These are the 3 things that people seem to lewt slide, when in fact they are the KEY to the problem in the first place. Secondly, put the fear of God into them. I just don't know how to put it any other way. My 19 yr old daughter chose to live with me instead of her mother. She gets some perks living with me- my schedule is a late one, and includes playing music at night, letting her sing her heart out, etc. Granted I don't have a disrespect problem because I took care of that when she was young....very young. When s
  6. Boycotting convenient stores is rather silly, IMO. The vendors in these stores probably don't have a clue about this crap...they just sell what's legal and make their money. Nuff said bout that. IF REAL pot was legal, then not only would it stop the problem, but it could be taxed to pay off our nation's debt. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE dies from real pot......yet the "war on drugs" persists, which is still a matter of "cha-ching"....making money for the authorities (most who already know pot poses no threat). Modern marijuana has higher THC content to the point that getting high on it
  7. My kids (2 daughters) have quite a few black friends. After moving beyond the shock of my upbringings as a child, I have learned a thing or two.....these kids only call me by one name- POP. I embrace them as my own, and they look to me as their father figure. Black or White? Personally, I don't give a rat's ass anymore. Some of these kids are in peril..they need a man, a father, to guide them. What kind of man would I be to deny my experience and wisdom to them? so, they are black men....so what? They are still good young men who only need someone to guide them. I'll be damned if I don't take
  8. Come on folks!!! We've got this major A-HOLE running Iran....this freak of nature is tripping out our suppliers. I would like to remind everyone also...while CRUDE has a price, AMERICA is still the NO. 1 country who turns USELESS CRUDE into gasoline. Crude aint worth a damned nickle without the ability to process it into gasoline, diesel, etc. We as Americans should be ashamed for not moving beyond fossil fuels. We as Americans should have the balls to shove a @#$%&& missile right into Iran and make it a really nice skating rink! Each comment has its own meaning. Take
  9. I am not a teetotaler, but with age I have learned the value in slowing down. There was a time when I was scared, but like I said in my previous post, that was MANY years ago. I don't think "scared" is a good word....let's just say I had a game plan to escape unscathed!!
  10. Bars get a bad rap all too often. I have played at this bar MANY times, and can't recall a single fight while playing all night long. In fact, bar fights are something I almost never see anymore, at any given bar. When I started playing clubs, I was only 18 yrs old, and it was 1983. I saw fights all the time. This went on for several years, but it just started fading away with time. The last two times I saw a bar fight, it was at the same club in Marietta. In fact, it included a couple of my band mates, who jumped off the stage to tear a couple of trouble makers away from their wives, who were
  11. Welcome to pcom! I left you a VM, btw, regarding entertainment.
  12. I deal with them pretty regularly. I rely on them for all my Honda and Toro parts, and they've always done me very well.
  13. That's very easy to believe. As a former civil engineer/designer in residential development, I saw all of this happening at least one year before the public did. Oh, and BTW, there is NO HOPE on the horizon. I do not expect a turn up in residential development for a minimum of 10 years. Even then, it won't be like it is now. People who are well off are in a position to scoop up land at the same rates they were in the late 70's. By the time all of this comes full circle, I can't honestly tell you what to expect. It's something I've never seen before (and I did survive the crunch of the late 80'
  14. I agree with your post, so far! We did some crazy and sometimes mean things as kids, but setting another kid on fire.....well, that never crossed our minds. We were STILL humans, not rabid animals.
  15. Rebuilt mowers are something I do in the off-season when repairs are at a stand still. Repairs are in full swing, so we have very little time to mess with rebuilding used mowers. However, as usual, when something does comes our way I ALWAYS post it here before I post to craigslist to try to keep business in our county. Just keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks. Thanks! Glenn 678-315-8794. Having said that, people are really enjoying the mobile service and low cost for pick up and delivery. Give us a call if we can do anything for you. We service all brands you can think of from
  16. Dang... I just finished another today.
  17. If it doesn't fall under the warranty, feel free to give me a call after you get some quotes on repairs. 678-315-8794 Glenn I service a lot of Hondas.
  18. Mine fluctuates with how many women are here at any given point of time! (seriously!). If you have any doubts though, try to find your main shut off valve- turn it off then go outside and check the red needle on your meter. It is entirely possible you could have a leak where the service from your meter joins next to your foundation. I had this problem only 3-4 years ago.
  19. And how are you doing these days, old friend?? Miss ya! We've gotta go out and kick up our heels again soon~
  20. Until things get to a certain point I am still working my dad's shop for mower repairs. If anyone needs repairs made on mowers, tillers, weed eaters, blowers, ....anything with a gasoline engine under 25 HP, give me a call. I can pick up items and bring them to my dad's shop to repair them and bring them back to you. Dad's not doing well lately, so I may end up just taking over his business in Carrollton before too much longer. But since I still reside in Hiram, it's not too hard to pick up equipment on my way down there to work for the day. Glenn 678-315-8794
  21. Hang in there girl!! You aint alone. My GF's nucle (defacto father and longtime musician friend of mine) has been hovering over possible death for over a week. My dad's blood count is 14 (red cells) so there're trying to get his high enough for major surgery, and a couple of other calamities we are dealing with at my house....all at once. But I remain positive- I have the best woman on the planet to help me as I help her, my kids are good, and business is starting to pick up for the season. I have to concentrate on the good things so the bad things don't overwhelm me. You aint alone! You also
  22. Good post! A felony will ruin your life, keep you from getting a job and....well....ruin your life. I don't see how that can offer any incentive to a youngster. You basically put them in a position to survive the only way they can...illegally. Why not just tell them straight up, "sell dope! You aint eligible to get a real job and be a meaningful part of society". Nice....really nice. Kids are dumb...should they be robbed of a chance of growing up because of something dumb they did? May as well take em out back and shoot 'em. For public safety reasons, ya know?
  23. For the record, although I may get my kid outa jail, it sure as hell wont be followed with a slap on the wrist.
  24. I would agree with this, then subject my kid to MY OWN form of discipline. They'd probably preferred the jail. If someone is worried about their kids being with the wrong crowd, I would point out that the inmates are probably the worst crowd they could be spending time with.
