  1. However, that said...only a certain sect of society falls into the cat of law enforcement. It's not like a "job" that anyone goes after. It takes a special kind person to take on such a thing.....IMO. I am friends and family with so much law enforcement...I know the super IQ ones, and the regular Joe's....they still all share that common trait though that made them decide to get into law enforment...it sure aint the money!! I'm sure any cop on here would agree....it's in your blood just like other things are to other people.
  2. I almost retorted, just before I read the article...MAN!!! That is whack!! I was thking a pointless deal on a litmus test to be a cop, but NO....if you're REALLY frikkin smart, then YOU have to worry....that's pretty efd up yall.
  3. And the hackers in our country that the FBI busts and offers jobs to to reduce their sentence...where are they?? How can malware possibly infect such a protected domain with former hackers at the helm, who are living the good life on a great govmt' wage??? Just somthing to think about. GOOD hackers seldom reach prison after making a deal with the feds.....right???
  4. The problem is not about getting what I pay for...it's paying MORE and MORE and MORE for the same service.
  5. You're mighty welcome. I backed up your files last night. It may be Monday before I can get back over there to load them though....kids and plans are popping up for Sunday. Hope that's okay.
  6. I have ATT's supposedly fasted internet service....well...in short, IT BLOWS, BIG TIME!! I have to stupid my movie resolution down to watch VUDU and even Netflix HD will stall regularly. This never happened with Comcast, but the price was just getting outrageous. Is there ANYTHING out there that's fast besides them? I did look into Uverse...it seems to be on par with Comcast, but hell, it's twice as much. I've been building computers to sell and a slow internet connection is killing me on downloading drivers, chipsets, etc. Any ideas?
  7. This was a concerning thing to me, as I have always loved that man's voice!! The last thing I like to read are comments that basically spit on him for not being perfect, as if anyone is. This man had an incredible life that most of us will never know or understand. HIs calamity should not be related to his life as a major player in the world of country music. Where has respect gone these days??? Jeepers!! His first agent went far and beyond just to get Travis straightened up when he was very young. She did a great job...took a stoner, apathic soul with no goals, but an amazing voice, and t
  8. That's a cold statement when you've dealt with KIDS and family who got mired in the same old crap. By your sole statement I would assume you have NO kids, adn if you did, you would have a different tone about this. Nuff said. @$%&ing "new-wave" republicans!! It's nice to be young and CORRECT 100% of the time when you are in the younger age bracket. All I'm saying is have you walked in this guy's shoes??? Do you not know how far he came before all of his fame came along? Know what he had to give up just to get his first record sold?? No??? I didn't think so, but alas, some of us k
  9. Great soapbox, btw~~ I used to post a lot of positive threads....and still try to although I don't have as much time as I used to. Sometimes I post GRIPE threads, but I try to do so in a way that most all of us agree, and just pile on the dung, if you know what I mean. Sometimes, it's good to vent, but you don't wanna over-do it, and if you do, try to make the thread inclusive enough for others to feel your pain.
  10. It looks like I've got too much of a good thing.....too much RAIN!!! This has slowed the pace, so now is a great time to call for repairs, while the ground is wet and muddy~~ Glenn 678-315-8794 Thanks!
  11. Hey!!! 'member those TROLLS that lived under the old Concord Road Bridge...the covered bridge??? You could stop in there and set out a pair of shoes, turn off the lights and listen...then turn them back on and the shoes were gone!!!???? member that??? They're still there!!! I just unloaded 3 pairs of crappy shoes last week!! Thank goodness for trolls who take pride in their footwear!!
  12. No!!! There was NO DUCK!!! ALthough a limo with Chinese plates did arrive at the scene where said duck's body was supposedly taken.
  13. So, how's your budget on puppy pads, food and shots??? We refer to the wheels on this vehicle as "puppy squashers".... NOTE: SUBBY ENTERPRISES DOES NOT ENDORSE, NOR IMPLY ANY NEGATIVE ACTIONS TAKEN TOWARDS OUR FUTURE "MAN'S BEST FRIENDS". THE IMAGE SHOWN IS FOR HUMOR ONLY, ALBEIT SOMEWHAT DARK IN NATURE". THANK YOU.
  14. I love the idea as long as the business did not "stand out" among the others in the hood. Bizz is bizz...starting out is not easy...in fact, impossible until you have enough capital to buy or rent a store front. How can one attain this goal without first testing the waters to see if they have something profitable??
  15. BTW, you need to report to the "Human Resources Dept" headed by Mr. Bacon for your.....uh....let's just call it....uh...thought reconditioning. Just kiddin, Max-Factor!!! The place was dieing and you restored her back to health...albeit with different demographics, but hey.....whatever works, right???
  16. So shall it be, initiated in this (hang on, I gotta flip my calendar to JULY) .....okay...this 3rd of July, in the Year of our Lord, 2013, that Nana shall become one of us...THE SMYRNANITES!!!! Long live her name for our due cause!! :clapping: and the crowd shouted???? AMEN!!!! :yahoo:
  17. Please keep that on the down low as I will be the prosocuting attorney in this case!! Where did you get your info???? Very little lightning is associated with this storm, thus far......it's those pesky puppies that have my concern!! Where are your priorities, man!!!!???
  18. That is so funny!!! I designed much of the "so-called" Vinings that was actually in Mableton. Most of the developers were not from here, so they didn't see the folly in this. They just went with what marketers told them was an advantageous POV in naming them as such. Hey, I made plenty of money from designing the developments, but the inside joke remained as we went along with the projects. BTW, Vinings also included several Smyrna (Jonquil) projects as well. Outside developers did their homework, to say the least. Talk about marketing!! I hereby declare thee a bona-fide Mabletonite
  19. Call me stupid (yeah, you can do that, it's your right) but I would think a little rain would make it SAFER to blow off fireworks than had it been a dry two previous weeks. They make these things called UMBRELLAS that you can use to cover your head. CAn anyone see the folly in this except for me? I guess I could understand the dangers of "trekking" to said place of events, but aint that a personal decision? (Lest someone have a wreck to or from the event and shout, "It's THEIR fault!! They lured me in!!!"......) Your thoughts? And you all know damned well why this has taken place. No r
  20. I was only referring to the Marietta Square Parade and Fireworks, et. al. There may be other events outside the area I am not aware of.
  21. ALL EVENTS ON THE MARIETTA SQUARE ARE CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER. I was told this by the owner of Hemingway's. The band will NOT be playing on Thursday, but we will be playing on Friday and Saturday nights. Thanks! Subby / Glenn
  22. I can shed more light on this when I get back from the Marietta Square. We are slated to play there Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights. We are going today to set up our rig because of the traffic expected tomorrow, which would make things dang near impossible.
  23. I got some info from a fellow pcommer last night that I'm going to look into.
