  1. Me too. A "friend" said "they" saw the vehicle in their rearview mirror and called 911. Couldn't get a tag, but they gave a good description of the vehicle and the driver. Attempted to follow, but the car was driving too fast and dangerously. Saw lots of police activity a little later in the area, but my friend didn't stick around.
  2. A young person in a car took out at least one mailbox and side-swiped a car on Ridge Road yesterday after 5 p.m. Heard police were looking for the car which also went down Mein Mitchell and possibly ran some more cars off the road. Just curious if they found him?
  3. That is because the programs are almost free at state tech schools. Don't forget about coosa valley tech (georgia northwestern tech college), etc --- they have campuses in rockmart and rome.
  4. Roger, I am so sorry for your loss. The Carson family sends their condolences.
  5. Solenoid or faulty key switch not turning all the way off....Not leaving your lights on, right? Could also be a bad alternator. Good luck
  6. I agree. I don't have any other details. All I could make out was that some type of vehicle was probably on its side down the embankment. Either someone lost control or ran off the road to avoid hitting someone/thing.
  7. Vehicle off embankment at Aiken Grading across from Paulding Co. HS. The SO's said it would be awhile. Ambulance, fire truck, GSP, and SO is on scene. Flatbed rolled up while I was there. Avoid area this morning. Road is completely blocked.
  8. It's a little hot outside, but the renaissance festival has 1/2 price tickets all weekend (monday too) $9.99 --- When we go, we don't spend alot on the extras - there is plenty of "free" stuff to do once you get in. Some of the shows are excellent & worth tipping though.
  9. Yeah, that was funny, but the speaker was very "patient" waiting to finish.
  10. I didn't have cowbells or air-horns either, although I did clap and woohoo for son and even a few others. I also choked back a tear during Bridgette Barron's parents acceptance of her diploma. Heck, I had a few tears during the first song they played. For the most part, it was a wonderful ceremony. I was on the visitor's side. I didn't hear cowbells, but the air-horns became very annoying and I smiled when the 5 year-olds air-horn FINALLY died. Yeah, someone gave the kid an air-horn. I really found it disrespectful to listen to all the chitter-chatter and cell-phone conversations dur
  11. My little "Blizzard Baby" will be walking tonight. Can't even express proud I am of him and his friends. Good Luck to all of you!!!
  12. would someone pm me the password again please .... thanks
  13. They have already been named for my little 5 year old. Scooby-Doo is a favorite. She is starting to outgrow Dora though. Disney princesses and Barbie are still good. My son loved Thomas when he was little and his young cousins are into superheroes Batman and Superman.
  14. How old is your son? It sometimes happens during fetal development and just could be finding about it now.
  15. What engine does it have? Do you have a part number or model number? I know a place that will check it and let you know if it's actually bad or not. It may just need a top. Those starters can be expensive. You might even can find a rebuilt one for around $50
  16. I have visions of Jimmy Jones dancing in my head. "You are only entitled your own thoughts, opinions, ideas if they agree with me. Otherwise they are invalid." "Just drink the juice, baby!" "Oh and the cliff jumpers meeting is tonight. Everybody who is somebody will be there. No ropes or parachutes allowed. And forget everything you were taught or raised to believe in. Leave your morals, standards, and beliefs behind with the ropes and parachutes. You won't need them. Just blindly follow us. We know what's best for you." It's called Freedom of Choice. I won't be dictated to
  17. I have actually been on both ends of the stick on this one. I have borrowed money that took me YEARS to pay back simply because of the situation I was in. Fortunately, it was family and they understood. I never borrowed from friends. If I loaned money, it was with no real attachments. I knew I would likely never see it again and have been wrong a few times. I also know better than to expect a person to apply money the way they say they will. That's why I am particular on who it goes to. I needed help at one time, that is why I help if I am able. Where I work, I actually lec
  18. I live in the middle of a straight away. I pull out and I'll be danged if I feel like I have to floor it to get avoid being rear-ended by someone who wasn't even at the turn 5 seconds ago. It does take my vehicle a moment or two to get up to speed. And they love riding my tail all the way to the red-light. I refuse to go above the 45 mph speed limit if they decide to ride my tail. And I give plenty of notice for turning into my driveway. There have been at least 3 accidents caused by turning into our driveway which, ironically, hasn't actually involved any of us directly. Someone a
  19. Impressive, and I mean that. If I were on the fence on the issue, you would have persuaded me to jump on your side due to your response. Because of my history on the subject, I can't vote for it. But because of you I understand why someone would, even though that is not the specific reason many voters will cast their vote for Sunday sales.
  20. Technically it happened 4 a.m. Sunday morning, but probably has nothing to do with purchasing alcohol on Sunday. It just was unfortunately coincidence that it occurred while I have been thinking about this topic. Just happened to confirm my opinion FOR ME is justified.
  21. You are right. It doesn't mean what I (or you) do in the privacy of your own home right or wrong -legally and/or morally. I don't expect you, or anyone else, to delve into my life since I am not making it public or putting it up for discussion. I simply don't advocate for Sunday sales while others do. It is actually none of my business how others choose to vote. It's a free country and I can support whatever cause I choose. I haven't come on here and said one time that others should vote as I say or even condemn anyone for voting otherwise. It's your choice. I just expressed an op
  22. I guess you are making my point too. I just don't understand why people get angry if I am not voting with the majority. It's my right to vote different. Not gov't or anyone is going to tell me how to vote nor is a bunch people going to sway my vote. I still don't consider my opinion religious. It is my point of view just like you have yours. Not sure why it aggravates people to see another point of view. Oh well.

Thanks Riograce. We have the exact same answers.
  24. At 4 a.m. last night our phone rang. If My phone rings that late it is either an emergency (someone died or is very sick) or it's a wrong number. The caller was crying so hard I couldn't tell who it was or even if it was male or female. I didn't recognize the number. When I finally calmed the caller down, I discovered the person was drunk and needed a ride home. The person was on the road somewhere near Powder Springs and it sounded like they drove long enough to realize they shouldn't be driving. They caller had also been in a fight. The caller is a young person (above age 21-a
