Cheap way to finish small basement - DIY? humidity?
Jetsmom replied to Incabiker's topic in RECENT TOPICS
if they are sealing the inside of the wall only, then like the earlier poster said, you are just creating a dam and the water inside the blocks is going to cause long term problems. Also, the wall will sweat and still need moisture barrier behind the wood studs and drywall. There are lots to consider when stopping moisture, the gutter downspouts, the slope of the yard around the foundation, etc. Mold is all around you anyway. It is a problem in basements is because it is typically dark, wet/damp, and poor air circulation/venting. The key controlling it is to get fresh air circula -

Me too. Nice to know I am not alone.

I am impressed with you. You can do this. You will need family support and cooperation, though. Good Luck!!

To quote one of the online guides: "Supras cost so much because of their hype in movies such as the Fast and the Furious, and their superior racing potential in road course and drifting." The value is increased if it has a turbo and greatly increased if it is twin turbo one. You might want to check some of the supra forums out there to get a better idea of how much they are actually selling for. www.toyota-supra.info www.toyotanation.com www.supraforums.com

I'll check my ditch. Haven't noticed anything like that in the road.

Minnesota Dad Leaves Son Behind in Foreclosed Home
Jetsmom replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Technically, he left a note for the kid to go to his neighbor. Just saying he could have done a lot worse that what he did. Much better than murder or the side of a road. -
It happens more than you could imagine. Whether man or woman, it is wrong.

Just curious why you assume people who have them "sit around and listen" to scanners. Lots of various types people have them for many reasons. Some folks even make their living off of it. And no, I don't have one.

Minnesota Dad Leaves Son Behind in Foreclosed Home

Maybe he didn't want his child homeless, not knowing where his next meal or shower would come from. Maybe he just couldn't say good-bye. Could I do it? Almost impossible to even consider, but if it truly in the best interest of the child, maybe. I know some who would call folks selfish for keeping their kids regardless to the living situation. I don't know this guy's story, but at least he didn't leave in the desert or on the side of the road. He knew someone would be there for him and that someone wasn't him. Not saying what this guy did was the right thing to do, but at -
I would rather know vehicle descriptions however vague. I think it is information, but people should be careful. Recently I was told of an accident where a daycare van was possibly involved. Not having any real information + not wanting to panic people, I just listed...."van". Thankfully, it appears no one was hurt from the "van". I don't know. I would worry if I knew I had a loved one in the area and couldn't reach them. Knowing if it was a car, truck, van could eliminate the worry. (or make it worse). I'm going to worry period. Always will.

Thanks for the information. I will pass it along.

It's been over 6 years since I was in that job. Things may be different now.

Was she arrested? He doesn't have a problem filing, but he doesn't want her arrested. Crazy, but I guess I understand.
-
He has already left, he just didn't have a plan and no place to go fast enough. He has something lined up for a couple of weeks from now. The woman has a child involved, and he doesn't want the woman locked up. He has nothing but the clothes on his back.

Any sworn georgia officer (even off duty) can "hold" you for the locals to make the arrest or the citation. The other half of the issue is both officers would have to show up to court -- one to witness the incident & the other that actually wrote the citation / arrest. If it is an out-of-state officer, then it becomes more of an issue of "citizens arrest" and holding them until the locals arrive. Still, all involved would have to go to court to succeed with the charge / citation --- unless it is plead out like 95% of them are anyway. Someone can correct me if i am wrong, but i th

I heard something on clark howard a few months ago about insurance companies making their most profit with your auto coverage and least profit on home coverage. Sounds like they are playing the money game with you. Although, one would think that being a loyal customer since 1989 would mean something too.

I'm trying to talk him into it.

Would if I could, but it's not up to me.

He's working. Showed today bruised on the face with scratches. He doesn't have a facebook. His car won't make it too far. He's just in a rough spot. He said that in Georgia it is almost automatically always that man's fault and he's trying to avoid getting locked up because of a false claim on her part. She has no marks.

Have a friend who has been abused by HIS girlfriend. He has no place to go. He is working, but it will take a couple of weeks, at least to set something up. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Things may be different now with (very) recent changes in the program. If it has been awhile, try again. A couple of things. If a person already has prescription insurance, they probably won't qualify, just trying to prepare you. Of course, they can make exceptions. Also, many of these applications for the programs are online. Just fill in the blanks, but usually the doctor has to sign off on it.(They may charge for this) A copy of the prescription is also needed. -- I used to help seniors with these applications. A suggestion is to have both of the doctors write a letter e

Thank you. I didn't want to mention it was a daycare van and scare people. Might not have even had kids on it. I know it scared me. I really do appreciate the update. Now maybe I can focus on work.... Hope the driver will be ok. People don't realize how bad those bumps are on that bridge and go too fast. Can't wait until they get finished.

This is potentially a very accident involving many vehicles and a .... van. I don't have any personal details, but it was upsetting to hear about. If anyone has any info about it, please let me know. Would really like to hear the words "Minor". Sending prayers and good vibes to all involved + I would avoid the area.
