  1. Good morning! We have a Flash Flood Watch and a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service. They state fog is expected this morning, with storms this afternoon which could contain 1-3 inches of rain. Everyone please be extra careful today! National Weather Service - Forecast for Dallas, GA
  2. Some of the heating and air companies will offer finance plans. It might be worth looking into doing something like that in order to have a furnace installed immediately, then pay it off with your tax refund when you get it. We have central heating and air but I also have 2 of the "electric radiator type" of heaters that I purchased from Target. I have had one of them for over 5 years and it is still going. They now offer them with programmable temp and timer settings. My cats love the one that I keep in front of the fireplace. I highly recommend them as they have no kind of "red hot" coil
  3. FYI: Friday and Saturday night we will be in the 30s. Sunday night we will be in the 20s, so I would get it installed quickly. Good luck!
  4. Georgia is not the only state who is having a hearing on this issue.
  5. This is from the story in the AJC. http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/judges-order-in-birther-1313941.html "Marietta lawyer Melvin Goldstein, who is not involved in the case, said if the hearing goes on as scheduled without Obama, Malihi could refer the matter to a Fulton County Superior Court judge. It would be up to that judge to decide whether to enforce the subpoena and, if necessary, hold the president in contempt, Goldstein said"
  6. Yep, this is correct in the state of Georgia. My husband and I have done this together with seperate permits on the same day at a gun show. All we had to show was our permit, picture id (driver's license) and fill out the paper work. Each purchase took about 5-10 minutes. Have fun!
  7. I have heard a rumor that some of the plane parts from the crash are buried over there, but I don't know if it's true. Judging from some past experiences I can say that I seem to be slightly "sensitive" to the paranormal. However, we have lived in our house, which is very close to the park, for 14 years and I have never seen anything unusual like that here in our neighborhood or in the park.
  8. Thank you for the heads up. Ours will renew in February and we are also with Chase.
  9. If you click on the link above, then click on "visit actual registry", there is a message saying "It's a boy." I guess this answers our question. Great find TyberyMommy!
  10. I noticed last night that she is in TWO commercials that she appears to be very pregnant in. The first one is the one where she is putting on her lipstick and grabs her handheld scanner. At this point she turns sideway behind a counter/desk and her tummy is very noticible, then she walks out and remembers her cell phone. The second one is when she appears with the purple cartoon character. She bends down to it and her tummy is very noticible as she is bending down. Also her apron appears to be cut differently. I think the apron seam is usually around the waist, but in the two current
  11. Good morning! I don't think the rain is going to wait until this afternoon. Currently we have a line of small storms coming through Birmingham, Huntsville and Gadsden Alabama. Everyone be safe and have a great day.
  12. Here is the link to the Elections and Voter Registration Office in Dallas. This gives a physical address which is where I went to register. http://www.paulding....ex.aspx?nid=216 240 Constitution Blvd. Dallas, GA 30132 Ph: (770) 443-7503 Fx: (770) 443-7548 Hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  13. I am going to need instructions on how I can transfer MP3's to my new Iphone 4S. I guess I will have to change the file type of the MP3's to do this but I don't know how. Is there some sort of program that will convert them for me? I have no clue!
  14. I VERY much agree! I purchased a pack last year for probably the first time in 10 years. I took one bite and threw them away. They taste nothing like they used to.
  15. I am REALLY going to enjoy receiving my Kohl's or JcPenney's coupons through email on my phone, then I can simply show them to the cashier at the register! I am always leaving them at home. I know I will find many other uses but right now I am a smart phone newbie.
  16. Worldclass Automotive has recommended American Wrecker to us. They are local but will go all the way out to Atlanta and they are 24 hours. I was an absolute nervous wreck because it was the first time my car had ever quit on me and it sits really low to the ground. The driver of American Wrecker babied my car and was really patient with me. I will PM you their number. I am glad your son is ok.
  17. I have noticed that and I am also keeping an eye on Friday-Monday for the same reason. Although, typically rain does bring us slightly warmer temps due to the cloud cover and usually the moisture is coming from the Gulf which can make the rain warmer.
  18. Tonight and Tuesday night the temps will be in the teens. If you are concerned about freezing pipes, my suggestion would be to leave a couple of faucets on a SLOW drip in the kitchen or bathroom. Make sure to do this with COLD water as warm or hot water will freeze faster. It's one of those strange but true things.
  19. Yes! I have been waiting on an indoor pool in Paulding for over 15 years! We are building retirement communities in the area now but we have nothing in the form of workouts that the older community can participate in as a group. (We also have no public transportation. Combine these issues and I wonder what would make them want to move here?) I am not considered "elderly", but due to my arthritis I was advised years ago to start water exercise classes but I cannot find any close enough to me. The closest I have been able to find beginner water exercise type of classes is the YMCA off of Mars Hi
  20. Poor man doesn't know what he is missing.
  21. I agree. A typical 4th of July or New Year party here in our neighborhood will have about $300-$400 PER neighbor, PER event, spent on fireworks. This is of the neighbors who do buy them. We have had parties on our street that had well over $800 worth of fireworks before. Our millenium New Year party included almost $1000 of fireworks! That was the most ever spent on fireworks for one party on our street. (These costs are per party.) That is a ton of revenue that both the state and county are missing out on, every year. Happy New Year everyone!
  22. My husband has been snoring since 1am. However, he took an 8am flight from Chicago today after working 12 hour days all week, just so that he could be home for a day and half this weekend. I am awake but doing laundry and extremely tired with body aches/pain. My body feels older than my spirit is. In spirit I was singing along to Alanis songs with you guys.
  23. You can just call tomorrow and find out. Here is the link for the info. Rodney's for New Year's Feast Rodney's Home Page
  24. You are supposed to take water hoses or pressure sprayers and WET the roof tops and any dry grass areas where the firework remnants may land BEFORE setting them off, not after! Seriously though, I hope no one was injured.
