  1. I went outside for a few minutes when i let the dogs out; it took me 20 minutes to cool down again. My sister said it was 105 in PA yesterday
  2. I'm ok with Aetna. Comcast - I had a tech come in and install an additional wall outlet (whatever it is) in my office. He did the installation but nothing worked. He spent 45 minutes trying to figure it out. So he said he was going to leave and talk with his supervisor and either he or another tech would be back (soon). BTW, he showed up in a tie-dyed van and smelled "funny". After awhile, I called Comcast. They were VERY apologetic and sent out a new tech. The original guy had put an outlet box in the wall but NEVER hooked any wires to it. It was just sitting there in the wall
  3. Me and the 4 dogs are in the AC! Plus using ceiling fans
  4. When it is this hot, I often think of the soldiers during the civil war. Those hot uniforms! Their idea of a cool drink was out of a canteen. And on the plantations and farms; what did they use to get cool?? I lived here for one summer without air conditioning and would not want to do it again.

  6. This is a recipe from a good friend who was raised in MASS. Very similar to yours; I marked the changes in red. WELL, THE RED WOULDN'T COPY; SORRY, I INDENTED LINES CHANGED COPPER CARROT PENNIES DELIGHTFULLY DIFFERENT CARROTS 2 lbs. carrots, sliced 1 med. onion, sliced thinly, chopped 1/2 c. salad oil, ¼ c 1 c. sugar, ¼ c 1 tsp. 7. i think it is a great idea. Just a humble suggestion: Either make it a "bring a meat AND side dish" to share or charge money in advance for meat (dogs and burgers?) If everyone brings enough to feed the number of guests they are bringing and shares it on one main table; that would work. If you charge for meat in advance, it gives people incentive to show up. If you plan the menu and people don't show, makes for a lopsided menu. But i will participate no matter what is decided.
  8. Thank you. I hope they do, we really had fun.
  9. It was Taylor Farm. It this an annual event? It was not high school bands; it was more blue grass, etc.
  10. 2 years ago, took the grandgirls to a local Hiram school; field. They had local bands; lots of food vendors; and ended the evening with fireworks. I don't think it was a holiday. We had so much fun. Took our chairs and blanket. It this an annual event?

  14. LOL. It seemed pretty isolated when I drove out there today. But that is really what my family likes; so I guess it is perfect if they get the house.
  15. Family member is looking at a house in that area; what's the scoop on that area for shopping, church, eating out? thank you
  16. That would be the greatest invention. Thank goodness mine are grown - but the grandkids are coming along now. lol
  17. momof3 hit it right!!! My daughter is an actress in NYC, agents do not ask for money up front - EVER.
  18. I was 10 or 11 and babysat 2 kids under the age of 5 for about 40 hrs per week. They paid me $20/week. Only lasted 2 weeks and mom got mad because they were taking advantage of me. It became more like 50 hrs per week; a long story. Then, at 15, I worked in the kitchen of a convalescent home. I loved it because I got to interact with the patients when I collected trays, etc. I have so many stories. Then, as a senior, I got one of the leads in the musical at the high school. I had no way to get from work to the school for rehearsal. So several kids from the high school took turns pic
