When I came through at 1:15, I was still able to use Waters Road; at 5:30, the road is blocked from Nebo to just beyond the bridge and I had to turn around at the Bridge. There are numerous police cars, and Emergency Fire Vehicle, an ambulance. All have been there since 1:15 with the exception that now there are many more vehicles on sight. And yes, we did see what appeared to be an assault weapon in the policeman's hand.

The problem with that is the predator was surrounded by all the small birds attacking. It appeared the big bird forced the mama or papa bird off the nest.

There were at least 6 birds trying to protect the nest but this bird is big; no contest. I closed my door; I can't listen to it again.

Big bird just returned and took another baby. It makes me cry. I am helpless and the little birds fight so hard.

I know, I know; but it was so hard to watch. Those little birds put up such a battle. I know it was not an owl. It did not look big enough to be a hawk; but not sure. It was a dark bird and I could only see the last half of it; the head was hidden by the branches.

OMG, I just witnessed a large black bird take a baby bird from a nest.. There were at least 6 other small birds making a dreadful noise for at least 4 or 5 minutes. All my animals and I were watching the fuss. The big bird was on a branch and the little birds were constantly attacking. Finally the big bird left and what was in its mouth appeared to be a baby bird, still moving. It made me heartsick.

love the comment, feelip!! I bought an expensive knife several years ago (at least $25 for one knife which is expensive to me). I actually cut that thing in half in less than 2 minutes and it was a big one. It was delicious and very easy! No dirty dishes except the cookie sheet (use foil) because you can serve right out of the shell.

I will be trying a healthy recipe within the next day or two. Question about preserving. How does it "keep"? Should I cook and then preserve or keep half of it uncooked? How long will it stay fresh?

I love "dag nab it". I once used it around a friend's son and I thought he would fall on the floor. In the north, we would "outen the light" and "read up the room"; which meant pick it up; not clean but put stuff away I'll be a monkey's uncle run like a scalded dog if your nose itched;; it meant some dog's ass needed a "scratchin" in the north; lunch was "dinner" and dinner was "supper"

I agree with a warm wash cloth for both warmth (mama's tongue) and texture. I nursed a kitty several years ago; it worked and she was adopted into a great home.

I know I have them around. We found one while planting flowers and threw him into the neighbors yard. lol. But I just found a nice hole in the garden that looks like a snake hole. Do they make holes? I thought they do?
