  1. That is the problem; there has to be a line. The law must be clear so a person can determine if his conduct is a criminal act. Everyone's opinion varies in cases like this and one years difference can cause a complete reversal. One may be ok with 17 and 15 but not when it is 18 and 15, or 17 and 14, or 16 and 13. The next person may think 14+ is fair game while the next thinks it shuld be 18. There is no way to clarify it other than to set a standard.
  2. No matter the age? What if the girl is 14? 12? Younger?
  3. It may have not been forced but it cannot be consensual because of her age.
  4. The problem with that is child molestation is the law that addresses this crime as it was written by legislature....it specifically calls for 'committing an indecent act in the presence of a minor'. No...you would never prove intent. Closed door in a bedroom and a bus full of students are two dramatically different scenarios.
  5. I do not expect law enforcement to ignore two 17yo's committing a sex act with a 15yo female in plain view, on a school bus. I would be the Sodomy charge is from the act itself and the Child molestation is from the children who viewed it.
  6. Most agencies won't file a report after the fact when there is not scene to investigate. They will usually issue a SR-13 which is a state DOT form which allows you to document all involved persons, vehicles, and your version of events in a logical manner. You can download it from the GA DDS website under 'Self Reporting Accident'.
  7. Make sure you add up the total cost. Many online deals are not as great after you pay shipping and the local FFL cost for transfers ($25 - $40). Georgia has an instant check but it can take a couple of days if something pops up that needs clarification. No background check for permit holders, they have already been checked.
  8. As above...make sure they are accredited and not just a diploma mill. Many have degrees that are not worth the paper they are printed on.
  9. You got screwed....the insurance company was trying to avoid a police report and possible citation which showed their client failed to yield entering the roadway. That is a huge piece of evidence in any civil claim, now it is one version vs the other. You might as well call your insurance company and fill them in to see how they want you to file the claim against her. Make sure you stress you were turning from the roadway and she was attempting to enter the roadway from a parking lot. Of course her claim now may be that she was sitting at the entrance and you swiped her as you made the
  10. From years of responding to these type of situations in a LE capacity. I have seen plenty who became physically violent, some who armed themselves and barricaded, some who did the deed when responders drove up, and even a few full fledged suicide by cop scenarios where they made someone do the work for them by offering violence. Many of these had nothing to indicate it would go down that way, one of the worst I remember is a call simply saying "my BF told me he was taking some pills and now he won't answer the phone". That turned into a real life nightmare and had an unarmed EMT approa
  11. EMS is trained in patient care. On most suicide threat/attempt calls there is a lot more going on at the scene than patient care. You are dealing with an unstable person in a crisis situation who probably does not want you there or your 'help'. Many times they will react in a hostile or violent manner towards the responders. LE has the tools, training and legal justification to act in ways EMS cannot. Bottom line....it is the safest way to do things for all involved.
  12. Septic tank is full and backing up into the drain pipe from the house.
  13. It is not a strike...the owners are proposing a lockout.
  14. 10 minutes is a very good response time considering the size of the county.
  15. It has already been answered, looks like someone is just wanting to argue. Simple fact is it's common for LE to have people in the car who are not 'in custody' including witnesses, victims, and other people they offer a variety of assistance too. Insurance already accounts for this.
  16. That story gives absolutely no details on what happened.
  17. I don't see it being a scam if he did not want payment until the work was complete. Probably just a guy out trying to make a buck in this job market.
  18. LOL...he didn't know what his father was asking for....right .
  19. Yup....kids who live in walking distance have been walking home for years to avoid the bus.
  20. brake/break knew/new plain/plane waist/waste
  21. No...a complete criminal history is not public information. These sites being reccomended only show persons currently in custody and the DOC site will show those who served prison time.
