  1. 278 has much more traffic volume than the cross streets so in turn it must have longer periods of right of way to keep congestion down.
  2. I beg to differ. FDNY and the local LE agencies took a huge hit that day. Many fire companies, basically a second family because they live together for a 1/3rd of the year, were simply wiped out. An entire firehouse of guys gone in an instant. Those lives were no less important than the people in the towers, matter of fact without them there would have been more people left inside to die. To think something like that would not have a profound effect on the coworkers who sifted through the rubble for the next year is a little amiss.
  3. Yup...earthquake felt along the east coast.
  4. Go to Speedtest.net and run their test.
  5. Is your internet fast enough? To stream and receive audio and video at the same time can be too much for a slow connection.
  6. Gun shows have not impressed me in several years. 15 years ago you could find deals because the place was full of dozens of small dealers looking to move their stock, now you find the same guns from 3 or 4 big dealers all priced at MSRP. The rest of the place is filled with meaninless trinkets for those who are preparing for a zombie attack.
  7. No kidding. Yup...liability is requited by state law.
  8. These daily posts are consistently the most illogical of the day.
  9. Sure, if everyone paid 100% attention all the time there would be no accidents. However, drivers do not expect flowing traffic to stop for no apparent reason. One person impeding the flow of traffic can quickly causes dozens of other motorists to have to react. The more who react the better the chance of a mistake.
  10. A store like this will actually draw revenue into the county from outside due to the selection they offer. The smaller retailers will never have that drawing power due to their limited selection.
  11. I didn't take it as an insult, just point out this is a true sporting goods mega retailer instead of the smaller retailers that mainly carry sports apparel along with with a slim selection of actual equipment.
  12. Because many don't realize their actions can have dangerous consequences for other motorists because no one expects the drive to impede the flow of traffic.
  13. So you could not tell the difference in a 21k square foot store like the current Hiram retailer and a 66k square foot mega store in Snellvile that caters to dozens more activities along with having a much larger selection of merchandise for the common sports which is all the small retailers manage to carry?
  14. I really like NCL, you will find it very comparable to RCCL. The main plus NCL offered for the me was the 'anytime dining' which due to its success has been copied by other lines. You will find the level of service, activities and amenities offered pretty much equal.
  15. That plan would not really work in the vehicle scenario which has been proposed. Automobiles are exempt from search warrants issued by a Magistrate as they are moveable propery unlike a structure so searches are allowed based on the officers determination of probable cause alone.
  16. It does not need to be announced at all in GA so that is why no one has defined it.
  17. Nope...the USSC ruled it was a states issue as to regulations since they did not find it to be violation of the 4th. The ruling of the Michigan SC has no bearing in GA.
  18. : Actually the Michigan SC found road checks to be a 4th amendment violation and the USSC reversed them.
  19. Not true. The legality and processes surrounding road blocks are a states issue and is not subject to Federal law. GA SC case law requires it be approved by an agency supervisor, all vehicles must be stopped, it must be clearly idenified, and delay to motorists must be minimal.
  20. ...and your view appears to be that corruption in LE is routine and it is common to abuse the innocent people for no reason. Are all cops perfect? No. Is any profession perfect including doctors, lawyers, nurses, plumbers, teachers, priests, politicians, soldiers? No. As long as they recruit from the human race there will be those who do the unexplainable. I can go through any profession and post their involvement in the same type of crimes. Bottom line, LE is still an honest profession with plenty of internal and external checks and balances. I guarantee if you go through lif
  21. Not the way it works at all, no one is arrested for "refusing to take the breath test". To give a field breath test in a minor in possession situation you already have evidence of consumption such as smell, watery eyes, slurred speech, actual or constructive physical possession, ect.. The test is to simply allow the officer to determine the level of intoxication, if it is low they can be released on citation instead of physically jailed. It also provides someone claiming to be wrongly accused with the best evidence of innocence possible, a test which confirms their blood alcohol level is ze
  22. Did I say if I cared if either of you unplugged your DVR forever? I was simply stating my opinion and did not direct it towards either of you personally. Geez, it is a discussion forum and not all people share your view point.
  23. The whole point of a DVR is to stay on to record shows while you are not there to watch them. If you are going to unplug it to save $2 a month then send it back because it defeats its purpose.
  24. ' While that may have happened it is a pretty common sequence of events and does not always indicate abuse . Most officers are taught to always ask for consent to search even if they already have probable cause to allow for a search. The reason is a consent search is the most reasonable one that exists. The other is if a search was supported by probable cause and consent the findings are less changeable in court.
  25. Usually the script they follow is pretty standard. They allow the perv to make the moves and they only react to them. In the end he asks to come to the home.
