  1. Problem was on my last wreck they sent me a check based on what their adjuster deemed was fair so I could "take care of it later". It was no where near what a competent body shop wanted.
  2. Don't cash it. Have the car fixed at the dealer so they will use OEM parts since it is so new. They will help you work with the insurance. You are going to have to request what you think you are owed, they won't offer it.
  3. Cobb also has their own Medical Examiner so they must have one.
  4. To be fair he gets that gas allowance from the county because his ambulance service fills the role of first responders on all 9-1-1 medical calls even if an ambulance is not needed or is declined in the end which is not billed to the citizens. If you are transported to the hospital is when billing starts and logically tranporting someone to Atlanta to the GBI office would result in a bill to someone as that is not a service covered under the fuel allowance. I also can only laugh at those talking about a 'conflict' because the Coroner owns a funeral home when everyone involved in running a
  5. You are correct....there is absolutely no way Paulding has the population to justify staffing a Medical Examiner and lab. Only counties such as Cobb and Fulton have sufficient population to do their own, the rest rely on the GBI.
  6. The role of a county coroner and that of the medical examiner who performs autopsies under the power of the GBI are separate aspects of a death investigation. The coroner has many duties but specifically with unattended deaths they work in conjunction with law enforcement to determine the facts and circumstances which are then relayed to the ME who weighs them along with state statutes to determine if an autopsy is warranted.
  7. Ummm....Ok. I have been in a patrol car for about 10 years and have yet to have anything stolen.
  8. The danger of theft on the average call compared to situations where the officer is inside a huge store with his car hidden away in a busy parking lot are two different scenarios. Yes....a group went to jail with probably much more than simple shoplifting charges.
  9. Weapons and the like are secured by various security systems off duty including removal from the vehicle. On duty they are normally carried in a manner to make them more accessable which also makes them an easier targer for criminals.
  10. I would pay for the shots at my vet before I would wait in line for 6+ hours.
  11. Too bad the windows are made out of glass which provides a one second barrier to an opportune criminal.
  12. They better not. Any officer who parks a duty ready patrol car in a busy parking lot unattended is asking for trouble. These cars are filled with loads of expensive electronics and weapons while on duty and much of it is in plain view.
  13. Oh man....that is funny and original too! They had a call of 3 or 4 shoplifters in a group and all were combative with the employees who tried to stop them.
  14. Got gas today and used the discount and it was normal.
  15. I bet they laugh because of our ethics compared to such nice places as NJ and Chicago who probably got an A rating.
  16. A 'secure' digital text document in a commonly available format that does not require an encryption program to open? It does not exist. A 12yo could extract the text on any un-editable 'secure' document and recreate it on a blank document in 5 minutes if they had nefarious intent. The only way to get secure documents is the old way, paper copy in person with a raised seal. I have seen hundreds of Federal court motions and judgements and they all look just like this.
  17. Hey....I haven't heard about this integrity and ethics you speak off that is not related to bologna. Maybe you should fill us in.
  18. I think you have the answer. It was a claim that is easily disproved.
  19. Because their corporations pulled out of the area.
  20. I do lots of shopping in the ethnic aisles but my dinner is usually more thoughtful than the huge hamburger helper aisle.
  21. Too bad they cannot dedicate an officer to that intersection all day, ever day. It is one of the worst in the county and probably produces more wrecks than any other. There is enough bad driving in that one spot to keep a traffic cop busy all day.
