The KY clerk who won't issue marriage licenses
Ugadawgs98 replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well....let her wait in jail just as long as she makes them wait. Some think by being elected she has some power to decide what she will do on her own. It is actually the contrary, upon election she swears under oath to perform a task on behalf of the citizens in a Constitution manner under the penalty of law. -
The KY clerk who won't issue marriage licenses
Ugadawgs98 replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is now a Constitutional issue which means rulings trump state laws to the contrary. Anyway, I am sure she takes an oath to uphold the Constitution which means she carries that duty on her own, she can't point fingers at others inaction as a defense. -
The KY clerk who won't issue marriage licenses
Ugadawgs98 replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
She has a job to do, either perform it or resign. She is free to have whatever religious beliefs she wants about marriage, however this is a civil union that has nothing to do with her religious interpretations or how things are handled inside her church. Take the hot topic that surrounds this out of it, if a clerk at the drivers license office refused to issue a DL to women, a probate judge who refuses to issue gun permits, a superior court judge who refuses to divorce people because of their religious beliefs. All would be crystal clear when it comes to the mixing of personal beliefs a -
Calls come in all the time like that....pretty common. I have seen attempted descriptions such as "3rd from the end on the right", "blue house near the cul-de-sac", "house with the basketball goal and white truck in the driveway", "two houses down from 155". The options are unlimited.

Shooting People In The Back Is Not Admirable By Any Means

You are asking for critical thinking....you won't find that. -
I always love those inflammatory type 'reports' that don't go into real facts and just highlight talking points such as 'black' and 'unarmed'. I watched some video posted the other day that made similar claims and I researched a few of the names and easily found 2 who violently attacked the officer and they had a life and death struggle over his gun. The officer won and that was why they were alive but it was reported as police shooting an unarmed black man. When you are trying to take a weapon from a cop it isn't for show and tell, you are armed at that point and it is life and death. Al

The ramblings of those out of touch with the way things happen in the real world. Too bad this thug didn't immediately understand the consequences of his actions. Murder, attempted murder or violently causing serious injury to anyone, cop or not, should be a very dangerous game for the criminal.

Police name suspect in shooting death of Memphis cop.
Ugadawgs98 replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No...you just don't want to hear anything that contradicts this little fantasy you weave in your head. That is why you are unable to counter anything that goes against the wild ass theories you post, you just put some rambling sentence out there that makes little sense such as the one above. We get it....you really think anytime an officer uses emergency equipment sparingly it is for some nefarious reason and there can be no legit reason even though people who really know what goes on tell you otherwise. I know I will never change your opinion and really don't care at this point but I wi -
Actually there are many many collisions daily in that stretch which is going to happen when you have that much congestion. You will never be able to proactively eliminate a good portion of them no matter how much enforcement you have. Higher speed limits decrease reaction time and increase severity of injuries, lowering it will have a positive impact on both especially since 55 is pretty dang reasonable in that area.

You are ignoring a prominent fact, on a routine basis officers respond to emergencies using their emergency equipment sparingly and sometime not at all because that is what the situation calls for. Sometimes you can run lights and sirens all the way to the front door if you want and it not matter, sometimes giving a suspect who is still in the act that kind of notice just might get someone killed. Just because you interpretation is wrong does not mean the officer is. This isn't a grey line, it is reality. -

You are clueless. You have the ability to ignore virtually every point in conversation replying to your comment, you can only spout some illogical accusation and post up some mostly unrelated link. -

How about I am out there daily seeing what other officers do and have never witnessed it. I have been in a position to field complaints from citizens which means logs and patrol car videos would be reviewed in reference to a complaint. I never found one instance where an officer using emergency equipment was not legit. As for your little scenario, I am sure someone could have came to that conclusion about me many times over my career. It is routine for officers to be cancelled by closer officers in the middle of a full emergency run. If there is something big that requires that level -

Ugadawgs98 replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have been in this profession for a long time and have worked with hundreds of different officers over the years with a few different agencies. I have never, ever, known one to just use emergency equipment for no reason. It just doesn't happen, no one is in that big of a rush to simply drive when it is something you do all day on patrol. However, I know of thousands of incidents just like I described. They happen daily in every agency in the land and anyone who has ever sat in a patrol car seat has done things such as using emergency equipment sparingly go to calls. It is common practice -

Ugadawgs98 replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
.....or maybe they were simply responding to an emergency call that fell just short of a full code 3 response or the scenario prevented a full emergency run. People really think cops who drive a good portion of the day are in such a hurry to just drive around even more that they do things like this? You see something like that and that is your automatic conclusion, the worst you can think of. I see that and my experience tells me the officer was responding to something like a business panic alarm or a domestic dispute close by that has escalated and the use of lights and sirens will put -

You need to go talk to an attorney or it could be something you can even file yourself. It certainly is a civil matter from a law enforcement perspective when it comes to property line disputes over a few feet. To arrest someone with trespassing you first must prove the property isn't theirs or they didn't reasonably believe it was theirs. When you have two sides claiming two different things coupled with cops who aren't surveyors then it certainly is a civil matter at that point, meaning something that should be decided by a judge in a civil venue such as magistrate court. You go to court -
