  1. Cops who do wrong are held accountable every day. The problem is many think every time the mob rule spreads an opinion it is legally or factually correct. They always have a head start because acencies and prosecutors cannot comment at the start because it jeapordizes the investigation. They mold the narrative well before the facts are ironed out. When the truth comes out they claim it must be a coverup because no one wants to believe they were duped to further an agenda.
  2. They didn't get 'lost', that is another lie. They are clipped into the shirt at the chest and became dislodged during the fight. They both recorded and are accounted for. You can see it still connected to the officer and dangling from his shirt at the end of the video.
  3. Lol...it is undisputed they were told by dispatch he pulled a gun and threatened somone in the parking lot. That is a violent act that is treated seriously anywhere. Why minimize that? Not surprised, this tactic has been used before and might as well be Michael Brown all over where strong armed robbery minimzed as 'shoplifting'. This narrative will likely fall apart and be proven false just like 'hands up dont shoot'.
  4. He was being contacted as the suspect in an armed assault, not by chance. Given there was a reasonable belief he was armed the procedure would have been to secure him in handcuffs for investigative detention or even arrest. He did not comply with those lawful commands which means force will likely be the next step used to detain.
  5. Yup....he would never have to even sucessfully draw or aim it. The simple act of trying to brandish it fulfills all elements, especially when you have a reasonable belief he had just threatened another citizen with it, may be sufficient cause on its own.
  6. If they were second hit richoets they would be entrance wounds after they first exited and bounced off the pavement. The cop on top appears to me to be in a struggle to control his right hand that is by his side which is the same area the gun was found and coincided with him announcing'he has a gun'.
  7. ...and that gun could have easily be fired from inside his pocket during the struggle. Actually if the first cop did as trained he would have tried to keep it pinned in the pocket for more control.
  8. No link...this is purely my interperation of what I see on the video based on the reactions and the actions directly preceeding and during the actual shots. Also, it seems impossible that he was shot in the back since he was laying on his back the entire time. It is most likely an erroneous report by a coroner and any 'entrance wounds' in his back were 2nd hit richoets off the pavement. The actual autopsy results from the forensic pathologist haven't been released. I am speculating based on what I see, just like everyone else in this thread.
  9. I am saying he fired it during the altercation with the officers. The department has released nothing about what happened other than a basic statement, the story has been driven solely by grainy cell videos. The struggle that was going on which centered around his right hand was an attempt to prevent him from drawing the gun in his pocket which coincided with the officer announcing 'he has a gun'. The first shots heard on the video were from Sterling, the second shots you hear were the ones fired by the 2nd officer in response.
  10. I bet the factual sequence of events presented after the investigation will be much different than what people think they see. It won't be 'cold blooded murder' and Sterling was not only a convicted felon with a gun, he fired it. Unfortunately it won't matter though at that point.
  11. Hate to hear that. Turning away a $10 sale for someone wanting to use your range that was virtually empty may not be the wisest business practice.
  12. Creekside is no longer completely public. You can only use the practice facilities if you are a member or have a tee time. They have new signs up in front of the clubhouse, by the putting green and on the range. I was turned away a few weeks ago when I was just trying to buy a bucket of balls for the range. They better hope they have a great membership drive because this will kill them if not. Pushing out the non-members of the community who have supported that place since day 1 is risky business.
  13. LOL....you just can't win with some people. Focus on traffic tickets and you can count of the accusations of 'generating revenue' instead of fighting 'real crime'. It is just speeding after all. Focus on the 'real crime' and you are now inept for not focusing on traffic. After all, it is integral to highway safety. These people will bitch either way, they just have to figure out which side of the coin their outrage will be on.
  14. LOL...I'm sure that wasn't written by the owner. That touched on the majority of the menu.
  15. 6 counties have a Forensic Pathologist that is appointed as county Medical Examiner instead of a county Coroner. They will handle the normal duties of that fall on a Coroner along with performing autopsies to determine cause and manner of death. The remaining 153 Counties rely on the GBI Medical Examiner's Office for those postmortem investigative duties.
  16. A county the size of Paulding would have absolutely no need for the services of a Medical Examiner. The expense would be huge both in personnel and properly equipped facilities plus there is simply not a sufficient caseload to make it worthwhile. Paulding utilizes the same Coroner's Office process as about 153 counties in this state, they request a Forensic Pathologist with the GBI to conduct any additional services. As far as I know locally, Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Dekalb are the only counties using a ME and there is a reason, their populations are all closing in on 1 million so it supp
  17. LOL....what does this have to do with the government censoring speech? The Constitution sets boundaries on the government, nothing more.
  18. The execution type of the search warrant is not even a factor in this case though it isn't stopping many from using it as a distraction. This is in no way a consequence of that choice and actually it would have worked out better if the suspect could have been contained inside that apartment so the dynamic entry could work as designed. Instead he fled out the back of the apartment and started shooting when he encountered other officers on a perimeter in the parking lot hundreds of feet away. The community certainly lost a good man.
  19. If you have never been involved in a wooded area search it is hard to understand. The amount of area to cover is daunting even in a quick sweep search, the difficulty increases the more thorough the search must be, and if it is thick cover or rough terrain it increases tenfold from that. If you are just looking at a mile radius you have over 2000 acres of land, this child. If you look at a 1.5 mile radius you have 4500 potential acres. Unfortunately that puts it in a category where failure is likely given the time constraints.
  20. I would bet this ends up being a drug rip off, 99% of home invasions are.

  22. I don't see why this would matter to anyone. All sorts of people in all sorts of professions work a 24/7 cycle, holidays included. However, let retail employees be called on to work late nights around the holidays and everyone loses their mind. I don't get it.
