  1. A few weeks back, my daughter spent the night at Wal-Mart in Gwinnett County in order to get one of these for my grandson. He's almost 16 months old and is not too sure about Elmo. He laughs at it but doesn't want to get too close!!! The grown ups love it! It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. The one she got is the English-speaking version. They didn't have the Spanish-speaking one. She wants to get one of those.

If anyone knows where they have the Spanish-speaking ones, please let me know.

  2. I heard on the new this morning that there was a chase that started in Paulding County and ended at 61 and 113 in Cartersville with a crash. They had the intersection shut down. Don't know anything else.

I also heard about the foot chase in Dallas last night. There were four suspects with one in custody when I heard it. I don't know if they got the other 3.

  3. She was stupid and selfish, I have no sympathy for her, if you feel you have to kill yourself at least do it in a way that will not hurt innocent people. Those kids have no momma because this girl was rejected by another girl, and she felt it was worth taking her own life. She knew what she was doing, I don't care what mental state she was in.

You took the words right out of my mouth!! My feelings exactly!

  4. Forgery, in a way, is a form of theft. She probably doesn't work, has three kids that the State takes care of, and tried to forge someone's name in order to get money. Maybe her excuse was that she did it in order to take care of her kids. I can see the judge's point, especially if she's not married and has no help with the kids she has.

She needs to get that GED, get a job, and take care of the kids she has without bringing more underprivileged kids into the world for the State to raise.

Just a guess as to what might have been the case.

  5. Is this a marching band? If so, they don't do lyrics...so I don't see the problem.

I agree!! My best friend's step-daughter plays in the Bremen High School Band. It's music only, no lyrics. If the music is a problem, the songs should have approved way before now. I personally don't think it's fair to make them scrap the song if they've been allowed to play and pratice it up until the last minute.

As for booty-shaking, has anyone ever been to a cheerleading competition? I went to one at Six Flags when my daughter cheered for South Paulding in 7th grade. Her squad was very good, as were a lot of others. But the booty-shakers were the ones who won!! And all of it was done to either hard rock or rap music. Some very talented booty-shakers!!! I guess what I'm trying to say is that is what the judges look for.

I don't think the judges give a flip about the songs played at band competition. They probably haven't ever heard of them so what does it matter?
