  1. I used to collect Beanie Babies! It got to the point where I had nowhere to keep them!! I still have a few of the better ones displayed downstairs. I still have a ton of them so, if anyone knows anyone who still collects and might need some, I have a lot that I would sell cheap!!

Now we collect shot glasses. Whenever we go on a vacation or getaway, I always get a shot glass!! They take up much less space!!

  2. I wish I'd known about the contest!! We went last night. I'd love to have entered by grandson. He's 14 months. About 3 weeks ago, he was entered in a contest at Gwinnett Place Mall. He placed 2nd and is going to state competition in Augusta in June.

We were so excited about that! It would have been nice to have him in another one so he could get more used to it.

  3. Around that time, I heard something about someone with a severe cut on his upper leg. It was made by a skill saw. It had cut into one of the arteries. I didn't catch the address, so maybe that was it. Life flight was called but I didn't hear the whole thing.

  4. We went last night. My daughter brought the grandbaby and met us there. It was so much fun!! We ate way too much!! Great corn dogs, roasted corn, and funnel cakes!!! Hubby got a turkey leg but said it wasn't as good as last year.

We didn't know that everything was a dollar!! We didn't spend nearly as much as we usually do. My daughter did spend $15 to win my grandson a goofy-looking frog. But, like she said, it was his first fair, so she wanted to win him a prize!!! He was fasicinated by all the people and lights. He kept pointing to all the bigger rides and smiling. He rode the ponies and we got some great pictures. He absolutely refused to sit on the donkey!!!

    Everyone should go!! It's great!!

  5. Yes, I would want to know. I could not live with a man who wanted someone else. If that's what he wants, he shouldn't let the door hit him in the A$$.

I've been in that situation with a cheating spouse (my first marriage). We were very young, and I thought that might be the reason why he cheated. I thought that since we got married so young and had a baby, that he was just doing what most young men do before they marry. Boy, was I stupid!! I stayed married to him for 4 years and had another baby. He is still the same. Still cheats on every woman he is with!!! He's been married 4 times since we divorced.

If my husband cheated, there would be no more trust. And you can't have a marriage without trust.

  6. I very seldom use layaway, but it's great when you need it!!

Wal-Mart's layaway program was the best around. Sorry to see it go. I used to use K-Mart. I guess I will go back there because the quality of their mercandise seems to have gotten better since Sears took them over.

I'll just have to save my money and pay cash. Not really a problem.

  7. The only thing I buy on line is scrapbook supplies and, occasionally, stuff from ABC Distributing. I've tried buying clothes, but they never fit.

My daughter buys EVERYTHING on line! Some of the places she buys from are Old Navy, Babies R Us, and E-Bay.

  8. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE, you can listen to the scanner while on the puter, minimize p.com screen, type in the url... www.scanpaulding.com click on which one you want to listen to and then minimize both windows and you are good to go! :)

Thanks for this info! For some reason, my scanner won't pick up Paulding County even though I haven't done anything to it. The only thing I can pick up is Douglas County!!

    This is great!!

  9. I have a 24-year-old daughter who was always getting in trouble when she was a teenager. She spent quite a bit of time in YDC. You can't bond a child our of YDC like you can an adult jail. The used to have juvenile court on Wednesday, and if your child got "arrested" on Wednesday after court was held, they were in YDC until the following Wednesday. Most of the time, the kids are allowed to go home at the bond hearing unless the charges are really, really serious. Also, that was before we got the YDC in Paulding. The kids used to be taken to Rome. Things might be different now.

It's probably harder on the parents than it is the child. But, for most kids, that little bit of time in the YDC does wonders.

My heart was so hurt when my daughter was sent to YDC for the first time. I thought I'd lose my sanity!! But, when a child commits a crime, if they are not punished, they don't learn anything. My daughter was only charged with being ungovernable. She did not commit any real crimes. We just could not control her actions, and she was a danger to her family and herself. Turned out she was being molested.

I hope everything works out for this family. It's a hard thing to have to go through. If the child did what she's accused of, I hope she learns a lesson from this and turn's her life around.

I'll keep this family in my prayers because I know from experience how hard it is to know your child is in YDC.

  10. I didn't know that she'd undergone chemo treatment for cancer! I hope everything is alright with her. I wondered what happened to her hair when I watched yesterday afternoon!! She looks better with it buzzed off or with her wigs!!!

  11. As a previous member of a Fire/Rescue Department - Let's not forget to pray for all the Firemen, Police, and Medical personnel that responded to this accident. They too will need to be able to get past what they have seen and experienced today.

Too many times we leave them out - let's not this time. Yes they are paid and have agreed accept what they might see - but NOT one of them would have ever wanted to see what they saw today.

You are absolutely right!!! No one should have to witness what they did this afternoon. Any kind of accident is horrible, but it seems more so when a child is involved.

I will be honest by saying I didn't give a thought to the public safety personnel involved.

This post really made me stop and think!! Extra prayers for all the medical/fire/police personnel involved.

  12. Oh my!! That means that the child was with a sitter :( :(

That's exactly why my daughter doesn't want to go back to work. She won't leave her 14-month-old son with anyone but me and his daddy. You have to keep a constant watch on toddler's. They can get away from you in a minute!

My prayers are with all involved in this tragedy.

I posted too soon! I read that the child was with the grandmother. I cannot imagine the pain they are all going through. There's no reason to punish her, she'll punish herself for the rest of her life. My heart hurts so badly for this family.
