  1. I heard on Channel 2 this morning that the man arrested was 57 years old. They didn't mention his wife or girlfriend. Fox 5 said she was 31. The child is between 2 and 3 years old. He is now in protective custody. They showed a picture of the apartments. They are townhouses. I didn't know there were any townhouses in Hiram. Does anyone know where they are?

  2. What is the smell? I wouldn't even know it if I was smelling it. But of course, I am not smelling it here....2 preachers behind me with an older lady on the side of me. :D

I have no idea!! I wouldn't know if I was smelling it!!

  3. I had the TV on and was not really paying too much attention, but I did hear something about a meth bust in Paulding County. It was in an apartment complex, and they were making it in the child's closet. A man and woman were arrested. The child was taken to the hospital to make sure there was no damage from the fumes. The neighbors had complained about a bad smell.

That's all I heard. Did anyone else hear anything about this?

  4. What about the news story on Channel 2 this morning about 2 pit bulls owned by a Falcons football player that chewed through a wooden fence and attacked a guy and his 2 dogs? We're those really pits or just some breed that looks like pits? Whatever they are I would be scared to death to live in a neighborhood where the dogs chewed through fences to attack. :(

I saw that new story and the dogs they showed WERE NOT pit bulls!!! Any dog, I don't care what kind it is, can be made to be mean. It is all in how they are treated and raised. My daughter rescued a pit who had been abandoned in a new subdivision. He had been severely abused and was starving to death. He was the biggest baby you've ever seen, BUT. . .he only liked our family and a few of our friends. He did not like men with loud voices. He didn't like for people to come too close without talking to him. If a stranger just walked right up to the fence and was loud, he'd try his best to get to them. If a stranger allowed him to come up to them and they weren't loud, he'd make a new friend. I firmly believe that his abuse led to him being mean towards certain people.

We ended up giving him away because we didn't want anyone to complain, and we were getting a lot of kids in our neighborhood. Kids can be loud and we didn't want him to hurt someone's child. But I loved him and I miss him so much!!

We had a chow/pit mix for about 8 years. She was the biggest baby and loved everybody. We got her as a puppy and treated her like a child. She never met anyone she didn't like.

It's all in how they're raised and how they're treated.

  5. The coolest thing just happened!!!

I looked out by back door about 20 minutes ago, and a hummingbird had gotten into our screened porch. I tried to shoo him out, but he was in the corner and wouldn't do anything except fly upwards under the blinds. I moved my plants, got a kitchen chair, and climbed up. I reached under the blinds, and he flew out and was flying up and down on the screen that doesn't have a blind.

I just reached up and cupped him into my hands. He immediately calmed down and just let me hold him! He actually poked his little head up out of my hands and didn't try to get away. I was blown away by how calm he was!! He had a ruby throat, so he was a male. He was really small!!

I opened the door, opened my hands, and he flew up into the tree beside the porch. About two minutes later, he was feeding at the feeder!!

The amazing thing is, just a couple of nights ago, I told my husband that I'd love to hold a hummingbird. We laughed because whoever though it would ever happen?!?!?!?

Well--it did, and it was amazing!!!

    Just wanted to share!!

  6. I learned through my criminal justice classes and through the Paulding County Sheriff's office that child molesters usually have a "favorite" age group. My ex had raped my daughter when she was 11. After our separation, he moved in with a woman who had a 2-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy. I was worried sick about these kids. I was told that the girl was not in his preferred age group and the other child was a boy. Then I found out that he'd been "touching" my daughter since she was 6. The police said there was nothing they could do about it.

Of course, I blame the stupid woman. If it was me, I'd have thrown him out as soon as I found out what he'd been accused of. She ended up marrying him, but he's in prison until at least 2018.

I personally think that if a sexual pervert can't get exactly what he wants to satisfy his sick desires, he might eventually turn to someone outside his usual preference. The whole thing just makes me sick!

People like that should be locked away for good. And I'm not talking about boys charged with statutory rape. Just those that are child molesters and rapists.

  7. I know a girl who had it done. It was hard for her. But that was about 7 or 8 years ago. She and her husband actually appeared on Maury Povich!! She lost so much weight, she didn't even look like herself. She did good after a while, but she had a real problem with "saggy" skin. She couldn't wear short-sleeved shirts because of the "hanging skin". Same way on her legs and stomach. She couldn't afford any type of cosmetic surgery to get rid of the skin.

I haven't talked to her in several years, so I don't know how things turned out for her.

  8. I've been to the one in Dalton, Calhoun, and the one in Commerce. None of them had good prices. Got the same things on sale at the mall!! Some of the prices were actually higher than mall prices.

I don't think theres any such thing as a real outlet with real good prices.
