  1. Update!

Doctor said he was ok, but no report was going to be filed. I may have to do something about that. We'll see. <_<

What kind of quack doctor saw this child? This incident needs to be reported to DFCS and the police.

I'm so glad my daughter gets to stay home with her son. I'd kill someone if they let my grandson get hurt like that. I hope the babysitter doesn't keep any other kids. If so, the parents need to be informed that she's not a responsible sitter.

It just breaks my heart that someone could allow a child to be hurt like that.

  2. I just turned on the scanner and heard that 7 patients are being transported to Paulding. I have no idea what happened. With that many patients, I'm praying it wasn't a school bus. They had "Macland Command", which usually indicates a more serious accident.

If anybody knows anything, please post.

  3. I have a good friend whose parent's own a house on St. George Island. There is absolutely nothing to do there!!! You have to drive over the bridge back to the mainland and, from what I understand, it's a pretty long drive!!

It's really a beautiful beach if you don't want to do anything but lay on the beach. I don't think they have but one restaurant on the islaned. No movies, etc. Definitely not good if you have kids or want to do something other than just laying around.

  4. Both of my girls had them. I can't remember how old my oldest daughter was, but my mother bought her a TV and VCR for either a birthday or Christmas. She was probably about 9 or 10. We got my youngest daughter one for her 10th birthday. They both enjoyed them tremendously.

My grandson is only 15 months, but as soon as he's old enough to watch movies, he'll have one, too. I've alreay bought him a V-Smile Baby, which is a child development program that hooks up to the TV. Kind of like video games for babies.

My kids always watched the educational kids shows and played video games. I think it made them a lot smarter!

I don't see anything wrong with kids watching TV. It all depends on what they watch.

  5. Larry and Carol Nix are such fine people, as are the rest of the family I'm sure!

Is this the Larry Nix of Nix Photography? He took headshots of my youngest daughter when she was getting into modeling. What a wonderful man!!

I'm really saddened to hear of the loss of these two young people. My prayers are with the families.

  6. What the heck was a 4 year old doing on a 4-wheeler?

They did say a 4-year-old on a 4-wheeler. I was listening, too, but never heard where it happened. My daughter had a 4-wheeler when she was 3, but she could only ride it in our backyard and only with an adult right there with her. She was not allowed to speed around. She had to go slow. Always wore her helmet along with long pants and shoes. I guess we were lucky! But we were very careful with her and the 4-wheeler.

I pray that the child injured tonight is ok. I did hear that he might have had a head injury. Hopefully, someone on here can find out something and keep us posted.

  7. Cobb County does profile. As do all police agencies. It has to do with certain types of cars. It happened to me in Troup County in 1989.

Cobb County has a lot of officers who have no business having the type of power that goes with being a police officer.

I've only had good dealings with Paulding.

  8. I voted 6 - 7 hours, but it's not nearly enough!!! For several months, I've had a hard time falling asleep. I used to could go to sleep anytime anywhere. I would love to be able to be asleep by 9 because I get up at 5. That would be at least 8 hours, but it very seldom happens now. I'm hoping that things will get better as it starts to get dark earlier. I also take Lunesta. It makes me sleep, but I'm ususally groggy in the morning. I prefer to take it on weekends so that I can sleep 9 to 10 hours a night. That's what really makes me feel rested.

  9. I know exactly what you mean!! There is one family in our neighborhood that does this. EVERY time either one of them leaves or comes home, the driver lays down on the horn!! It's ridiculous. I have no idea why they do it, but is very annoying. Our neighborhood is pretty quiet, and the honking horn early in the morning really gets on my nerves. At first, my husband thought they honked the horn when they came home so that the kids would open the garage door. But they also do it when they leave!!

I sympathize with you! I wish there was a way to stop it.
