  1. I didn't hear the beginning of the call, because I was busy doing something else. Now that you said it, I do remember hearing something about two patients. I just hope that they are ok, and I hope that whoever hit them is caught.
  2. I've been listening but haven't heard anything about them finding the moron who hit the lady. Emory 3 is off the ground. The pilot just thanked everyone for their help and said they'd give them a call later.
  3. I heard something about a pedestrian (female) being struck by a hit and run vehicle. It's a white 4-door Chevy truck with a piece of crane-like equipment in the back. Headed toward Highway 61. Will have right side damage and should be missing a mirror. I think that's what's going on. Patient laying on side of road. Landing zone will be at Church of Christ.
  4. I got slammed last night and I really tried to understand, but now, after listening to an on-line interview, my sympathy level is way down. I found out she was 19 when it started. And it was the night before her wedding. Drugs or no drugs, she was not a little girl. She was a GROWN woman who knew that sex with your father is wrong. I'm not sure I even believe her. It might just be a publicity stunt to sell her book. Like High Creek said, her father is dead and can't defend himself. I can certainly understand an innocent little girl being forced into drugs and sex. But a grown woma
  5. Helicopter is on the ground. Prayers said!!
  6. It looks like all the restaurants and fast food places are open in Hiram. The restaurants in the Kroger shopping center at Ridge Road are open.
  7. Life flight has been called. Landing zone is chuch on Cochran Ridge.
  8. You're right. She did have me. Unfortunately, she didn't come to me when it was happening. She was 19 when I found out, and it was by accident. That's why I feel so guilty. She carried that terrible secret for a long time before anyone knew. I guess it just amazes me that she was able to stop it by herself at the age of 15. He didn't let up on her but she stayed strong and refused to accept any more abuse. I am so very proud of her for that. As for McKenzie, we don't know how it came about and I'm sure the drugs played a big part in it. I hate that it happened to her. Hopefully,
  9. I was. It happened when I was at work or running errands. I have been through the guilt thing for years. I blame myself for not knowing. I just feel that I should have known. We were separated when I found out, or I would be in prison for killing him. It really caused a lot of problems for my daughter, but she's 27 now, just finished school to be a medical assistant and is doing wonderful. My heart breaks for anyone who has been sexually abused but, like I said in another post, I'm just trying to understand. My daughter put a stop to it as soon as she was old enough to realize th
  10. I'm not a psychologist, but my daughter knew it was wrong and was very scared as an 11-year-old. Once she got to be a teenager, she realized that there was a way out. She never consented again. She fought back and put a stop to it. So I guess I just don't understand how an educated girl/woman, not a child, can not know that it's wrong and not put a stop to it. In McKenzie Phillips' case, she was a smart, educated actress. I just can't imagine how she could continue sleeping with her father after a certain age. If it started when she was a child, I can understand the fear/control issue.
  11. Thanks for posting the link. We haven't had any low water pressure and the water hasn't been off, so I guess we don't have to boil the water. That's great!!
  12. Not being judgemental. Just stating what was previously said. She was not willing at first but became willing. That's her fault. No one else's. My daughter was raped by her step-father from the time she was 11 until she was 15. I know what kind of hell it is. But she was never WILLING. There's a difference between rape and willing.
  13. she says the first time she was blacked out but they bumped for 10 years after that gross I a so sorry that this happened to you. But there's a big difference between rape and being a willing participant for 10 years.
  14. I don't know about the schools but, when I was driving to Arby's tonight, there is a daycare on the right just before you reach 278. Their sign said they'd be closed until Paulding schools opened again. I just wonder what those poor parents who depend on them to watch their kids are going to do about daycare until then. I'd just never heard of a daycare closing just because the schools were closed. That's when parents need them most.
  15. My company closed at 1:30 yesterday, so I will be paid for 2 hours that I missed. Everyone but myself and a co-worker was able to get into the office, so we will have to use vacation time if we want to be paid. I won't get paid for 2.5 hours taday since I didn't make it in until 9:30. The entire office has to be closed before we get paid.
  16. Those pictures really tell a story!! To see some more, go to the WSB website and take a peek at slide show #1 and #2. They are amazing!!
  17. Very said. Our basement/garage is flooded, but that's nothing compared to what others are going through. I couldn't make it to work today, and they actually closed our office about 1:30. It doesn't look like I'll be going tomorrow either. Prayers said for everyone at this very rainy time.
  18. Something is going on somewhere on Bakers Bridge. My scanner keeps locking up and isn't scanning properly. They keep talking about a helicopter, but I can't figure out where or why.
  19. Hubby is coming home that way. That's how he got to Douglasville. Everything is ok if people will just take it easy and go slow.
  20. My husband finally made it to Douglasville by going down Ridge Road to Highway 61 through Villa Rica. He and his business partner had to go to Austell to see about a job, and he said it was unbelievable because of the water and traffic. He is back in Douglasville and on his way home---the long way!!
  21. I wish we had TV. The lightning took out our cable around 6:30 this morning and it's not back on yet. I tried to call them but all I get is a recording that says there's an outage in our area. I doubt the trucks can get to us to fix it, and there's a lot worse going on than the cable being out.
  22. Thanks!! I just couldn't find it on a closed list. The rain is really coming down again. I might be staying home again tomorrow.
  23. I pray that she is found safe. Did this happen in Geogia or Tennessee?
  24. Does anyone know if Bennett Road is open? There's a bridge that crosses a creek about halfway between Pine Valley and Cleburne Parkway. If it's not closed, I can get to work that way.
