A while back someone posted a topic about Paulding teacher salaries and there was a website that listed all the teachers' salaries. Can someone give me the web address? Thanks!!
  2. I was hoping to find out that it was my ex-husband. I'm so disappointed that it wasn't!!!
  3. I remember it very well. I had a two-year-old daughter named Jessica, and I just kept imagining how I'd feel if it were her. I was glued to the TV during the rescue. I can still remember the relief that I felt when she was rescued and was ok. I've often wondered what happened to her. It's good to know that she's ok and doing well.
  4. Destiny's aunt is a very close friend of mine. I am so excited for her and the boys. They are 3 very hardworking kids. I can't wait to see the Tooth Fairy. My friend's daughter should be in movies, too!! She's quite the little actress herself.
  5. The pants on the ground song was hilarious!!!
  6. Me, too!!! It's been so long since we got a real good snow. It's time for another one!!
  7. Hubby went to Douglasville yesterday afternoon without any problems. I have to get out to go to Wal-Mart in just a bit. I'm just going to go slow and stay as far away as possible from other cars. Be safe and use caution everyone!!
  8. There's an accident on Austin Bridge Road, and the deputy said the roads are slick. Urging other reponders to be careful. No injuries, by the way.
  9. AMC used to be my favorite TV show of all time!!! I used to tape it while I was at work and then watch a whole week's worth on the weekend. I haven't watched it in years but I was home sick on Monday and Tuesday and watched an episode that was a "look back" sort of episode. It was cool to watch, but I had no idea about Erica and Ryan. That is REALLY gross!!! She's still a beautiful woman, but she's old enough to be his granny!!! I don't think I could watch those scenes!! I bet poor Mona has done a somersault in her grave!!!
  10. Hubby got sick on Saturday. I woke up early Sunday morning with an excruciating headache. Then I got fever and chills with aching all over. I went to the ER on Monday and was told it was viral. Now I still have a headache, plus diarrhea and a sick stomach. Everything I eat gives me the runs!!! And my ears hurt, too!!! I just want it to be over!!!
  11. I think it's a little premature to close the schools around here. I can understand about the mountain areas - - - they always get snow!!! I really want it to come a big one, but my daughter has a doctor's appointment at Northside on Friday that she really needs to attend.
  12. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!!! Someone needs to do the same to her as she did to that poor baby. No punishment will be enough for what she did.
  13. A co-worker told me how to make it this way, and it was the best I've ever had. 1 box of elbow macaroni 1 quart of heavy whipping cream sharp cheddar cheese mild cheddar cheese colby cheese Cook macaroni as directed on box. Drain. Stir in whipping cream (all of it). Add as much cheese as you want --- you can't have too much. Cook at 350 degrees until the cheese melts. My family loved it at Christmas dinner. It was the only dish that was completely devoured!!
  14. I know someone who had to be flown to a hospital in Chattanooga because of severe burns. The bill for the flight was $15,000. The insurance paid $5,000. The company worked with the family and negotiated/lowered the helicopter bill so that it could be paid. Personally, I think they charge way too much but, on the other hand, I am very grateful that life flight is available if needed for me or my family. Like other posters have said, I'll worry about paying the bill AFTER mine or my family member's life is saved!! No one can put a price on someone's life.
  15. I'd be happy if I could go to the doctor!! After working for an insurance company for 15 years, they took our insurance away and we only have catastrophic coverage. My back and hips have been hurting me terribly for about two months, and I cannot afford to go to a doctor. I'd go twice for two different things if I had insurance. I don't know much about the proposed government health care but, for people like me who have no coverage, anything is better than nothing.
  16. Hubby and I are having sausage balls, a cheese ball with crackers, and some chicken tenders!! We're just muching along while I do what preparation I can for the big meal tomorrow. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
  17. I'm going to try to find out some more about this accident today. It was someone coming out of our subdivision because the driver's side was hit. I'll post if I'm able to get any details. Everyone have a merry Christmas and be safe on the roads!!
  18. I was coming home about 20 minutes ago and, as I approached my subdivision, I saw flashing red and blue lights. I;ve know it was only a matter of time before someone had a bad accident there. So many people come flying down Poole Bridge Road and never even slow down for the stop signs at Poole Bridge Drive (Poole Bridge Park Subdivision). I've almost been hit several times early in the morning when leaving out of the subdivision to go to work. All I could see was a small silver car that had been T-boned on the driver's side. I didn't see the car that hit the silver one. There were a
  19. I was wondering what happened, so I got on here hoping to find out. We were on Ridge Road trying to turn left to go towards Hiram. The traffic was not moving at all, so we ended up taking a right nd going down Williams Lake and back around to Nebo so that we could get on 92. We came back through around 8:50 and everything was clear. We weren't able to tell exactly where the accident occurred. Hope everyone is ok.
  20. Is this something that's started recently, or do they stay chapped all the time? My lips would get chappd and I'd use some chapstick or other lip balm, and they would clear up for a day or so and then get chapped again. When I went to my dermatologist for my yearly visit last year, I mentioned it to her. She took a good look at them and took a biopsy. Turned out that it was a sort of pre-cancerous condition. She referred me to a dermatologist in Marietta, and he gave me some cream to use. The cream made my lips absoluely gross!!! They basically turned raw, scabbed up, and then peeled of
  21. Congratulations!! I have 3 with another due in April. I'm as excited about the new one as I was about the first one!! Grandkids are so wonderful and so much fun! I've had a blast buying Christmas presents for them.
  22. I was wondering the same thing. We've been by several times, including today, and it looked like they were no longer in business.
  23. This is ridiculous. That boy, 12 years old or not, is a violent, cold-hearted murderer. At age 12, a child knows right from wrong and knows you don't bash a baby in the head. It's just a matter of time until he kills again. I have a relative who is a Cobb County police officer. He called the boy a monster, and he has inside details that the public doesn't know.
  24. What a doll he is!!! Those are some of the best Christmas pictures I've ever seen.
  25. We only buy for the kids. We always give my step-daughter and her husband money, probably about $200, which my husband will give them. Now that my three nieces are older (21 and two 15-year-olds) we will give them $20 cash each. I'm giving my girls $100 each and spending about $100 to $150 on each of the 3 grandchildren. I try my best to keep it even money-wise. The grandkids are still too young to know if one gets a couple of more presents than the other, but I don't feel right spending more on than the other. Next year there will be two more grandkids to buy for, so I'll probably pick
