  1. Whatever the cause/motive, it had nothing to do with terrorism. (Just helping out LE in their inevitable initial statement.)
  2. Remember Vince? "You're gonna love my nuts!"
  3. That is funny. But it landed 4 feet from its launch pad...impressive.
  4. I want to laugh every time I hear "God as my witness".

    Good

He got less than he should've, IMHO. But at least he got something. What a loser.
  6. I think he'd be a good candidate, but I also don't think his candidacy will go anywhere. We shall see...this has been a strange campaign so far.
  7. Oh, cute! I'll have to take the nephew, I'm guessin'...
  8. BTW - I really am not dissing the sentiment in the story...I do think that's a good lesson for kids to learn. However, I think it's also important for them to learn that sometimes bad people want to do bad things and it's up to good people to stop them.
  9. Very sweet, and I get the (true) sentiment behind it. However, I don't want to rely on a flower to protect me from a bullet.
  10. Oh, hush. We won't bother you. If you don't get in our way, we won't bother you.
  11. I love this. I love Christmas, but I hate the sappy crap that goes with it (think that idiotic insipid "Christmas Shoes" song which makes me want to stab myself in the ear with a pencil when I hear it). My mother is like you, though. She'd just as soon sleep through it. Tree and outside decorations will go up next week when 8yo nephew is out of school. He already is planning where to put everything. Traditions are AWESOME, and of course, it doesn't matter what is given, when you do it, etc....it matters that you do it with those you love. Love your post.
  12. And now, apparently six men from Pak/Afg were already into the country in AZ before being detained. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/19/exclusive-6-men-from-pakistan-afghanistan-busted-illegally-entering-arizona-from-mexico/ It's my understanding that one of the biggest problems for soldiers returning from Afg is that they had a hard time reconciling themselves to the fact that the people fighting them were often children, and that those children were who they had to fight to defend themselves. We already know they use women; the other day in the big raid in Paris, one
  13. Eight were apprehended at the Laredo border crossing trying to get in. Another story says it was 2 men, 2 women, 4 children. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/18/report-8-syrians-caught-at-texas-border-in-laredo/
  14. Apropos of nothing, my mother used to say that Bill Clinton would rather climb a tree to tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth. Good ol' Bill - funny to think how dangerous we conservatives used to think him, and now how we fondly wish we only had him to deal with. I actually think I'd like Bill if I met him in person...I think he's all about making people feel good, and about being friends with people, etc. I think that's what drove him in politics, rather than hard core ideology. That's Hillary's purview. Whatever happens, the GOP will cave, just like they always
  15. As a commenter on a conservative site said the other day, who'd have ever thought we'd see a President of France striking quickly and decisively against an enemy and the President of the US being a cheese-eating surrender monkey? It's a strange world we live in. I don't look for Obama to do much more than he has already. He is clearly annoyed that people don't want the Syrians here, and refuses to see ISIS for what they are. ISIS' plan is to overtake the West (and indeed the whole world) and set up the Caliphate for the 12th imam. They are like the Energizer Bunny...they just keep goin
  16. Sounds painful, but I'll take your word for it. I'm just saying what his military record said and how he was classified.
  17. Cain's a Vietnam vet? You have my adoration, sir. That was a hellhole of a situation, and about as poorly managed as it could have been. My uncle came home a changed man, and not for the better. He died from what I believe was exposure to Agent Orange, and his son, who is now 40+ was born severely deformed like the kids you see in pictures who were born there after the Agent Orange use. Anyhoo, thank you for your service, sir. I don't dislike you, but I see you in a new light now.
  18. Not just malls, but sporting events, subways, etc. I'm sure the Paris attackers knew the President was at the soccer game the other day, but thank the Lord the security guards wouldn't let them in due to their odd-looking vests. So they blew themselves up outside with not too many other casualties.
  19. RE: Trump - he got four education deferments (like thousands of other kids did) and when he did register, he was classified 1Y (later 4F), not eligible to serve due to medical condition, which apparently was due to bone spurs in his foot/feet. He also had a high draft number had he become eligible later.
  20. In which case, they may bite some of the leaders attending. Just sayin'.
  21. Hallelujah on the coverage!!! CC did you good. I'm just so sorry you're having to go through this. And after all that researching and hunting for the right washer/dryer, too. Dang it!!!
  22. Yeah, or possibly some guy's ex who's mad at her for dating him.
