I see the notice on the school district website. So now do they spend an extra 15 minutes in their last period of the day (MS & HS) or are they changing the schedule all day to have another 2 1/4 minutes in each class?

I totally understand the perv aspect of it, it is frustrating though that we can not see exactly what happened to my two yr old in while in the bathroom. The classroom has only one teacher and the half doors. Yes, the director & staff did an excellent job of handling this incident! They have always been great handling any concerns I've had (of which there haven't been many). When I posted this topic, I was thinking more about protecting my own, not the violation of another's privacy. It is a fine line to find that balance.

Thank you for the update & for helping them out. Please let me know if their family needs anything right now- I know his mom has a lot on her shoulders!

Let me clarify that it is closed circuit camera and the only one with access to view the tapes is the center director.

My son had an incident at his daycare that took place in the bathroom, out of camera range for the classroom. It was then his word against the teacher- based on the video in the classroom leading up to the bathroom incident & what we could see on the camera after teacher & my son came out of the bathroom, the teacher was let go. It was NOT an instance of "inappropiate touching" but rather an inappropriate form of discipline. My question is- should cameras be permitted in daycare bathrooms for the classrooms in which the children still require assitance from their teachers? That

My son's teammate suffered a compound tib/fib fracture (lower bone broken through the skin)during practice yesterday. The player had to be flown to a trauma center for treatment- does anyone have an update on his condition? I'll have to wait until I see my son at home tonight to get the boy's mom's #; If anyone knows this student- please let me know if there is anything his mom needs right now- she was very emotional yestrday (understandably so)but I wanted her to know that the team is praying for him & to let us know if there is anything we can do.

Emery boards- the good old fashioned brown ones. You can't clip a baby's nails right away and the emery boards along with hand mitts are great to keep them from scratching their face. I was amazed at how long my baby's nails were.

I've been thinking along those lines- what can I spike his bath water with LOL!! He can't help being so sweet I guess.......

My toddler is the one being bitten, almost daily by another child in his class. The bites are unprovoked- the teacher & class cameras have verified that. When the director has talked to the mom she says "I bite her back to teach her a lesson"- makes me wonder if that's really the best course of action- I can see from numerous replies on here that others think it is- but how do you really teach a kid not to bite by biting them? Guess, since I don't have a biter I'll see what works for us when/if I have to cross that bridge but I was really curious what methods other parents use.

I've heard everything from "nothing" to "bite 'em back" and everything in between. Our little one is two, almost 3 and this is the current phase in the daycare class. Just curious how you handle biting.....

Now, three are confirmed dead as a result of this shooting. This tragedy has affected the Scoggins Middle School Family. The daughter/niece of two of the victims is a student there. Please pray for this family!

I hope tomorrow is a good cram/review day then, I know the kids will be a little ummm, uninterested after their long weekend Thanks for posting Dr. Fraker's email- they really should update their website then too.

I just checkd the SPHS website & it says that the semester exam "changed' date is 1/12 ~ tomorrow. . . . with two extra days off I can only hope he's prepared no matter if its tomorrow or Wed when they start.

My high schooler wants to go back! He's exempted his exams for Tues- so he'd get a quick break anyways..... Sounds like its time to get the extension cords and set the space heaters out along the roads

My husband is trying to make it home from the fire dept- he is now helping a civilian who flipped his car trying to navigate the ice- Yes it snowed yesterday- yes the roads are frozen- Stay home unless you absolutely must leave!! I see many inquiries about this road or that road- if you feel the need to ask- it's probably best to stay home! Just my $0.02 worth-

And my "pay attention now" was geared towards Mr. Dis' comment- I really need to remember to preview my posts so I don't come across incorrectly either...... -

There was actually a minor accident (bumping mirrors) that resulted from the ignorance of the civilian driver. The PCFD employee received a warning from GSP ~ not sure why either. The only motorized vehicle in the state that has the right to "not yield" to an emergency vehicle is a ....Mailtruck- yep- they are federal vehicles and don't "have" to pull over. Sadly- this incident came on the heels of losing a firefighter brother, the DCFD paramedic that was killed after being ejected from his ambulance while responding to a call- the other car in this incident didn't heed the lights & -
Actually, there is an engineer that is in a LOT of trouble Cobb Co requires all retaining walls over 3 feet in ht. to be designed by a registered professional engineer, submitted to the county for review & at the completion of construction, the engineer is required to submit a certification letter to the county stating that the wall was constructed to meet or exceed all local building codes. I have permitted numerous retaining walls in Cobb Co., the liability lies solely on the engineer who designed the system. There is typically a one year warranty on retaining walls after constru

ooooh- I wanna know more about the Kindle! Let me know your thoughts after using it for a few months- please!! -
All the grocery stores are closed, there are a couple of convenience stores & drug stores open~ Wal-mart doesn't even open again until midnight..... I'm very happy so many places are closed today- and they should be! Others should not be waiting on & serving us today~ everyone should have the ability to reflect on the reason for the saeson and spend time with family & friends. Christmas didn't come as a surpise, there was ample opportunity to plan ahead.... And- I am grateful for those that do work on the holiday though- my husband is a firefighter so I know all too well

Unfortunately it is legal. The EBT card is for food stamps & "welfare". The sign is referring to the "welfare" or cash benefits that are put on the card each month. The card holder can get cash back, etc- instead of mailing a check every month the benefits are electronically credited to their card. They can use the cash for ANYTHING they want. Foodstamps are different- there are restrictions on them.
