I also get annoyed when the news folks mispronounce Coweta County. They say co-wee-ta. Well anybody from Ga knows it sounds just like it would if you said, "Have you ever seen a cow eat a county?"

I think it's funny!! But then, I'm one of "those people" who laugh at people who walk into a pole or trip over their own feet. :-)

Yes, they've been reporting on storm damage. There were many large trees either uprooted or snapped in half in the area where Acworth crosses from Cobb into Paulding.

Yea, where is the drive in??

Ughkkkkk! Is it just me or does his song sound just like something Donny Osmond would've sung back in his day??

It was a sign for someone running for an elected position. (And who says I didn't get her license??) Actually I didn't write it down, but I pretty much followed her all the way to the street she lives on.

Kroger, backyard garden, or Burger's Market. We've been eating a lot of salads at home this summer, either as a side with dinner, or add meat and make it the whole dinner. I just pick up a few more items at the grocery store that I usually don't keep on hand to make the salads a little different. I love the little pickled corn and pickled okra things, chopped up onions, carrots, celery, raw brocolli, cauliflour (spelling??), leftover grilled chicken, sliced up deli ham, left over taco meat, salsa, etc. Try some different dressings, croutons, or crackers that you don't usually eat. Or

One day last week I saw a lady stop her car, get out, pull up a sign out of someone's yard, put it in her car, and drive off. At first I thought maybe someone else had put a sign in her yard that she didn't want, but when she drove past that driveway, I realized she didn't live there. Can I assume she was doing something that was just WRONG? Or can you think of an explanation for this that would make it OK?

Are these new or used?? Just kidding! Kimberly Clark is a great company.

I was diagnosed with Graves disease about 20 years ago, took radioactive iodine to reduce the function of my thyroid, and now take generic synthroid every day. Once we got the dose right, the only time I've had much of a change is when I was pregnant. Now I only have to have blood levels tested once a year with my family physician. Although I was a little freaked to hear that I had a "disease" at such a young age (early 20's) it has been a very easy problem to live with. Occasionally it seems like all my hair is falling out, but it NEVER gets to the point where you can tell by looking at i

Thank you so much for you heartfelt words. While some were difficult to hear, this is exactly what I needed to know. When my mom first tol me a couple of days ago, I had no idea that this disease was typiclly fatal SO fast. It's taken me a few days to read enough to know how horrible her ordeal could be. Dear God, give us strength.

My cousin, who is only 37, was just diagnosed with ALS. They think she has had it about 2 years already. Does anyone have any experience with this horrible disease? The whole family is devastated. She has two precious little girls under the age of 4.

What is Learning Bridge and what do they know about ASP?
jola replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Learning Bridge is interviewing / hiring people who have been working in the ASP programs already. In the past, these people were paid extra for working ASP thru Paulding Co. The school system was never in the ASP business to make a profit, just to serve a need for our students to have a safe place to go after school. So other than it costing a few dollars more per kid, I wouldn't think that parents and children will see very much difference from the current ASP program. I don't know if they will be offering different activities during ASP time. -
I say bring back Charles Darwin.

Laughter. find something that really cracks you up and laugh out loud. -
I think Mr. Cole will be great, and I'm very excited to hear that he got it. I'm just a little upset that I had to get this info from p.com. How did everyone else find out about it?

Also, before you go freaking out or hating on people, look to see what their offense was and when it happened. I have one living near me. He is 30 years old and was convicted of some indecent activity with a minor.....13 years ago!! So this could mean he was 17 messing around with a girl a few months younger than he was. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to hold that against him.

Oh, that's so sad. My prayers are with her friends and family, and also with the staff and students she worked with. Does anyone know what happened to her?
-
hmmm. I see your point. That's sad, isn't it. Oh, well, bump to keep it current on pcom!

Why haven't I seen this on the Atlanta news? Maybe I haven't watched the news enough lately, but typically if there is a missing person, it is on every station at least a couple of times a day.

Did you check the license plates of the cars in the ditches? Were they from Ga or "up north where they know how to drive in a quarter inch of snow" ???
