  1. I hope they can get their money back, but it's doubtful they will. Maybe they will chalk it up to being too naive and learn from it. Harris put on a good show, which he made sure was witnessed in a public parking lot instead of at work where fewer people would see him. (Again, assuming not many people leave work at 4:00) what the public needs to understand is that LE has no obligation to explain their actions to the public / media while a case is under investigation. Obviously they had suspicions from the very beginning and had a reason to take him in. All those that fell for the "accident" ex
  2. I want his job! Come in at 9:30, take a lunch break with friends, stop by the store for some light bulbs, sext a few friends (where did he do this??) and then leave around 4:00 to go see a movie with friends. His friends and coworkers may have thought he was a "nice guy", but I bet not many of his coworkers thought he was a very good employee.
  3. Leanna and Ross were put together at police station, wife and father put together. What was he emotional about. “It was all about him. I can’t believe this has happened to me? Why am I being punished for this? What am I going to do. I’m going to lose my job.” Wife: “Did you say too much?” Ross to Leanna: “He looked peaceful. His eyes were closed. His mouth was closed.” Stoddard: Actually, Cooper’s “eyes were not closed. Mouth not closed.” Ross to Leanna: “I dreaded how he’d look.” This is from AJC.com
  4. I hate the lawyer ones to join the lawsuit for specific products....if I hear that lady say bladder MESSCHH one more time....ugh!
  5. Sounds like some physical therapy would be helpful. I've heard of setting up a pan of sand or rice and trace letters in it with your finger or unsharpened pencil. Making the correct motion in a larger tactile area with their hand/arm/wrist/fingers trains the brain. Then the can bring that information to a smaller motion on paper. Also I've seen horrible handwriting on kids who have nothing wrong other than ADHD, and they just have a hard tile making their hand work well as quickly as their brain wants to.
  6. I think the new law is a good idea on paper, but I don't think it will help. It may actually INCREASE road rage. Think about it....today if you are short tempered and behind an idiot slow poke in the left lane, you think, "what an idiot!" And you ride their bumper, flash your lights, and eventually pass them on the right. After the law goes into effect, you still have the idiot slow poke pissin you off in the left lane, but in your head you're thinking, "this is against the law....where's a cop when you need one?" You do the same thing.....but you are even more mad!
  7. After I posted earlier I looked at KSUs website and didn't see the class listed. It looks like a few other places had some options. Google it. Also, some churches who have a deaf ministry and an interpreter will offer classes periodically.
  8. KSU has a great class! It is part of their continuing education program, so you don't have to be enrolled in college. When I took it several years ago the lady who taught it was completely deaf, so you really got to see the facial expressions. There is a whole culture that only deaf people and those who learn to sign can understand. I'm not sure if the same lady is still teaching the class, but she was a good resource for learning about the deaf community. Good luck. I hope that some of your friends and family will learn ASL with you. I wish it was taught in schools! From what I unde
  9. This was a great story, and I'm glad you shared it. I think a gift for Mark and for the neighbor is the appropriate thing to do. Although Mark did not make any money on this deal, his gracious attitude and the fact that you posted the story, will earn him future customers who may not have known him in the past. :-)
  10. Most of the people who respond to this post are more than likely NOT the people the rule was created for. If you are sick, injured, or have a family emergency, you usually miss a couple of days. That's normal. But you would be shocked at how many kids miss 15, 20, or more days of school each year. It's really pathetic when you see their situations, or read some of the excuse notes. Also, there are many kids who attend school most of the time, but for the life of them, can't make it there on time. Again, most of the people reading this are not the type of people I'm speaking of.

  12. Not sure if I'm more disturbed by the image or by the fact that justgettingby could figure this out!
  13. did you look in Picketts Mill subdivision? Most of the lots there are 2 acres, some are more. in the back corner is a phase that is smaller, but I think they are still one acre average. I know a lot of the homes are a little older than your preference, but many have been updated, or you could update to your liking. Also, you could add an additional driveway or garage building if you found a house that suited your other requirements. Sounds like you are already past this phase...just thought I'd suggest it.
  14. You define yourself as a minority group?
  15. Stripes with Bill Murry ..can't answer the rest without looking it up!
  16. The truth hurts. The foods children eat and the choices children make are taught by parents.
  17. The Cartersville office is still in the same location, but they've added on to the building. The new entrance is around to the back of the building on the left side.

    PB&J

I love mine mixed together so it's all smooth. Also, if you get Grape Jam instead of jelly it will spread on much smoother without lumps in the jelly!
  19. Does anyone know what grade the classrooms that were damaged were? We could send supplies to help, but supplies for K-1 are much different from supplies needed for 4-5.
  20. Same here. What's up with that?
  21. I guess 7:30 pm isn't really that late. It just seems late in the winter when it's been dark for an hour or two and we're all settled in for the evening. My complaint falls under the "annoyed because its loud as hell" category, topped off with "my dog is a big baby and is about to hyperventilate". I'm not really concerned with the safety issues, since our homes are spread out pretty well.
  22. Wonder why my neighbors feel it necessary to shoot their guns over and over and over....and this is in a subdivision!
