  1. Since you asked, mine is 7 and absolutely. Perfect example - my aunt has been in town for two days, and Mini-Me is one giant wound-up ball of emotions. Three times in the past two days she has literally thrown a toddler-style tantrum, complete with stomping and immediately bursting into tears...over absolutely nothing. Earlier today, she got upset because I walked into her room to tell her to put her shoes on and she was already in the process. Instant tears and sobs, followed by 'I'm trying, and you never listen to me!' Then she went and flailed herself into the kitchen floor, and rhyt
  2. Why don't you just resize it in your computer's generic paint program?
  3. Absolutely true. My sister and I always sync'd up when I'd spend long weeks/vacations with them, as did my step-mom and I. My closest girlfriends and I are always within days of each other. And, I have two or three friends who don't even have that 'problem' anymore (IUD or missing parts) and they get hormonal (and one of them even gets crampy/bloated) when I do if we're around each other alot. We won't even get started on Mini-Me. (She's only 7, by the way)
  4. <-- You need an update. That white suit is killin' me.
  5. A collective 'you', or are you simply one or the other?
  6. And it is a most excellent photo of you. <-- That's me.

  8. When Thing 2 gets older, I'm signing you up to teach him how to ride! No really - I was on four-wheelers and dirt bikes by the age of four. I've been begging my dad and step-brother to teach HR (I quit riding before I was ten and she doesn't listen to me), and they never did. Now, she's seven, and way too chicken to even try. Totally missed her HR phase, and she would have LOVED four-wheelers! Thing 2 will ride. Thing 2 will probably wreck. Mommy will have a heart attack. All will be okay...that's what boys do.
  9. I said I wasn't biased, but I may have been biased in the dad's favor more than the mom's. In my situation, child support hasn't always been an option. In one situation, his bills exceeded his income (basic bills, not even a cell phone for 'extra'), and he was supposed to pay almost $600 a month in child support. I didn't take a penny. I couldn't, morally (in my own, personal opinion). Kiddo was taken care of, and he had a roof over his head that allowed for kiddo to have visitation with him. In another situation, kiddo's dad was/is unemployed. I received/receive a bit from the unemploymen
  10. Mah bad. All I saw was 'community college'. So many links around here nowadays, who has time to read all of 'em?
  11. Just wanted to point out that not all college students are kids. Actually, most of the summer students at KSU are my age or older, as the 'kids' still want their summer. I would have to have more background info on the professor and the course material before I would decide if I would take the class. It does sound related to my field of study, and the history of protests would be awesome, but not so much a focus on the Occupy Movement. I can't imagine teaching something that has recently started/going on.
  12. I don't have an e-reader, though I do have a few e-books on my laptop for school. I am currently reading several 'real' books, though: The Upanishads Life Divine by Sri Aurobindo I and Thou by Martin Buber and Muslim Jesus by Khalidi Just finished reading The Nietzsche Reader, and loved it.
  13. That's what my dad gets at The Vortex. I thought he had lost his mind, but he ate it all! I get whatever burger it is with the pineapple, or a veggie burger. I LOOOOOVE their veggie burgers!
  14. Hey now! If Dd didn't have special needs, I'd be all over being an un-schooler. I am neither kooky (in the sense you're referring to), nor would I let my child roam freely around a store, nor am I too stupid for words. Mom screwed up and almost had a molested and/or dead kid. That part I get. What few seemed to be mentioning is that they were brave enough to air this on television, showing that their daughter fought back and it worked. While the child should never have had to defend for herself (that's what parents are for), it's also encouraging to see, through video, that
  15. Go to Target, invest in both a black and a white bella band, and wear it under your pre-pregnancy t-shirts. Thank me later.
  16. ^^ this is how I feel about it. I don't like saying 'You're welcome' because, to me, it's almost like saying 'I know I just went out of my way to help you', or 'I'm perfectly aware I just did you a favor'. 'No problem', on the other hand, lets people know that it was absolutely no problem for me to do what I did. I say it with a smile, and I smile when I hear it. Honestly, the lack of 'thank you' here recently bugs me much worse.
  17. I've paid anywhere from $125-185 a week for Mini-Me (the $185 was in East Cobb). It may wind up being cheap per hour, but her 'class' had ten or more children. The in-home daycares I spoke to quoted around $140-165 for a week. I've never quoted just three days, but two days (recently, for an infant) was anywhere from $50-75.
  18. NC - next time you tell me to eat a cheeseburger, I'm reminding you of this lady!
  19. I used to come to NC with the same complaints. Poor girl listened to me b*tch over, and over, and over. Finally she looked me square in the face and said 'You got yourself in to this, put on your big girl panties and get yourself out'. So, I did. And I will her forever for it. There are some people who just enjoy complaining so much that something like that wouldn't help. I had several of those, and finally just cut them off. You can't help someone who's not willing to help themselves, and someone who always complains the rainbow is too bright just isn't enjoyable to be a
  20. I wound up on zofran. Ginger helped me alot, but I think you've tried that.
  21. I was in there Wednesday!!! ...I bought a $13 dress on clearance for a wedding. Only went because I knew the dress was there - never shopped there before then, and probably won't go back. Just not a big fan of the place.
  22. That entirely depends on whether you're Buddhist, Hindu, or Jainist, as they all have completely different concepts of 'karma'. Technically, though, karma originated from the Vedas not as the 'cause and effect' cycle westerners seem to have thrown upon it, but as nothing more than sacrificial rituals. There were specific times, days, fire sizes, circle sizes, and chants for each sacrifice. If one followed the exact directions of the ritual (which was the karma) then the 'gods' *had* to grant whatever it was the ritual was dedicated to. But, if you're going by the false, Berkley
  23. Thanks for all the help! I think I fixed the problem - I found Infinity Convertible dresses on Etsy in kids sizes. Then, we can get the same color, and they each can wear it however they want. And both of them will continue growing into the dress, which can be used as a shirt later. Win-win!
