  1. So the uncles' will to live, while less than the fathers, was greater than the fathers will to procreate. ... or else, with a ten percent chance, the ephemeral uncle was lucky. pubby
  2. Nope. Not mine:) My place is actually in the flight path for HJ and I've noticed a few large jets flying at what looks like 5,000 ft with their engines screaming (and destroying my peace and quiet). What does that mean? Well, it means that I'm likely to gain some peace and quiet if operations commence at Silver Comet field as the airliners headed for Hartsfield-Jackson would be coming from another direction. At least there is a chance Second, it doesn't mean that I'm against airlines flying out of H-J ... Or boycotting those who support H-J. Then I'd be acting as boneheade
  3. You bully people. I respond. As I stated above I tried two times to interject with legitimate conservative thoughts that would be good discussion and in both cases the result were snide remarks, nasty comments and pubby bashing. I simply called repeated the comments made to make the point. I think it is that you guys love dishing it out but are incapable of taking it. pubby
  4. And, that's a major intellectual step above your typical Tom and Jerry cartoons.. And, that's a major intellectual step above your typical low brow snide remarks, nasty comments and pubby bashing. pubby
  5. I present a congressional research service report produced in 2006 (when the GOP controlled Congress, BTW) which simply discussed the US policy in regard to the International Criminal Court, which was an extension of International Law that points directly to the Nuremburg trials for war crimes after the NAZI regime fell (and resulted in the hanging of some of their 'leaders' and the imprisonment for crimes against humanity for others.). The document, had they read it, did not take sides, I might add. Instead of taking the high road of reasoned debate, the cabal here made personal attacks.
  6. While it is not statute, this link to a Congressional Research Service report on the US insistence on immunity from the International Criminal Court set up by the UN does discuss the issues raised by CC and so curtly refuted. I think it instructive that the policy of Bush administration to demand immunity for its actions stands in stark contrast with the historical record; specifically, the US insistence and approach to war crimes established at Nuremberg at the end of WWII. So while there are no statutes or pending criminal actions against Bush, his own CIA Director Michael Hayden say
  7. Hell, I was talking about the islamofascists that are acting out, dummy. You're their victim; not me. You take waaaaay too much personally. pubby
  8. Happy thanksgiving to you and all the other folks who make time to converse on pcom. Oh, and it will be a happy and loving Thanksgiving ... with out so much as a hint of fear ... because I won't let the fear mongers ruin it. pubby
  9. It was a missing man, early 60's, who is mentally challenged with a heart condition and other medical problems who wandered off about noon today. Family members alerted authorities about 5 p.m. and the search was on. He turned up back at home about 9 p.m. and is reported to be safe and sound. pubby
  10. While I don't buy this analysis hook line and sinker, it is imminently more thoughtful on the topic of ISIS than any of the blatant bashing I've heard from the local neocons. The writer is John Bolton, the neocon whom Bush could never get confirmed for the UN post because of his ... well history. Still, for the benefit of you guys who have been drooling over Putin, Bolton sees his motives and draws some observations on what Putin and Russia are aiming for ... and also how our mideast policy, because we've largely sided with adherents of the more radicalized Sunni sect, put us in confl
  11. Thanks Curtis and the same to you and all PCOMMERS. pubby
  12. The idea that people disagree with his policies is not the issue. I disagree with some and agree with others. The same would have been true with GWB - I.e. I disagree with some and agree with others. What is most notable, though, is that it doesn't make any difference what policy he adopts. Hell, he's supported numerous GOP initiated plans and incorporated their ideas (that I would often disagree with) and you guys would flip on those policy initiative just to oppose. That was the plan concocted back in 2009 and it was justified because the last time there was a crash the magnitude of t
  13. I wish you were on camera because I can't believe you guys said that with a straight face. pubby
  14. The reference was to the demographic composition of the ridiculous right that met in the days after McCain's loss and vowed to wreck his administration any and every way they could. This is and has been the strategy since Jimmy Carter was elected. It is a well known and understood approach. It is the essence of negative politics. That is the GOP's stock and trade. I mean, Benghazi, Ebola, ISIS have all been presented as existential threats as fear, loathing, hate and negativity are your themes ... not to mention the war on gays, the war on women, the war on drugs and the war on the mi
  15. Oh, Obama is a very skilled 'orator' when working from a prepared script. But even then he misses wide swaths of the public (about 70 percent of white and older than 45 crowd who have never listened for some peculiar reason.) NJ: Given the history of the NEOCONs ... Admiral Poindexter with his successful campaign for TIA and the disaster of the Bush years; I don't know that our society could endure four years of Republican rule. pubby
  16. The more bellicose attitude shows 'women can be tough' ... which, if you look at her hopes for Hillary, provides confirmation of those to the right You also fail to take into account the influence that the defense industry - big in California - has on her (and has had.) Obama is a lame duck politically ... but that doesn't make him wrong. Also, he is not and never has been terribly good at explaining things to the masses. pubby
  17. Politicians read polls and California is home to numerous defense industries. She is entitled to her opinion. Regardless, the President is responsible for foreign policy. Diane Finestein is a politician. pubby
  18. Politicians read polls and California is home to numerous defense industries. She is entitled to her opinion. Regardless, the President is responsible for foreign policy. This makes the apocalypse and the idea that mankind's reign on earth is ending the key issue. I'm going to start a poll about that. pubby
  19. That is patently absurd. If you think ignoring ISIS is what we're doing, you are an idiot. The silliness you exude is that there is only one possible response - military action. As I said many times, you have no imagination as there are a multitude of things - clandestine things - that could be done that could be imminently more effective. I will add that I choose not to describe them because, being clandestine, they would likely not be well known. But let it suffice it could include assassination, the appearance of operations by our enemy, the hiring of mercenaries, the juxta
  20. You both have this wrong. It is more like you are high-fiving the Dentist that went to Africa to kill a trophy lion ... and justifying it because lions sometimes kill people ... except that the good doctor only fired a shot from a high powered rifle whereas, figuratively, you're napalming the game reserve killing everything from elephants and giraffes to buzzards and creepy-crawlers (war is indiscriminate.) And it is not heartstrings ... it is recognizing that your reaction would fan the flames of a religious war that would put billions of people in conflict that could potentially last ce
  21. Got this bit from RAWSTORY which apparently picked up from the International Business Times where a group associated with the hacker group Anonymous said they had infiltrated the back channel and noted that the jihadists were planning attacks in Paris, the US, Italy and Lebanon this Sunday. Anonymous said one of the attacks being planned is an assault at the WWE Survivor Series event scheduled to take place in the Philips Arena in Atlanta at 7.30 p.m. Sunday. The hackers said they had shared the information with authorities but were concerned because the authorities did not warn people

  23. No, not at all. Rejection of the Bush Doctrine asserting pre-emptive war is not mainstream ... and those who are supportive of the Bush Doctrine are either confirmed neocons ... or blithering idiots. Which one are you? I suspect the Persians ... or the Turks or possibly the Egyptians, who have been fighting, killing and dominating the Arabs for millennia, will defeat these Arabs. The only way a nuke would be exploded in this conflict would be if some jihadists stole one from the Pakistani's, smuggled it into Syria where it exploded and annihilated the ISIS leadership and others
