  1. They ought to attach a speaker to him that plays George Thurogood every time he walks into a new pasture. Can't ya just hear it? Well mooooooove in in over, yeah mooooooove in on over, mooooooove in on over cause the big dog, is movin' in.
  2. What ever it was I betcha a dollar to a doughnut, wait, how much are doughnuts now, never mind. I betcha at some point during all that the phrase "I dunno" was uttered.
  3. Looks like the scammers are moving from 770-366 to 706-369. I believe verizon originally had the last batch of numbers used. Wonder where these came from. Y'all noticed the change yet?
  4. Don't get me wrong. The Marshal was instrumental in forcing the eventual clean up of the house next door. You have to be willing to work their system and be in it dor the long haul though. The complaint process since this was moved from civil to criminal Court is less than ideal.
  5. Bet he'd a been quite fond of me too.
  6. The leaves are coming down and what was hidden now ain't. Also, I'm bored again, so if you ain't got a minute, don't start. Let's not be complaining about having wasted time on the ramblings of a bored old man, cause I warned ya. Y'all may or not remember a couple threads about the house next door and the, shall we say "extended process", of getting it cleaned up. If you don't theres pictures and all, do a search if your interested. But before that there was a couple of threads (not started by me) that actually got nasty about the doings at a house a few down on the other side. The only fact
  7. If anybody runs across a short haired, just especially lazy dog that needs a home, keep me in mind.
  8. Not much else going on around here and something occurred to me that maybe not just everybody knew about. Actually it occurred to me because I've been putting off a trip to the Depot for awhile and I'm out of stuff. That meant I had to resort to what can be had at the grocery store and it just really sucked. Environmentalists stop here, cause I'm probably about to upset you terribly. Growing up my uncle leased trucks too, and drove for, a company named Zep. Back then you could only buy Zep products in 55 gallon drums and you had to be a commercial enterprise/institution. The kind of thing yo
  9. 6 months, just cause I'd rather have a bucket of water throwed at me than dripped on me for that long.
  10. So I got a plan. I've always wanted my own sandbox. Now I've come across a few sandboxes in my day. As a matter of fact I still have access to at least a couple of sandboxes to use. There was one in particular that I particularly enjoyed using, but it was somebody else's and I didn't like there rules for using that sandbox. Especially that they wouldn't let me defecate in it anyway and anytime I liked. So finally I went and built my own sandbox. Well after built my shiny new sandbox I relized that I really didn't want to be defecating in my own pristine sand, so I decided that I would stay t
  11. Just used the site today to search back thru and find a recommendation on a local hvac. Woke up cold this morning and thanks to pcom, by this afternoon the measurements where taken and the equipment ordered. This place was at its best when it was used for stuff like that. Community. What it became was a finger wagging political peeing and overall size competition. There's a lot of blame for that all around, but it comes down to "hey, let's discuss politics and religion behind some semi-anonymity." That idea reminds me of the time as a very small hellion, when I just needed to know what woul
  12. From high atop Mt. Nebo we'll shout encouragement down to those in the water. Which last big one was about 9 houses east. Seriously though, they're calling for as much as 5 inches from last night thru Thursday without much for breaks. Sweetwater Creek will go for sure. Here's hoping the swamp, ahem I mean "watershed", will be big enough to keep south Paulding above water.
  13. Ask me after this race is over today. Chase is still out of Homestead. If you don't know what that means, well, never mind.
  14. Pig Wrestling Come watch or join a team to see which team has the best logic or skill to catch a pig in an arena of mud, then lower into bucket for the fastest time. 15. It's that time of year again. I'm doing my yearly dread of this weekends big annual moving in of the plants. Every year I ask myself do I really wanna keep doing this. There is only one window in my house with direct sunlight, two more with indirect. The one with direct is of course in my bedroom, so that's where the main jungle is. Move the bed back over a foot and jam down the living space to fit them all in. If I just put it off long enough it'll take care of itself. Anyway, if you wanna keep'em, better get'em in this weekend.
  16. Edited to say never mind,I finally remembered the conversation from April.
  17. Must have access to a bucket truck. Preferably someone you have done business with and can recommend. Any help would be appreciated. Days like today make me nervous and its time for this dead sucker to come down. I've been sitting back hoping it would come down in pieces, but watching something dead and swaying that can reach the house is nerve racking.
  18. Douglasville is a study in how not to do it. I know how that construction was supposed to start and proceed. It didn't start that way and hasn't/isn't going that way. I can think of a bunch of things that could have went wrong, with one being the most likely. I'd love to know for sure. Hiram did nothing as far as planning and pushing on 92 and Douglasville went too hard. Now their both in a bind, but D'ville will be out of theirs first........eventually.......maybe.
  19. Still smacks of some upward mobility trending kinda deal. But clothes would be a good example of your original question. Granted the bulk of my wardrobe comes wrapped in plastic and usually at least 6 to the pack. But that leaves jeans. And if you had told me at one point that I wouldn't have bought a pair of jeans in a store in more than 5 years, I'd have sworn you were crazy, but I haven't. All on line.
  20. As they've grown that monster at 278 and 92, yes it has. Unless I can get to it from behind, which leaves out the north side of 278, I ain't going. That goes double from Nov 1 thru Jan 3. Push comes to shove, I'll sneak over to Academy Outdoors on a weekday. They truly need to get the State to decide and decree where 92 through Hiram is going to end up being. Then start pushing growth that way. Sadly, it's probably to late to untie that knot in Hiram anytime this decade or next. What's with the fancy mall clothes? You ain't saving to move to crossroads are ya?
  21. And the deers last thought as he stood staring at the headlight was "Holy ..........."
  22. I know one guy that not only has a network of folks that'll call him when they know one just got hit, he'll stop and check ones that look fresh.
  23. Here's a DSA (deer service announcement). Got trucks, high dollar insurance, a predisposition to hit you instead of the ditch and the numbers of folks who will come get you and then eat you.
