  1. Closest I ever came to something like that was walking into the dentist office 23 hours and 45 minutes late. And feeling so proud that I was 15 minutes early for once, in my mind.
  2. Well I don't know when it happened or how it happened. The house has been sold apparently to a hispanic fellow who owns his own landscape business. I just met him as he loaded the boat on to a dump trailer. Said they got 3 of those commercial roll off dumpsters full of garbage (I'm talking the 30 footer type) out of the place plus the boat. They're not certain if the house is salvagable yet, so it's still there. But all the garbage is gone. For the folks that say the Marshall's Office doesn't help, I guarantee you that them going after the owner got this done. That's why the deputy put the bu
  3. I meant spicy. She is, after all, Mexican. U checked her papers? Couldn't help it.
  4. That was about 2 days after showing up covered in fleas out in the driveway. This was more than likely a food coma as she was making up for lost meals still.By the way, she likes the hot peanuts best, or did.
  5. Equal time, so was he. Him I miss even more. Rough Night https://imgur.com/gallery/v0gIZxd
  6. Mrs. Howard got me to thinking about her, and now I miss her. At least this time I took a couple of pictures. Aww https://imgur.com/gallery/ZQTW26J Ain't she cute?
  7. I'm with you. My first thought was really small library. But I'm betting if not residential, maybe a daycare. Its got that kinda look. But a daycare from scratch would seem overly expensive. That and I haven't seen a zoning notice.
  8. Yeah, yeah, that's just about ankle deep there. I can't swim so lets not just pour it on. At least now y'all can put an avatar with the faceless person whose parentage was being questioned along with his degree of intelligence and most likely, personal hygiene, while you sat in construction traffic on the west side for about 20 years.
  9. That's most usually security for your credit card that doesn't require a PIN to access.
  10. You made me curious enough to go look. If it were a convenience store it would be bigger and configured different. The grading would have been way more intense. And of the three things that keep those stores open, one of them can't be sold across the street from an elementary school. There's a permit posted by the road that'd probably tell you for sure, but why break the mystery. It looks residential to me.
  11. Another long, but I hope interesting, story because I’m bored. Stop here or you may be bored too. You’ve been warned, don’t blame me. The subject today, Dear Reader, (if you’re still there) is the memories that this time of year bring up in ones soul. These August days (and nights in my case) of 90 degrees and 90% humidity, with a 50% chance of thunderstorms 24 hours a day. Before I start, you’ve got to remember that before I retired my life was not much more than work for about 30 years. Now you may judge that as foolish, but I retired at 49, so there. Yeah, don’t let me fool you there. T
  12. Maybe is just the cultural differences, but this dang video just creeps me right the hell out. Digital Trends: Google Home too boring? You want Gateboxs cute virtual character in your life. https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/gatebox-digital-human-smart-home-release-news/
  13. One of favorite things used to be shrimp. I'm talkin' a Bubba level love. Most especially fried. Then one day on a vacation I stopped by a little shack next to the ocean. By the end of the first bite I knew that I had been lied to all my life. I had apparently never had an actual shrimp before that bite. Dear Lord, to this day that was one of the best things ever.
  14. Yeah it's the second half of that sentence that concerns me. Being the feds I could see them gutting the structure and putting it up for auction. Just enough to attract the remaining tweakers left around that know about it. If they level it and I can find out something on it, I'd bid on it just to keep any more shenanigans down. Chain the driveway and keep just enough cleared for a garage or something. This property impacts about 7 or 8 others due to its positioning. It'd be nice to know that the problems were gone from it. If anybody thinks I'm being a little over dramatic, go back thru the
  15. The last time it sold. It's WAY worse now. Surely they'll just tear that down. https://www.coldwellbankerhomes.com/ga/hiram/4005-nebo-road/pid_2181618/
  16. Does anybody know? The deputies tell me the house is falling in inside and out. I don't doubt that and I'd bet there is no copper left in there. In that case would the FHA load out the whole house in the dumpster or just the yard full of garbage? It's a full blown construction site roll off, but theres a LOT of garbage and the boat and big screen. It might be a couple dumpsters for all of it.
  17. Well, good news and bad news. There's two sheriff's trucks in my driveway as I write this. Apparently one tweaker has moved back in and the hunt is on. But like I told the cop, ones better than 47. Anyway, the good news is that according to the deputy, the FHA has taken over the house. The good part is that the Feds will clean it up. The bad part is that it's the Feds and that dumpster could sit empty for months. Here's hoping.
  18. The inference may be, but I bet the implication wasn't. Funerals are for the living. When the preacher asks does anyone object, nobody wants to here an objection. All true, if counter intuitive. These are the things we do to be relatable to others when we wish to be. 'Course sometimes folks ain't trying to be relatable. Just ....... (self edited prior to publication).
  19. Geez Dude, I'm still holding a couple of grudges from the early eighties and one from 1979 (and he's probably dead).....but you're just showing off.
  20. The first bite out of a south georgia ice cold watermelon
  21. I think I may have tinkled just a little. 11 months ago I went to the Marshall's Office about the place next door. There's been a couple of threads with pictures, http://paulding.com/forum/topic/322475-marshals-office-follow-up/ , that one has a link to the first thread in the first post. Long story short, tweakers, nasty, piled garbage, police raids regularly, complaint, some clean up, all salvage value material hauled off, tweakers moved out, nothing for months, 1 month ago property corners located and flagged, last day or three a roll off dumpster has appeared in front of the house. I a
  22. Declaring victory after winning a battle is premature. No entity EVER that held a title of "World's Blankest Anything" has given it up willingly. That's what's at stake for them. Don't get me wrong, it's entirely possible that parcel (most likely) and some limited passenger air traffic may come to that field one day. It is not a forgone conclusion right now though. It's just begun to get expensive.
  23. It wasn't meant to make money. If you run something by the voters twice and then just end run them and do it anyway...well. That indicates a push from somewhere. That type of temerity doesn't come without there being someone/thing/group/influence both watching and supporting in such away as to make those involved untouchable on the other end. It wasn't meant to make money. It was meant to provoke this fight. We just live on the battleground. Duck.
