If you're talking about a speed limit that has been reduced thru a construction zone for the duration of the construction, that is done because conditions in the area have been changed to warrant that lower speed. Also taken into consideration is that during construction the existing conditions are subject to change with limited abilities to communicate that to the public much in advance of the actual change. As for the traffic control devices being allowed to remain on site thru the project limits. If there are to be lane closures, lane shifts, and/or hazards adjacent to traffic throughou

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Investigator Doubts The Theft
Blunt Trauma replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Before that hugely broad brush gets slapped around a whole lot more, I worked in Douglas County for 20 years, in a position that required me to interact closely with all of the governments in the county (County, D'ville, Villa Rica, Lithia Springs while it lasted and D-DCWSA which is a government unto itself). I never encountered anyone that seemed or proved to be remotely crooked. That is without including law enforcement with which I had limited interaction or the court system with which I had none. There I have to grant having heard the stories going all the way back to the 70's. Ya go -
You're right. The jet crash was over near 41. There was some sort of catastrophe right at the Miford Baptist(?) Church. But for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

Found a picture the other day of my best friend and me at a table in the old Vittles after the bars closed. They were 24/7 back then and long about 2:15 am the show started. Smyrna was a big party back in the day. We'd slam that place and every person in there would be LIT UP. It was just like still being at the bar for another couple hours. Folks snuck in there own booze, questionable substances, you name it. Fights would break out every once in a while, not to mention just huge wrecks on South Cobb Dr. right out front. You just never new. It wasn't just a meal, it was an experience A

Arguing the leagalization side of this is a great deal like trying to answer the question "When did you stop beating your wife?". You're guilty when you open your mouth. That being said, I also have to take some credibility points off any "anti" position should I have witnessed incoherence on anyones part brought on by any leagal substances. In this or any other matter I default to the arguement most bolstered by personal freedom.

Steve at Sub Station II making the cheesesteaks and cussin the customers. He'd always throw the "Sir" in at the end.

Didn't grow up in Smyrna, but came of age there from the mid 70's thru the 80's. Those of you with the more questionable pasts in Smyrna around then, I'm the one you pass in Hiram and think to yourself "hey I know that guy."

Who does good car audio work around here?

Little local shop on Watts Rd in Hiram. Right behind las palmas restaraunt on 278. Honest folks that did a good job for me last year. -
Manage your expectations. The epidural results can be anywhere on the scale from absolutely no help at all to an at least temporary magic cure. The shot itself freaks you out more than anything else. It seems more like a drive-by surgical procedure than just a shot. Surgical gowns, mounted up on the table, the doctor having to use the x-ray(?) to do the proceedure and last but not least.....that big bore drill rig they "call" a needle. For me it's not pain as much as just a weird sensation from the shot itself. The real test of how good the person is doing the proceedure is the degr

The first course on a repaving such as you describe is a leveling course. It's designed too take out highs and lows. There will be roughness at the transitions, the more uneven the original surface, the more tansitions, the rougher the leveling feels. The friction course (riding surface) of the repave will normally have to meet a roughness index target. That target is lower on interstates than state routes, and the requirement loosens as you move down the infrastructure hierarchy. As of recently, roads repaved on projects funded by programs such as LARP (basically any program in whic

I swear I could see Wilfred Bremley in my head while reading the first 2 1/2 paragraphs.

Thanks for the information. Apparently there is an alledged thief living within a few houses of me. Understanding that nobodies been convicted of anything and it's probably not cool to use names, maybe a brief physical description if you have one, please. And did the red suv belong to the Nebo Rd. fella?

Wyoming!!!! That's just spooky! I've always wanted to go there since I saw on a census many years ago that Wyoming had the fewest people per square mile in the country. Plus now it has the added bonus of being right next to Colorado

If the d'ville phases are let the way that was planned, say 4 years ago, it'll be a minimum of 9-10 years from start of construction to completion in Hiram. There counting on the bypass to disperse traffic from that end. I'd look for both bypasses to be 4 laned by then.

Believe we've already been told what we want doesn't matter. It's down to which of the big dogs has the worst bite. We're just watching from around the pit. Matter of fact.........I ain't just right sure WE ain't the pit.

Every bit of the back and forth so far seems to assume (on both sides) that what the end result will be is what Blake Swafford says it will be. A couple of commercial flights a week an the rest Areospace R/D and private usage. It ain't. As earlier pointed out in another thread, most of the secrecy was to get this by three groups, City of Atlanta, Delta Airlines and the electorate that voted against the airport to begin with. Two of those three groups have something in common. They together control the World's Busiest Airport literally right down the road a piece. There is a great deal

Commission confronts issues of trust and secrecy
Blunt Trauma replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
It's possible that secrecy was required to prevent what was almost garaunteed opposition to the deal from the City of Atlanta. It's possible that secrecy was required to prevent what was almost garaunteed opposition to the deal from Delta Airlines. It's probable that secrecy was required to get this by a local electorate that voted against the airports creation in the first place. It's probable had word gotten out that commercial jet service was being instituted at this same facility that those same folks would have fomented an uprising of sorts to put a stop to it. Just sayin'. -
Yeah there were more disturbing things shoved into one TV show than I've ever seen before. Just the other day I was wondering what kind of mentality Katey Sagal must have to be married to Kurt Sutter (who wrote last night). Especially given the scenes he gave his own character. But what in the world do you have your 12 year old boy say before walking into a school with a machine pistol and two clips. That's gotta be a fine line to walk now a days. Gotta know, just gotta.
-
Last night before the little boy stood up and walked into the school with the automatic weapon, he mouthed something. Didn't say a word all the way thru the show, just that one moment. I backed it up, slowed it down, time after time, but coundn't make out what he said. I've searched several times today and this thing is being discussed a great deal. Even to the point of one blog that used video frames of everything the boy did throughout the program discussing each, but no mention anywhere about him mouthing something. I know one of y'all is a closet lip reader with a few minutes to ki

All things are relative. If your days are good and old enough, there are the days before the nanny state.
