I know lots of times you have to stick pretty firm due to circumstances. If you come to a point of being open to an offer on this one, I'd like a shot.

At the risk of being labeled a "barbarian". Watching the news this morning about the UVA student and the outrage because he got a boo boo on his head has reaffirmed a closely held belief. Somewhere along the line our society came to the conclusion that NO ONE, NEVER, EVER, deserves, nor would they benefit from, nor would society as a whole benefit from, their receiving a good old fashioned ass whoopin'. Folks, a lot of societal problems, I believe, can be traced to the decline of the immediate first hand possibility of the suffering of consequences related to actions. Granted the practice

Several years ago a "meat and three" opened up in Hiram and folks were on here just expounding the virtues of the place to no end. When I broke down and went to try it what wasn't out of a can was out of a freezer. There are still times when eating places are being discussed that raves are posted about two different BBQ's that I wouldn't go back to unless every other eating place, grocery and/or convienence store within 10 miles had burnt down and I was about to perish from hunger. On top of that I still believe somebody owes me $7 from a gyro kit I got talked into buying from Aldi's. All this

An addict is going to be an addict, period. No matter what they have access to. Gateway is a bunch of crap, there's millions thru the gate and still just rolling in the grass on the other side. See what I did there? Rolling in the grass......now that right there is funny... I don't care who you are. Lord forgive me for that and please feed the starving pygmies. Why folks feel the need, or feel that they even have the right, to control what someone else does inside their own home is just beyond me. Smacks of theocracy. The worst abuses have always beeen committed by those who believed they- 90 replies

There are just bunches of variables that could cause the cost to vary from cheap(relatively) to high dollar. Anybody that tries to give you a price without laying eyes on or at least asking those same bunches of questions is just blowin' smoke. If you're the kind of person with the will power to withstand a hard sell, then find someone that gives free estimates and have them come by. Even then make sure that you understand EVERYTHING that they say they are going to do all the way to finished product (base prep, base material if any, thickness of materials, material classes, finish, joints

At least once you owe it to yourself to splurge on a jar of Reese's PB. It's expensive, but good lord that stuffs tasty. -
Unless the tree was damaged or deseased, and you or someone else actually notified the property owner that it was damaged or deseased, AND you can PROVE that they were notified of this fact, then their insurance will not pay and they are not liable. You can argue the unfairness of life all you want, but I can garauntee you this will be the outcome.

It's seems statistics prove that the vast majority of people who will kick puppies don't have enough green leafy vegetables in their diet. Therefore, Popeye will indeed kick your ass, but not your puppy. I believe that we both speak with about the same authority on these two matters.

When you have to gather all your teeth up in one room so you can brush'em all at the same time. When the audience of one that used to watch you shave in the morning is now much more interested in watching you tie your shoes. When you realize that you've stopped chasing women because you're afraid you might catch one. I could go on, but now I'm depressed......thanks. -

About the Administration Building, I actually asked about the new security going on the first time i went thru it. It is in response to the new "Open Carry" law. You're most likely going to find this going on at all areas of government buildings open to the GP. Apparently they are concerned if you post that firearms are not allowed you open yourself up to some liability if you don't proactively enforce the rule and then something happens. I see their point, but that's a big expense when you multiply it by the number of places to which it would apply. Maybe the legislature needs to address -
Western By pass to airport back into planning stages

The County has done/is doing what they can about SR 92 with the bypass(es). They can't just decide to do what they want with a State Highway because they don't own it. As for the section of the highway running thru town there are a couple of considerations that lead me to believe that section will never be widened in it's current location. You can't build/rebuild a road of the size that would be required in a vacumn. Take the two bridges in that area for example. You can't just widen the existing bridges, they are past what could be considered their usefull life. Replacing them means u -
Western By pass to airport back into planning stages
Blunt Trauma replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Understanding that this road is more two decades from now kind of fantasy and I'm probably stepping into a fire here I just gotta disagree. Regardless of whether the airport even exists, this county has taken the first steps towards an expansion that requires an economic base that just isn't here, meaning infrastructure and jobs. Without those coming, and soon, the best that can be hoped for is stagnation if not straight up decline. A retricted access roadway providing direct and convenient access to the major interstates is the fastest and best way to invite and accomodate the economic g -

Where you reckon he/they came up with'em from? And there was an outcry 3 years ago when they were trotted back out. That was the 3rd or 4th incarnation of the perimeter or parts thereof. -

I could very easily be wrong, but I believe if what is on the scribble map had been proposed anywhere as shown, there would be headlines screaming across Metro Atlanta. Those, if not mistaken, are proposed routes from a long ago time for the western arc of the "Outer Perimeter" from the 80's (maybe early 90's too). -

That's widening of existing and it's most likely all about congestion relief. The (alleged?) new portion would be to far down the pike to be a consideration in this planning. -

Was there any indication what type of road was being proposed? Two lane, four lane with/without median, restricted access, limited accesss? If it's anything less than a restricted accesss four lane with a median, then I'd have to agree that it would be a waste. The reason for building a road there would primarily be economic developement (that's with or without an airport, I'm not commenting on the airport either way), (I swear), with an easing of congestion closer into town as a happy side benefit.
