Sorry, but where in the First Amendment does it say that your freedom to worship as you see fit is revoked if it hurts someone's feelings? The thing that makes this country great is that everyone has equal rights, whether they be black, white, Christian, KKK, Muslim, neo-Nazi... anything. As long as these people aren't breaking any laws (and they aren't), they have the right to build whatever they want there.

If our liberties don't protect us in cases where we do no more than offend someone, they are not liberties. Have countless men and women died in vain? What is the purpose of fighting for freedom if that freedom can be denied over something as silly as hurt feelings?

Do you not realize that this is why our liberties exist? If one's freedoms are to be overridden any time a large group is offended, then how can we claim to have liberty at all? How can we be the land of the free if freedom is determined by popularity?

Multiple Catholic churches have been erected in Béziers. I think the churches would stir bad memories in non-Catholics, had the Catholics not killed every last one when they came in. Do you not think the building of a church following the massacre would have been in honor of the religion that inspired/ordered mass murder at that location? I'll ignore the questions on funding (although I'm sure the churches received funding from the same Church that authorized the massacre), because I truly don't believe that's the issue with most of the people on this board.
