Fall chili and soups are great. My wife takes a tortilla and dips it in the chili, puts it on a plate then spreads the chili meats and beans then adds cheese and sour cream for a chilito. Pretty good. Also some jalapeno cornbread on the side.

I had a Boston bull terrier named Shasta that could jump from the ground and lick your face. I will check the Sherwood Gazatteer and see if there is info there. Lots of small post offices sprung up in the 1840 - 1850's that was someones home. usually a prominent family in the area.
