  3. I used to work two jobs especially around Christmas time. In a sense it isn't worth it because you're taxed so heavily. They talk so much about working so hard to make ends meet. Why does the government punish you for working harder? You work overtime and you are taxed more. A second job puts you in a higher tax bracket. One thing I think would help is reducing the governments hold on our paychecks by eliminating the income tax. This way a worker is not punished, receives more of his or her check even when you work minimum wage and allowing more spending or saving. Currently we talk about taxi
  4. My first job was Sun Earth Energy Concepts in Woodstock, Ga mowing lawns at age 15. I started working at Winn Dixie in Cartersville during High School and soon after Wal-Mart #615. I remember jobs were plentiful then and all that was needed was a willingness to work.
  5. I have just moved to the area but I used to live in Oakwood, Ga up 85 and I-985. Whats annoying with any transportation tax is how our money is wasted. Look at the Peach Pass Lane on I-85 North above Spaghetti Junction. My tax dollars and yours paid for that Interstate several times over. Whose idea was it to take our HOV lane and then install cameras, sensors and increased police monitoring to charge people to use that lane. Designed so that the top bidder gets to avoid some of the most constricting traffic for a price. On a different count you have 400 where on one side you still pay a
  6. Do you have an idea about what One Foot is? Weekly Telegraph, Nov. 20, 1888 -- page 12 Old One Foot A mysterious creature Engaging the Attention of Walton Sportsmen From the Monroe News About a mile below town is the well known Camp ground woods and a huge body of woods, and a huge body of woods it is - a thousand acres more or less. For some time Messrs. C. W. Felker and James Sheats have been running some unknown animal or something else on that ground. Not being satisfied, on last tuesday night, summoned a posse of men and dogs thirteen in number, repsectively - armed themse
  7. I prefer the crunchy by the way and I put each on one slice and put together. My wife and kids like to mix it in a bowl and smear it on. I like to taste them separate but I guess it makes no difference.
  8. While going through some old news articles I came across this.... From the Cherokee Phoenix date 1830 http://neptune3.galib.uga.edu/ssp/News/chrkphnx/18300421d.pdf Local News. Charleston, March 29, Sea Serpent in Georgia (Appears on: Page 2 - Col 04) Charleston, March 29 Sea Serpent in Georgia Capt. Delano, of the schooner Eagle, arrived here on Saturday from Turtle River, has furnished us with the following particulars, to the truth of which he declares himself willing, with his whole crew to make affidavit on Monday, 22d, inst, at 10 o'clock A.M. 10. Union Recorder, Oct. 3, 1916 -- page 7 In regard to the feldspar industry I would say since the last meeting of the board there has been put in operation what appears to be quite a successful mine of this material at Hiram, Paulding, County, on the Southern Railway, twenty-seven miles northwest of Atlanta. The mine is now, I am advised, furnishing about one car of feldspar per day to an Atlanta firm, where it is ground and treated, thus making potash available as a source of plant food when used for fertilizers.
