My Dad was visiting us the other day...and he asked how far it was to the nearest Lowes or Home Depot...we drove out to HD and he said, "wow! I must be spoiled at home because the HD or Lowes are not this far away in Cumming..." So, that being said...Lowes...also Forsyth County just opened an Aquatic center which includes a waterpark...fun!

I agree with making several stops...the car seat is not luxury and the baby needs to get out and move around and get the blood circulating, etc. In the car have toys, books, and snacks for the baby. Bring a CD that may be soothing enough to help them drift off to sleep. As for the beach and rental home: Take the time to look for any hazzards on the floor, etc. The beach, of course, bring a big blanket/towel for the baby to try to stay on...he'll enjoy tasting the sand. I disagree with that notion. This is a great book available online: Essential Touch: Meeting the Needs of Young Children by F.M. Carlson. I agree! Nurture the infants! They need to make those attachments and connections!

When an infant cries it is his/her way of asking for help. So, my recommendation is to nurture the infant and hold/cradle the infant in your arms and use infant massage to help your little one relax....reassure them that all is well in the world and hold them. Positive touch is healthy for your children whether it is a hug, a high five, holding hands, or tumble play. Studies have shown that “touch” helps relieve stress and also helps moods, sleep, appetite, and pain awareness. Our Elf returned Nov.6th. He has been very active moving around the house. Our Elf starts a scavenger hunt around the first of December. He leaves notes and treats too. Our Elf accompanied us on our Elf Scavenger Hunt which happened to end at Disney in Fl. That was a great Christmas for us even though I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time.
