  1. YES IT DOES! I lost my Mom last week to cancer...prayers said for the lady who lost her husband and for the family who lost their daughter.... As hard as it hurt to lose my Mom, I cannot begin to imagine the pain of losing a child.....
  2. I LOVE IT! I wish I had thought of that when I burned my butter beans on Sunday.
  3. I'm glad your Dad is home and doing well!
  4. Hey, Subby I'm not sure about all the specifics, but my neighbor refi'd their home and it cut their interest rate drastically and reduced their monthly payment by approx $400/mo. That would be enough for me to at least inquire......
  5. WOW - your boys should be very thankful, although they may not be until the time comes for them to pick up the folder and go to the funeral home. We were fortunate enough to get some ideas from my Mom before she became disoriented but still had to plan the majority of her funeral ourselves. My cousin and her husband own Collins Funeral Home in Acworth and they were extremely helpful in planning all of the details - things that you just don't think about ahead of time. We spent a lot of time and put a lot of personal details into Mom's funeral and all of us had people telling us that
  6. My nephew is 2 1/2 and his Mother was giving him a bath when he passed gas in the tub. She said he got this really surprised look on his face and said "There's a hole in my bottom"......ya gotta love 'em!!!!!
  7. Ham and Asparagus Pinwheels 1 pkg rectangular sliced ham 1 pkg cream cheese 1-2 cans asparagus spread cream cheese on sliced ham; place 1 stalk of aspargus on top of cream cheese; roll up and slice into pinwheels. A little time consuming but worth the effort.
  8. You are correct! My Mom always said that the people who tried to show off their wealth by wearing flashy jewelry, driving expensive cars and living in over-sized homes most likely actually had less than those who lived simply and I have numerous relatives that prove her correct.
  9. It depends on whether they are just "going fishing" or if there will be instructions/lessons included. My DH has done some guide work in the past and always includes lessons/tips, etc.
  10. Hi, ShayShay Thank you very much! She fought a long, hard battle but she is now at peace and free of all the pain and suffering. I was not ready to let her go but honestly could not have watched her suffer much longer. I was with her right until her last breath and wouldn't trade those times and that memory for anything. WM really had a difficult time but just started a new job and seems to be working her way through things. She has spent some time on the front porch just talking to Mom and that seems to have helped her a lot. I can honestly say that burying my Mom was the mos

  14. How sad! RIP sweet baby! May God's touch be with each of you during this difficult time.
  15. Who cares???? That "thing" that has been all over the television for years is an accused pedophile! Michael Jackson was talented and cute when he was performing as a black child with his brothers years ago - then he weirded out......
  16. Hey! You stole my idea!!! That is what my hubby and I do and we spend very little money but have an awesome time. There are even some campgrounds where you can rent "cabins" and they have pools, etc.
  17. Our doctor calls salad bars "ptomaine troughs" (sp?) and says to stay far, far away from them.....
