  1. I actually think it's really kind of scary. This thread creeped me out.
  2. http://www.howtobearetronaut.com/2011/03/usa-shopping-malls-summer-1990/ I really had these bangs. Really. That might be me on the left...maybe. Remember when they allowed smoking in the malls???
  3. And in most cases you got your $20 for the membership. I wish you and IP Board the best of luck in resolving this problem. ETA: I'd assume that you can also set up a filter in your email to take out these Boxbe notices?
  4. I posted this yesterday - Free Willie was the overall consensus.
  5. This is so much gold!!! REDNECK BRACKET!!!
  6. I'm am SO in...this is so a la Romi and Michelle.
  7. All 3 are usually options. If you can't move, you may need some medicinal relief, like a muscle relaxer. However, if it feels more like a "crick", you can do some stretching, hit the chiro and do some hot/cold therapy. I also recommend Biofreeze, which you can get from your chiro.
  8. I get a kick out of them... I often wonder what my son is going to want to wear to the prom. I hope if he wants to be an oddball that he goes with seersucker or converse with a traditional suit. I will not pay for any of the all white, zoot suit, top hat crap...and I can probably suck up a tacky ass color, but I hope to God I will have taught him better.
  9. Girl is rocking her belly bump to the prom! You know that this was in Pauling
  10. Wow - that's an incredible story. God is good. They'll never have to say, "I wish I had just one more day".
  11. Lots of other variables that I would need to know. When you say, "do drugs", how do you know and what kind of drugs? I know some damn fine parents that occasionally spark up a joint after Junior's in bed. DFACS can often be a terrible system to get a child into - but if you feel that the child is in danger, emotionally or physically, it's far better to engage DFACS.
  12. Make ya sterile. Hugs the boys too tight to the body and makes the kitty all musty - neither is good for reproducing.
  13. ok? I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but okay. I guess what I was hoping that you would take from my post is that, God willing, your tween/teen goes to the doctor once a year. You see your child everyday. Who's responsibility is it to notice behavioral changes?
  14. Here is a link to workshop writing goals among authors in third world countries: http://www.joannegardiner.com/images/Img2338.gif
  15. I guess I just hafta wonder if maybe ZC is the only person that has never been affected by depression? Plug in, ZC, the signs of depression aren't that hard to see. Further, if your child is showing signs of depression a GP is the last person I would want them to go to as they're truly far less consultative than a mental health professional and I would be fearful of them trying to prescribe unnecessary medication. It's okay. I play poker, because I feel like I have some say in the outcome. You're more of a craps person. I'm just not willing to crap out with my kids, so I don't depend
  16. Nelson was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession back in November ... after U.S. Border Patrol in Texas found weed on his tour bus -- but the prosecutor in the case is willing to let Willie off with a $100 fine ... if he sings "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” INSIDE the courtroom. According to the prosecutor, the song would count as his community service -- but Willie's punishment ultimately rests in the judge's hands. No word if Nelson will accept the offer ... but it's a good deal -- because if he gets convicted he faces a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
  17. It's helps to rid guilt and personal responsibility when something goes wrong. "Yes, little Johnny was on the internet 6 hours a day before he shot his head off, but my doctor's didn't ask them if they were on facebook as recommended by the AAP!!!" Sadly, someone will try to sue as a result.
  18. Sorry sista, not only should parents be monitoring and regulating ALL internet usage, but I'll think that a parent should see the signs of depression long before the doctor.
  19. Just another reason for the doctors to prescribe meds to tweens/teens - a historically hard demographic to penetrate. Doctors spend 7.5 minutes on a teen check up...and this is what they want to talk about? How about asking more probing questions about level of activity, or do we need to have the news cover childhood obesity a bit more? We've also had a number of seemingly healthy children die during school sports - how about a few extra questions to catch things like Afib??? I'll tell you why, excercise is FREE. Afib is treated with anticoagulants, a very cheap prescription. Start thr
  20. Just a note - I did not take that picture. The picture actually is of Camden, but the area looked just like that. Of course, there were streets that had people - but it was just a neighborhood of battered and broken "homes" and tons of business that prey service those kinds of environments. It was a very trapped feeling because of the sheer size of the area and the fact that there was NO diversity. And I don't know where I was, passed through a tunnel, saw the capital and a huge Trenton sign and then I saw what looked like downtown Chatanooga...and then, ghetto, as far as I could see
  21. Just the "dont miss" places. I'm only there for 3 days, so I want to be sure that I see anything important
  22. Has anyone ever seen this show? Sometimes, I have to wonder what in the hell people are thinking?? There's 3 stories on right now. One is a set of 3 very young boys, maybe even late teens, that flew to a concert...with a pilot that had just gotten his pilots license. The other is a guy that drove on a desolate mountain road in the middle of a snow storm. Does anyone watch these? They're super sad, but still kinda make you want to say WTH are you thinking??
