  1. 1993 was a 100 year storm, like the floods this year.
  2. We love our Flip too! SO easy and so easy to carry with you!
  3. I HATE the look of stucco...but that might be because I grew up in South Florida. And, the house in the front running of house hunt is stucco, so I'm happy to hear that it has some redeeming qualities.
  4. Yes. Do you have a specific question? These are very common for executives. Executives are an investment by the shareholders in the performance of the company. Think of it in terms of race horses...no difference. Do I think it's excessive? Maybe. But, he's got a dramatically increased risk. Cadillac plans are often found in high risk occupations (line men, hazmat folks, etc). But, how many of you have BCBS HMO? Cause that's what Obama considers a "Cadillac Plan"
  5. So, I'm sitting here listening to The Devlins, and I looked up the lyrics to one of their songs...man, it's profound. You can HEAR the passion in love and hate in their music and you can read it in their lyrics. I began to reflect on the many artisits that I've dated (especially since my first musician ex married last month ) and I hated the drama when I was in it, but from time to time, I miss the corny poetry or silly songs or guitar serinades. Ahhh, to be young again.
  6. Well, the smell and crowds are colorful...they've lent to some very interesting coversations! My only complaint with MARTA is that it doesn't go anywhere. I'd give up an organ to be able to quit driving and take public transportation! (An unimportant organ not need to filter alcohol)
  7. Don't worry - once Obamacare kicks in, they'll turn the Life Flight helicopters into an extension of the presidential fleet.
  8. I'm a mom, and I've taken my kid on MARTA a million and a half times at all hours. It's completely safe and he gets a kick out of going on the train. I use to take MARTA to the New Years shows at Philips and I've been on it at 2am before with no problems. I've driven down a few times and parked in the CNN lot.
  9. The Boy Scouts are a relgious organization. The seperation of church and state really state that they shouldn't have been working together at all - but that's not really the matter here. Naturegirl, there are no women in the Boy Scouts. As a matter of fact, this is pretty ridiculous on the part of the LAPD, since the Learning for Life (the organization that runs the Explorer Program) clearly states here that there is no descrimination based on race or sexual orientation. There's more to the story, and what should really twist pimples is the fact that this is now going to be paid for by
  10. Good rule of thumb, don't stay at a hotel with room doors on the outside unless you're in a tropical location.
  11. I'm going to try Amazon and Overstock. I prefer to go with a name brand, however. Like Restoration - you KNOW that the quality is going to be top notch.
  12. You know - working both sets still seems to come up really high, even without getting sheets at Restoration. Where is another place that would sell high quality linens? How much does are bedding ensambles usually?
  13. I really like these too, and they have the whole collection...but, they're not on sale! http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1608081&navAction=jump
  14. I am buying new bedding, but they don't have the complete collection (it's been discontinued), so - look at this picture. If I have the comforter in the stripe, and then the square shams in the back with stripes, the rest of the bed in cream and a cream coverlet at the foot...can I pull that off? Or do you think tha the striped standard shams are a must? I can't post the pic, just link to it. Link
  15. This could get quite interesting... http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2009/12/flight_253_passenger_says_at_l.html " While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. “The guy said, 'He's from Sudan and we do this all the time.'” Mutallab is Nigerian. Haskell believes the man may have been trying to garner sympathy for Mutallab's lack of documents by portraying him as a Sudanese refugee."
  16. I'm talking to a bunch of folks at work and no one remembered it!! Mary died of dysentry. Do you want to ford the river?
  17. No no, the stretched ears. He has tats too, on his wrist.
  18. If you believe in any kind of psychological normalization, he's right - but as with all things, there are exceptions, rules and all of the area in between. While there are people that believe Jung and Freud were genius, there are many that think they're quacks.
  19. You know, I don't really apologize much for it..it's just a hard transition to make. I fully believe in co-sleeping, especially in the first year. Putting small children in their own room is a uniquely western phenomenon, with interesting consequences for anyone that's interested. Still, he's almost as tall as I am now, and he kicks around like crazy.
  20. Or this guy...but when you call him, you'll need to leave my number and let him know I want to have his love child.
  21. What are you most Thankful for this Christmas? Besides the birth of my Lord, I'm so excited to have all my boys home to celebrate. I feel like the most blessed woman in the world!
  22. I'll admit that I am as much to blame for the habit as he is...after my divorce it was a bit of a comfort to me to have my snuggle bug. With that said, I've decided to use softer methods for my first pass at this. Not to mention, he is getting to the age where is wanting more independance and freedom of expression. I want him to start looking at his room as his place of expression and individuality.
